In the final stretch. Glad I played Re2 remake first because it is a trip down memory lane in the second half.
Guys are on run number 6 and I'm 17 hours into my first time through the game lol
Man the
bit suckorphange
I agree. Same with the part towards the end of RE4R where you have to carry Ashley for ages. Should be a cut scene with the option to skip.On a first run is fine, but after that the game should let you skip it
II also started Re7 again. I really liked Requiem but for pure horror 7 is better.I started RE 7 again. It's crazy how many call backs to that game are in RE9. The chainsaw, the axe, the girl in a prison, combining whatever is in the yellow bags with other ingredients to make bullets and healing items, sneaking around while being stalked, cutting through a bar with a chainsaw. Chainsaw vs. chainsaw battle. Ancient coins with prizes. The newspaper article published by Alyssa Ashcroft ref missing people in 2016, etc. It's awesome.
Yeah, RE7 as horror is a different beast not only in regard to Requiem, but to every RE game.II also started Re7 again. I really liked Requiem but for pure horror 7 is better.
I warning you performance in particular situations can go to 30 fps teeth and without the semi automatic aim toggled in the options can be almost impossible to hit the enemies with Leon. Variable fps between 30-60 fps is extremely idiotic, capcom should at least give an optional quality mode with higher resolution, this game would be infinitely better in the IQ and in the controls precision but capcom never cared to lock fps on ps4 doubt they will on switch 2.Holy crap is this game awesome.
The visuals, sounds and controls are all top notch.
If you're able to comfortably hit at least 60fps then it's definitely worth it.Just started the game, not kept up to date with news on drivers, settings etc.
Anything super recommended?
Currently i got everything high, DLSS quality ,switched off blur, chromatic aberration etc and put path tracing on, no FG.
I play it on projector which is 1080p/60. Its been smooth so far and looks great.
I'm unsure what to set frame limit to, variable, 60 or 120? I know 60 is max for display but would 120 or variable be better for latency?
Also is PT worth it over high RT currently?
9800x3d/5070ti.

I'm at the basement too at around an 1hour although I'm not using any bonus stuff. I could have shaved a few minutes off but I'm not that pressed about the time since I don't care enough for Leon's later segments enough to really work them out.Second run 4:30 hr. I fucked up too much in the clinic, but I didn't have any cheats activated too. But it was only my second playthrough. At least I got the no blood, no heals challenges so now rocking infinite ammo. I am now at exactly 1 hr and into the basement with the first battery. Its easy with not having to scavenge or make ammo, not to mention infinite Requiem. And I can just heal now.
And take care if you want to go for no heals, a wrong R1 press might fuck you up (though I found reloading a checkpoint cancels the heal). Better not pick them up at all or remove them.

Maybe so, but to be fair the game did end up with 4 different difficulty levels which is no slouch (Standard with Ribbons is actually more challenging combat-wise than Standard with infinite saves). After finally beating this on Insanity my opinion still hasn't changed that there should have been a HARDCORE difficulty as the actual hard difficulty between STANDARD and INSANITY.
I just find Raccoon City dull and don't really care for getting shot at in my resident evil games. The destroyed building section was fun though. I also don't really give a shit about REmake Leon and his trip down memory lane and have never liked the bsaa so seeing them in Raccoon City annoys the hell out of me.The hardest part imo is the open area section. I forgot what the side areas were.
I kind of got it down the second time. Activate camp. Open shutter and enter garage, take battery, go into the well area, take second battery, go into apartments for the crank and open the rooftop mortar area. Go to gas station and use the fuel in the area above the starting camp elevator.
RC gets quite some flak (it does look drab), but the way it gradually opens up and comes together is quite good.
Only that mortar area... I already hated it on Standard, and even on Casual.
As someone who played the OG RE back in the day and maybe a bit of Code Veronica on my Dreamcast. If I wanted to get back into RE how would you all recommend it?
Hmm they got the Remake trilogy for 35 on PS Store. Might go that path then.Pick up RE2 Remake, beat it. Then head to RE4 Remake complete it. After that dive into RE9: Requiem. Once you're done beating Requiem, hit RE7 and follow that up with RE8 Village.

