That looks like it's running at 720p with several temporal artifacts.
Youtube compression is doing no favors to image quality, but still, it doesn't look good.

This is what I'm thinking as a base PS5 pleb. I want to preorder, I really do, but I want to know how it runs in Performance mode. I want to see it and hear what people have to say about it. I know I'm not getting crazy visuals on a base console, and I am good with that. Just please make it run well! (The PC version is fucking gorgeous.)

you aren't missing anything. what i think the game's missing is any kind of distinctive character/personality, & any kind of original art design. but, aside from that? it looks graphically & mechanically sound, & big enough to spend dozens of hours running around in if you so desire...

Base ps5 looks pretty good to me. Ofcourse it will look better on your tv than this yt compressed quality.
