One more note out of NYCC:
One day before the Season 5 premiere of AMC’s The Walking Dead, the blockbuster series’ EP Gale Anne Hurd announced at New York Comic-Con that the second half of its new season will premiere February 8. The international premiere will be February 9. The zombie drama typically splits its seasons, as AMC has done with Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick moderated the panel with Hurd, showrunner Scott Gimple, Robert Kirkland and Greg Nicotero.

I still love the conversation from Sophia with Carl in the comics when they both play with cards in the RV.

Wish that scene would somehow have been in the show just for the lols


and the daughter will be called Amy.

I have high hopes for this season. I know a lot of people like to hate on The Walking Dead but I have read most of the comics (two issues behind) and am looking forward to seeing what they add into the show for this season.

Does anyone else use DirecTV? Their AMC channel's quality seems subpar, like it's not full HD. Is this just the DirecTV feed?

Gonna watch the last two episodes of last season on Netflix later to catch up again and later the season premiere. Excite.

Edit: Nevermind. Google is my friend. Just ordered the first three hardbacks. Excite.

This is my first time posting in a Walking Dead thread.

What usually happens is that I watch the first few episodes of a season, get fed up, and then eventually give in and watch the rest a few months after the season has ended. Hopefully this season will break the trend.

Do you think the show's popularity has peaked? In terms of ratings, do you think it'll do better than last year? On par? Worse?

For reference, Season 4 premiered to 16.11 million viewers and an 8.2 A18-49 rating. The finale earned 15.68 million viewers and an 8.0 A18-49 rating.

Personally, I think it'll do better than last year, but not by a huge amount. I think it'll maybe add around a million viewers and a few decimals in the demo (but still within the 8 range).

Season 3 didn't start with a glacial pace. Remember? They discovered the prison and fought tons of zombies! The first few episodes of season 3 were action packed!

Somewhat excited, even though the show has been dissapointingg for most of its run for me (silly comic book reader bias).

Also, somewhat related, looking forward to this months Loot Crate, which has some kind of exclusive Walking Dead stuff in it.

Any bets on who is next to die out of the main cast? Not necessarily the first episode this season, but soon.

I for one hope its Beth.

I'll probably strike the show if Rick/Daryl or Glen dies.

Yeah, I won't be happy if Beth dies. Not before reuniting with Daryl at least.

Also, I can't wait to see Rick's face when he reunites with Judith. I marked the fuck out when she turned up in Tyrese's arms.

There will be tears.

They should pull a switcheroo and give Tara more screentime and more of a personality and kill off one of the mains. Not beth though. Baryl must live on.

Don't forget Judith. I know that for a TV series it would be harsh and they probably won't go with it but it would certainly underline the fact that noone is safe.

It could be a off-screen death and it would still shock the audience

I stopped watching around the end of season two. Saw there was a Walking Dead marathon going on so I began to catch up on what I missed. Overall I found the show to be better than it had been. Got no idea if people thought the same but knowing how the net is probably still been a lot of complaining.

In the end I think a show tend to be more enjoyable when you don't read about it online.

people still whine about it online but that comes with anything popular. Overall the quality has definitely gone up as the show has gone on. Critically too.

I assume there's a reason they kept her on the show after all this time and I would be surprised if that reason was so they could just to kill her off as fodder in the following season.

They had their opportunity to kill Judith off last year and they didn't take it. She'll be around for the foreseeable future.