Standard(Classic) is not a different difficulty, it's Standard(Modern) with one singular modify on how you save, nothing else is different.I really liked this one overall. Not quite as good as the RE2/4makes but the next best thing. I do not like the final boss and overly-happy ending ("I didn't hit any of her vitals" c'mon) and the best section is the Care Center, but I had fun the whole way through. Enough to play it like 2 or 3 times in a row (which I rarely do these days). B+ game, I'd say.

What I did was Standard with Ribbons, then Casual with no healing and no blood, and now Insanity with infinite ammo. Each of these has felt suitably challenging.
Insanity with no cheats on is really rough though. Too much. You have to have a lot of patience and be comfortable with dodging/kiting like 90% of the enemies in the care center, and Leon's sections require exquisite crowd control. Many things one-shot you and due to the ribbon saves you're going to lose progress a lot. For hardcore RE9 players only.
My playtime varied on the system level vs the games calculations. My Xbox says I had 18 hours in the game on the initial run, but upon completing the game it told me I took just over 13 hours. Man, those piss breaks really add up!I took my sweet ass time my first go. 22 hours lol. I was walking most of the time and looking at everything. Last one was 02:28. infinite weapons and knowing what I need to do and don't makes a big difference.
60%Holy fucking shit. I just got to the point where Leon can start using the…..
crate
How far am I into this game?
Yeah, I'm pretty over it too. I mean I was over it back in RE4 but still. The funny thing is they had a built in explanation to make him not Rambo this time around but nah. The worst part about it is Leon's stuff makes Grace's game grind to a halt. Most of her mechanics vanish after the beginning and get replaced with like one new item to throw. You know, as much as I've enjoyed Leon as main character in RE6 and RE4, I'm kinda getting sick of him soloing and ramboing zombies and BOWs in this game. I'm at the point where I'm actively LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAY AS GRACE than Leon, which could be considered a sacrilegious opinion to Leon dickriders, but I'm so sick of characters able to mow down enemies like this is an action game. I was hoping Leon's part were small moments in the game where it kind of gives a break from survivor-horror aspect, but didn't realize his gameplay becomes the focal point in the later part. I'm playing this game for survivor-horror and Grace gameplay is exactly the one that scratches my itch and I look forward to play as her. I've already played Leon soloing zombies. It's a nothingburger at this point and I hope Capcom focuses more on the survivor aspect moving forward.
Free game mode in May which while I'm grateful for in the long run isn't beneficial for a lot of people as they will move on now and only experience it when the story DLC drops.Still want to play it again, but I wish there were even more targets and challenges to hit. Its a little bit barebones compared to other RE games I think.
Unless I'm mistaken, Standard (Modern) has enemies that are generally a lower difficulty, at least according to that image that's been making the rounds that I can't find at the moment.Standard(Classic) is not a different difficulty, it's Standard(Modern) with one singular modify on how you save, nothing else is different.
How the hell did you squeeze 20 hours out of this? It's been 8-12 hours for most gamers. 14 for me but I REALLY stretched my exploration and pace out.Don't get me wrong, this game is great. However, i'm sure im in the minority here when i say that the sweet spot for me for game length these days is about 12-15hrs. Once i'm getting near 20hrs, i'm more than ready to move on to something else no matter how good the game is.
IMO this game should've wrapped up after Leongoes back to RPD
That would've been a great place to wrap it up with whatever boss fights, etc....
I think im near the end now.Leon and stuttering sally are in that underground Umbrella factory.

the in-game timer at the end isn't indicative of how much time you actually spent since it only runs when you're actually playing. It's been 8-12 hours for most gamers.
You're around 40-50% done.how far into the game am i? I just done the church after the sniping section.
