Kill: The Simpsons
Kill: The Simpsons
Because the only way to stop it is to do it now. Kill the Simpsons, it's too late, but let's go down in glory.
From the rules:
Each round, you've got 2 kills. Each of those kills needs to be on a different show.

Can't vote for the same show twice.
Wow surprised at the Batman Beyond hate. The show is actually really good and really dark too.
Kill: DBZ
Kill: The Simpsons
"Hate" isn't the right word. I think everyone here respects it, seeing as how it made it to top nine, but not a lot of us think it needs to crack top five or anything if Batman TAS is already likely to be number 1 or 2.
The first villain Goku meets (his brother Radditz) kills him. He goes on a quest down snake road and eventually learns a few things, but ultimately it's the quick thinking of mutha fuckin Yajirobe cutting off Vegeta's tail that saves them all from death at the hands (paws?) of Vegeta. Captain Ginyu is bested by getting tricked into body swapping, and Frieza ultimately goes down to his own damn attack and more than a bit of hubris. That's where the 90's ended.
Most of the criticisms lobbied at those particular portions of DBZ are half truths.
Give a reason, any reason or I'll have to disqualify your vote.Kill: The Powerpuff Girls
Kill: DragonBall Z
You have to write a reason for your kill choices noe.
I already have in this thread
Everyone should stop the infighting and focus on the Simpsons. We can resume fighting later once the big behemoth is out of the way. Otherwise, the ending will be so anticlimatic.
You really wanna kill possibly the best cartoon show ever (in any decade) just because it's anticlimactic?
You shut your whore mouth. ComicGAF and NolanGAF will come to assist at the end.Everyone should stop the infighting and focus on the Simpsons. We can resume fighting later once the big behemoth is out of the way. Otherwise, the ending will be so anticlimatic.
If you try to kill The Simpsons, I will kill your wife. I will kill your son, I will kill your infant daughter.
I feel that this is going a bit too far.You shut your whore mouth.
That first one I talked to the guy about. The second one is just a general insult I use.I feel that this is going a bit too far.
Please, can we keep things cordial here.

I would hope people realize these comments are in jest. I will tone it down a bit.
My intent is not to call out Human specifically. I did not see the other use, so I could not include it here.Somebody else already used the second one earlier ITT without anybody minding.

To be fair, I'm now emotionally scarred and can only be healed if everyone voted out the Simpsons.

Alright. I'll join your cause whenever DBZ or Batman Beyond is gone.
Edit: Uh... So somebody is still doing the whole PM thing, eh?
The Simpsons: While is was a great cartoon in its time, they just couldn't let it die.
Became a disgusting parody of itself, makes me not even want to revisit it.

Hey, I deserve credit for helping to get DBZ into the top 10. Before my Superman/DBZ rivarly DBZ was looking to go out. Only anime I voted against was Sailor Moon. You're good in my book except you tried (and succeeded sometimes) to kill every anime on the 90's list. The thing that hurts the most is that you bare that Nausicaa avatar like some sort of wolf in sheeps clothing.

Changed one of my kills to Dexter's Lab. It's not Batman Beyond's time yet.
I remain convinced that its defense force is on the young side and mainly supporting it due to the immense popularity of the 2000s Funi/Toonami dub and the plethora of video games and merchandise and DVD releases that continued to maintain its mainstream spotlight. The show is VERY fresh and recent in the minds of people. Strictly 90s DBZ was fairly obscure and not a top 10 anything in the minds of anyone alive and aware at the time.
DBZ was not enormous in the 90s. As seen
here, it mostly aired very early on Saturdays and Sundays on local stations (I found my area and the information is accurate, down to the old channel name). All of us had heard of DBZ from a friend or maybe caught a couple of episodes after randomly getting up super early on Sunday... But most of us had seen little or none of it. It was more a niche/cult show. You have to be lying to yourself to say this show was even remotely huge like X-Men, Batman, Pokemon, etc.
Dragon Ball Z aired in 1998 when Cartoon Network would air one episode of the FUNimation Dub every weekday during its popular Toonami time slot (specifically, 5 p.m. Eastern Time).

I was one of those people who watched DBZ religiously on Sunday morning at 6 am after it had switched from its 930 am time slot. When I entered high school they began airing DBZ on Toonami, that was '98. DBZ had at least a year and a half on a kick ass block of programming during prime time for kids.
