The murder of Iryna Zarutska

The left were probably trying to find some way where they could blame he victim or how the killer was a victim and realised they couldn't without looking actually insane. So they decided to not talk about it.

Where all the righteous cunts who are always fighting the good fight, demanding justice, demanding that everyone else stop being silent and show empathy for the none white people ?

Theyre quiet because they can't spin it. They are all thinking white girl probably deserved it.

I despise these people more than the terrorists who are actively trying to destroy our societies. They are the worst than the terrorists.

Turns out, the killer's own mother had requested the authorities to commit the son to a facility because he had a history of being violent at home.

Not even his own mother is defending him.

Zero percent chance that will happen. Body cams are here to stay. Pandora's Box is open
Body cams are gonna proliferate EVERYWHERE as tney become super cheap, long batter life, and storage is virtually free. Doctors will have them soon to beat malpractice claims, hell, even retail clerks just to defeat all those ridiculous "She rude to me I want free stuff!" complaints. I bet within 10 years we will have almost 100% video coverage of EVERY interaction, people are totally desensitized to being recorded these days.

Again it goes back to the question, about medication and viability.

So there is a huge difference between normal functioning and mental illness. He never should have been realeased. PERIOD. This places the fault directly at the feet of those who released him. If he

Mental illness is a complex matter as someone mentioned above. Schizophrenia, has varying degrees, and, when off your meds can cause you to spiral way out of control. You can call him a POS, or any other name in the book, but this is definitely the result of failures within the system on so many levels. I am wondering who was the dumbass that released him to the public when he was most certainly a danger to others and himself.

Oh and so you know, I am right leaning, politically speaking. I believe in people being held accountable for their actions but I am also in the follow the failure trail. If you told me, this guy was of sound mind, death penalty. I would look for a wrongful death suit placed on the judge who released him because if he was where he was supposed to be (a psychiatric facility it sounds like to me) this murder never would have taken place.

It's easy to look at the immediate and scope at him with pitch forks but guess what? Stuff like this will happen over and over until you do a root cause analysis and say wait a minute, why is Judge Dipshit releasing these people?
I agree this is a situation where you have to ask yourself if you really want to prevent such things from happening or not. If your answer is to just throw people in prison, then such a person will go to prison for a lesser offense, probably get even worse in prison, then still eventually come out and do something like this. We HAVE to take mental illness seriously. Schizophrenia in particular is really nasty stuff. The person often doesn't just see and hear things, they have absolute conviction that it is reality.

I knew a guy who was convinced that the people in the apartment above him had an X-Ray machine they were shooting into the floor to give him cancer. It took his family hours to walk him through it rationally to realize how impossible and illogical it is. His brain just convinced him all the time that people hated him that much and that these ridiculous methods were how they manifested their distaste for him.

In the video with this situation you see the guy being whack before pulling out the knife. What was he hearing? What was his brain convincing him about? It's not just some mood disorder that could maybe be provoked, which is also very serious, yet this is still even worse. A person in that condition should never be allowed in public. They need to be treated and monitored. Our civic system is deeply impoverished for understanding and treatment of mental illness. Not everything can be fixed and certainly not prevented with punitive answers.

There is a relatively small % of folks who commit a majority of violent crimes. If you incarcerate them for life you can DRAMATICALLY reduce violent crime on the streets. Obviously this is a bitter pill and it would very disproportionally hit some groups which spawn an outsized number of violent criminals, but it COULD be done. There is a 60-70% recidivism rate amongst violent felons, so you could almost just go with a "two strike" law and that's it. Three strikes and you are definitely saving future people from a dangerous felon.

El Salvador would be the model to examine. What exactly are they gonna do with all those gang members in prison and if/when they eventually get released, what then?

My $0.02

Maybe we need to go back to non-virtual communities. Love thy neighbor and all that.

Internet and social media expose us to so much of the world's ugliness which we have very little ability to understand or influence. It upsets and irritates us, leaving us with less compassion to spare for the people who meet us in real life.

We waste our empathy worrying about faraway problems out of our control, instead of using it where it matters the most.

Perhaps we should focus more on improving our immediate surroundings and being kind to those we come across.

Perhaps simpler is better sometimes.

Just so it's clear, it's not like he was released on bail or something but rather transferred to a medical facility for psychiatric evaluation of his competency to stand trial.

Now as far as I'm concerned, given the shithead's long history of incarcerations, he's more than fit to stand trial and answer for his heinous crime. If what is rumored is actually true, that he said "I got the white girl," I hope he gets charged with a federal hate crime under Title I. Since a murder was the result, that would put capital punishment on the table.

I appreciate the clarification and I admit I'm not in the "inner circle" or whatever subset of Twitter users exist who can see Community Notes before they are publicly visible

But yeah I have many questions too. He was competent enough to be arrested and released 14 times previously, why would he suddenly become mentally incompetent now?

They are looking for excuses to not try him because they are afraid of the public attention a trial would receive is my guess
