=/

I could dig it.

yoooo, that's NICE as FUCK

Damn Blink is hot as hell. Really not looking forward to this movie though...did not like the direction the series took after X2 and First Class didn't really hook me. I'll wait and see what feedback is like before deciding if I'll go out to see it...

Good thing Singer is the one directing this then. :P

Yeah...I do think he has a shot at redeeming the series. I'm cautiously optimistic but at the same time I really wish someone would take a brand new approach to the X-Men on film.

I think the movie will be good, but whoever was in charge of designing the covers/poses did a poor job for the most part. Many of the characters just look downright silly, but I'm sure they'll work in the context of the film.

Bishop looks fucking awesome, though. So happy he's in this, as he was my favorite X-Man back when I read the comics in the early '90s.

I'd love for DoFP to be huge and to get a hard-core, multi-film X-Tinction Agenda adaptation.
Seeing crazy ass Cameron Hodge, shaved-head Storm, Cable, Psylocke, permanent death of characters
only one I can remember was Warlock, but didn't a few other New Mutants bite the dust?
, and Angel turning into Archangel... man. I've read the disdain some X-Men fans have with Chris Claremont's writing, but I enjoyed his insane stuff.

Bishop and Warpath look awful.

Warpath is from the Grant Morrison "everybody gets more powers!" school, I see: "And he can fly!"

Sentinel looks alright.
Though I would also have liked if they kept the design they had in one of the earlier movies where we saw the head.

So an explanation for the new Sentinel design...

"They’re biomechanical weapons. We had to come up with what would be the ultimate version that could actually, in principle, stop the X-Men. We started with this idea that they were almost made up of magnetic plates slapped over one another, imagining that the plates could contract or grow, so the Sentinel can be skinny to get through a small space or the plates can open up to become a bigger shape. So they have become virtually unstoppable."

70's Sentinel = T-800
Future Sentinel = T-1000

And that reasoning is really lame. Unstoppable to me means busting through walls. If there was a giant building and the X-Men were hiding inside, I would rather see a 2-storey sentinel just walk through it compared to just sliding through a crack somehow.

Excepting a great movie.

Singer at least seems focused on this again, even if its because he bombed with all his other projects.

X1 and X2 are in my tops for the best comic book movies and just fun summer movies overall.

Past stuff looks godawful, future stuff looks cool. I like both variations on the Sentinel though - first one is sort of purple and campy, future one is threatening. Not 100% comic-accurate but that's never really been a dealbreaker for me.

McKellan Magneto, though... SO good. So perfect.

Looks like Nimrod. Self healing, sleek, probably smarter than the average mutant hunter. Seems like they went straight from the prototype, right to the future, and skipped the classic Sentinel. As a plot choice, I can see it, but I think it's a mistake to not have the recognizable big purple robots in the film, at one point, for fan service.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking.

No hate here, looks cool as Nimrod.

The only character I feel that was nailed perfectly was Nightcrawler, both aesthetically and Alan Cumming's performance.
I did like Marsden as Cyke, although it seems most around here didn't care for that one.

I think the character was written poorly (whiny, instead of a leader with conviction), but Marsden played the role well. He certainly looked it.

I think magnetic plates are perfect for fighting a group of people who's most dangerous person is the master of magnetism.

I should also add that casting Patrick Stewart as Prof.X was dream casting. Absolutely perfect.
Ian McKellen definitely grew on me. It was always a treat having his acting chops, but I guess I had gotten used to the Jim Lee/muscle-jacked Magneto with long white hair. :p

With regards to the sentinel's design, people understand that it's meant to be something that came out of the 70's, right? I refuse to believe it was completely lost on Singer that the final design looks tacky as shit, given the period out of which it's supposed to have been birthed.

Same goes for quicksilver. They seem to be ingrained in the pop culture look of the 70s more than anything else

Edit: he even said during the comic con panel how badly dressed he thinks everyone is in the films past timeline
