Just saw the trailer. Looks like Xillia in many regards, visually. The combat clip seem to have a slightly different perspective than typical although it's hard to say anything concrete at this point based on that. Slay dodges the attack with a sidestep and then combos, which sorta reminds me of Graces I suppose. A huge field was shown, hopefully those aren't as empty and repetitive like Xillia's.

Worldwide... It's happened, NAMCO wants our money. I'm very happy with this news, if you had told me just a few years ago that we'd be getting console Tales games on a regular basis in Europe I'd have laughed in your face before weeping in a corner. NAMCO has had such a turn around with it's localisations, it's really impressive. I'm happy.

A mix of Graces and Xillia combat with FFXII and Xenoblade's field battles sound awesome in thoery. Here's hoping they can pull it off without making concessions

I'm glad to see that Namco is becoming so supportive of their Western fanbase.
Things really seem to be looking bright.

Things are definitely better than they were a few years ago, and I really appreciate that.

Battle gameplay looks interesting, even though it was only 6 seconds of it. Guess it's as good as anytime to try out Tales.

PS3 keeps on truckin'. Hey Sony, getting Gaikai running with 2014 JRPG titles like this and P5 could make the wait for one on PS4 less unbearable.

Ah well, so long as I can still use DS4, I can't complain.

JohnTV is on my side!

I really hope the name isn't Slay. It gives me bad reminders of names like Edge and Fayt :(

Namco Bandai had Shing (Tales of Hearts), so yeah, don't be surprised if a bad name comes up from time to time.

Every time they reveal a new Tales game, they show just one character fighting, and people get worried that it'll be single-player combat. Every single time!

well the previous time we had a character that was style switching 3 weapons in the first trailer so we had reasons to be worried.

Is the translation actually wrong or you are just not fond of the name?

There isn't an official English name yet.

I do think Slay/Sleigh/Sley/Srei sounds off and unusual even by Tales standards though, especially when the name of the other character doesn't seem to be as weird. Threi or Thray is probably more likely.

The fact that they've already announced it for the west gives me hope that they're going to speed up the localization this time.

Maybe they can magically make it Siegfried or something like how Kohak became Amber (ToH, but refer to ToGƒ).

I hope they bring cooking back. Sure, it's a simplistic system but I enjoyed discovering new recipes. Also, the one other thing I've been really disappointed with in Xillia is making all alternate costumes $3 micro-transactions :-(

Yeah. Really miss the Wonder Chef. Finding him in secret spots was fun.

I'm excited. The overworld definitely gives me some Xenoblade vibes, and it could end up promising as long as there's more to do than in Xillia's fields.

I'll need to see more of the battle system to get a decent idea about it, though that footage gives me hope it's similar to Graces' combat. Has Namco surveyed fans about their favorite Tales battle systems before, actually, or is this a first?

Ufotable doing the animation again is awesome and the localization announcement is awesome. Hopefully Namco's already started work on bringing it over when Xillia 2 is practically done at this point. The only thing stopping me from being completely hyped is my anticipation for Xillia 2.
