Earlier this week Shin'en Multimedia teased a reveal for a new Wii U game, one beyond the already highly-anticipated FAST Racing NEO, and we're delighted to exclusively confirm that this Wii U eShop title is Art of Balance. This new entry has all of the levels that have come before, but has been overhauled with an extensive range of new game modes:

Main features :

Off-TV play, as well as multiple control schemes supporting analogue, touch screen and Wii Remote options.
Multiple online and local multiplayer modes that incorporate either competitive or co-operative play. Up to five players can take part in the various modes at once — one on GamePad, four on Wii Remotes — while up to 10 people can play across two Wii U systems in online matches.
Online Leaderboards are included.
HD visuals that incorporate all new graphics, designs and locations.
More accurate physics that are processed at 240 frames-per-second (on 3DS the equivalent was often 30 frames-per-second.

Release date is Q2

It's actually an enhanced port of the 3DS game (so over 200 levels). If you want to learn more, click here for an interview with the developers!

Actually, it looks like full-fledged sequel, not just an enhanced port or something. I laughed at the "240 frames per second!" part :)

Yeah, it's not a port, but it includes the previous levels. 5 players local and 10 players online? Sounds very good.

More than a logo, finally! The game is looking great.

Edit: they need some advice from Pikmin 3 team on the fruits, though.

Argh, hope this one comes to Japan too. I enjoyed the 3DS one a lot, or at least what I played of it. The Wii U one, visually, looks really good.

Jett Rocket II was released yesterday in Japan, and I believe a couple Nano Assault games were released there too, so I'd say this one is quit likely to travel all the way to Japan.

Yeah, I think all their 3DS/Wii U games have made it so far.

Including levels from past games don't mean it's a port?
Or maybe should we call this an expansion?

Well, that Nintendo Life article is confusing as hell... can you really call it a new entry if it's just an enhanced port (which it would be if it were just the 3DS game with improved graphics and new game modes).

How does the game work? Are you balancing things with gyro controls?

Read the OP :p

Article doesn't mention the gyro, nope :(

I asked on twitter about new levels, let's see if I get an answer. The article is confusing, but I would be quite shameless to tease a port as a new game.

The 3DS one was really, really good and satisfying.
Glad to see them keeping on with N platforms and their IP too: Jett Rocket, Art of Balance, Nano-series, Fast...they are building their portfolio of N exclusives with good products

"New challenge unlocked"

Analogue controls...interesting. But the multiplayer, I really have a soft spot for these sorts of multiplayer games (Boom Blox is similarly great).

Nice try Shin'en but means nothing to me until I see some fast Neo.

I know everyone brings up a Direct whenever anything happens:

"my cat farted, probably will be a new Direct"

"I helped an old lady across the street, Nintendo needs a Direct about now"

But maybe they ARE actually going to reveal FAST at a Direct.

It's a fairly high profile game for a shop game and it probably looks really pretty.

Wish people would read carefully sometimes, its not going to be rendered at 240 frames per second. Its the physics calculations that will be performance at 240 frames per second.

Loved the 3DS demo, but never bought it for some reason. I'm in.

Same here. Pretty excited that this exists.

After having played years worth of Shinen games, I feel like this plays more to their strengths than the other games they've made. Here's hoping FAST Neo is super polished.

I quite enjoyed Art Of Balance but I bought it already on Wii on 3DS, so I'm not sure if I'll triple dip. Plus, I can stll play the original via Wii mode.
