that was funny because that tweet taken out of context like that was pretty terrible.I think the guy is awesome and everything right with PC gaming. He doesn't need to fix our game. I think our game is pretty awesome. But he deserves to be praised not only for being an awesome mod maker. If doing that makes me embarrassing, then I'm cool with that. In fact, anyone who does anything cool with our games, whether it be modding or cosplay or just telling a friend, deserved a beer in my book.
Do tell them.If only 1080p isn't enough, tell me and I promise to share that. I've been telling you all everything I know about the game, and I will share everything I've learned from you inside PG.
Since you guys wanna beat me up, let me simplify.
1) We support 1080p.
I, personally, know some people with rigs that can support higher than that want more than that. I *promise* to share that info with people working on the game. I am not working on it myself. I sit next to the producer though. If only 1080p isn't enough, tell me and I promise to share that. I've been telling you all everything I know about the game, and I will share everything I've learned from you inside PG.
2) Durante is a stud.

I'm not your embarrassment or your enemy. I'm the dude posting pictures from Valve or unboxing a Steam Machine. Your opinions are my ammunition, and I like going into battle fully loaded.
What would you rather? No port at all? I get that this isn't perfect but man, getting Japanese console developers to release on PC is a huge step forward. let's not run it into the ground before it starts eh?

In the end I don't personally get worked up over something that will probably get fixed rather quickly whether Durante does it or not, but I absolutely believe Platinum should be informed what people want even if it's a minority.
1440p / 1600p is cutting edge? Resolutions that people have been using for over a fucking decade is cutting edge? What world are you living in.

I'm not disagreeing with the notion that the developers should've had more foresight in those instances, but I can think of far worse ports than these "OMG 1080P/60FPS ONLY?! HORRIBLE!" posts try to make Revengeance out to be. Dark Souls, Deadly Premonition, Typing of the Dead: Overkill each had less options but (the existence of hackjob fixes notwithstanding) were still playable by-and-large, albeit with inferior image quality. Castlevania: Lords of Shadows was a relatively basic port job too in terms of overall tweaking ability. Even recent simple indie games (PC exclusive or otherwise) lack even simpler options; launch day Hotline Miami for starters. Meanwhile you also have some big-budget titles that are PC-oriented by nature with (nearly) all the common options you'd expect in this day and age, but rendered utterly unplayable due to the developer's ineptitude (Battlefield 4 among other EA games and Diablo III). Now that's something worth getting legitimately upset about. Can you name a single PC port in that position that's based on a game released in the last five years? I can't think of anything that isn't fixable with either a config edit or something like Durante's mods. It's almost certainly due to a clueless developer.
Don't worry JP we all still love you and appreciate that you're taking the time to communicate with us.
Though I will ask this. Is there any support for 16:10 resolutions at all? Seeing as that is quite a common monitor aspect ratio.
Thanks to you and all the guys at Platinum Games. 9th Jan can't come soon enough.
Exactly! But figuring out how big that minority is, that is the tough part. The more you can all teach me, the more I can share and make things better moving forward!
The producer needs to know that such "resolution list" is a thing provided by the Direct3D API itself then, not something the game itself needs to have. Make sure to let him know that first and foremost. With that I would be satisfied enough, unlocked framerates is stuff that would take far more effort than that and could probably just be supported later if the port does well enough.I asked the producer for a supported resolution list, and all the standard 16:10 steps below 1080p were on there. So yes, there is 16:10 support.

You assume Durante is a man and not a god.why is it so hard for these developers with such manpower when, apparently, one man, durante, can do it all by himself?
Oh, I forgot about that. As awesome as the closing song is an option to skip would be nice.jp, I hope you can skip the credits this time![]()

Alright. Her, actually. And she is razor smart. You can share with her, POLITELY, at @pg_narita. But she doesn't speak English, so be polite and use simple English. I'll follow up as best I can.

Me personally, my gaming computer is 1600x900p, so it's below 1080p, but I definitely understand people wanting the ability to go higher. The ability to increase resolution is one of the ways PC games "future-proof" themselves.

PG is listening to all the complaints and people keep using terms like shitty and embarrassing. Stay classy guys.
No, 1080p is not good enough for pc gamers who play above 1080p. 1080p looks like garbage on a 16:10 2560x1600 monitor.

4.17% of people on the Steam hardware survey use single screen resolutions more than 1080p.
I am sure they are very hardcore and we can't really say if they are a big chunk of the sales, but they are still a tiny minority...

I was referring to Twitter. Yeah, now that JP entered the thread people magically changed their behaviour. It's a Christmas miracle.Really? I'm seeing really positive responses to PGs posts in this thread so far.

It is significant, especially when we're talking about the most enthusiastic gamers. The most important part to keep in mind is how truly bad scaling up from 1080p looks on a fixed pixel LCD monitor. So it isn't just people wanting it to look way better. In most of these cases, those higher than 1080p monitors are going to look much much worse than a native 1080p monitor just do to the poor scaling. Better equipment resulting in poorer quality visuals.

Well I'm sure she'll get someone to clarify if it was all just a big misunderstanding. PG seems more open about potential problems than Rising Star and Namco thus far.I tweeted relevant documentation to @pg_narita in hopes to solve this. Honestly this still seems very strange to me that it's needed, so I'm just hoping this was some sort of miscommunication in the first place.
You mean that now that there is actual communication between people the tone is more balanced ? So much suprise, many strange.
