All the AC4 shots made me finally start a game myself and it saddens me that there's just no way for me to downsample it at playable framerates. Maybe once I'm done playing I'll crank it all up and have a screenshotting session. Should probably take notes while I'm playing for locations/chapters to return to.

Shoot me your fav screenshot you took this year in a PM and I'll use one for next year's title card and feature a couple more as examples.
Open for everyone? Might as well, though I doubt any of mine hold up to anything these guys are taking. Every time I open this thread something blows my mind.

So hard to choose! Oy.

The 2014 thread should have a nice looking first post based on what all I've seen.

Hopefully no one minds two Starbound shots. :P
Started playing this last night. Next thing I know it's 5am and all I can think is "need.... more... diamonds....."

It's like crack.

best of all CA has made it's way into SweetFx, solidifying it as an essential gaming graphical addition.
I hate you

Yeah this year has been great. People really grew into their own. A bunch of really cool things have developed.

I love what's been happening with portrait, and all the uses of Cheat Engine for taking creative screenshots. People are pushing resolutions to ridiculous extremes with crazy work-arounds, and best of all CA has made it's way into SweetFx, solidifying it as an essential gaming graphical addition.

Same sort of thing for me once I got into it.

Tearing is probably my biggest gripe and I haven't found any way to fix it, there are some performance issues, and control rebinding is still being implemented during beta.

However, Starbound seems to have a couple of PC-friendly features, oddly enough nicer than the average high-end graphics game. How many games have a HUD toggle button that completely turns off all UI elements including menus (besides damage numbers when you get hit, I think)? Gameplay controls stay active while menus are up -- you can run while looking at your inventory! Also you can drag the menus around the screen (and I think have multiple menus open at once) which is nice.

Oh, and multiplayer needs port forwarding, a classic PC gaming thing...but it's literally one TCP port. And if you try to connect to a server, the client TELLS you "Hey, can't connect this particular port" so you immediately know what's wrong.

I was playing at 2560x1440 in full screen mode, but performance seemed oddly low. So I put the game in windowed mode and maximized it and suddenly it was running smoothly.
