Anothe finale without any major character deaths

I like that. Show's proving it can be intense and edge-of-your-seat without needing to top it off with a major character death. They were seriously teasing with Sasha and Glenn.

And that 1:1 comic adapation is really impressive.

Quick question but was that member of the wolves with long hair (he meets Morgan right at the start) played by someone who also acted in twin peaks. I'm sure he's the same actor who played the boyfriend of the girl who died in season 1 of that. Can anyone confirm?

What was the song that they played to get the zombies back in the trucks?

Kind of bummed that no one from Rick's group died. Glad that Glenn didn't die (but honestly, he should have).

Seems like a cover of Love & Mercy by Brian Wilson. Couldn't tell ya the specific cover, but it sounds like a female voice though.

Comic readers, are you more or less excited that the show is following the comic so closely now? As opposed to keeping the general framework but taking the comic arcs in different directions

It's been nearly a direct adaptation this half season

Carol giving Rick that Alley-oop at the campfire by telling him to wait until Pete the abuser fucked up and gave the residents a reason to trust in Rick.

Does anyone think that
Negan
is the leader of the wolves? He just has to be.

Its also pretty ballin that Fear the walking dead is running in the summer "off" season. Will take the edge off while waiting for season 6.

quotes:

Carol is savage AF.
Rick is thirsty AF.
Preacher: Going to take a quick walk. Me: #byefelicia
Glenn: Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon

Abraham: "There is a vast ocean of shit that you people don't know shit about. Rick knows every grain of shit, and then some."
"P.S. Mother dick."

Done.

So wait....Deanna lets Rick's people meet with him without any of her people there? Did she even have anyone standing guard on Rick?

Good episode. Not great. The stuff at the end felt kinda cheesy. Hopefully Sasha is done with the whole crazy town bit. It was old 2 episodes ago.

Guess I'm looking forward to Rick pulling off a Yours, Mine and Ours bit next season. How many kids is that between him and Jesse? four?

Comic Spoilers
Gotta admit I was wrong. I was certain we'd get a glimpse of Negan in the finale. Hope they can get Jon Hamm to play that role.

Gabriel's goose is cooked regardless. He left that gate open, which let in a couple of walkers.
I sure fucking hope so. Not only that but the fact that he's such a degenerate human for not realizing that he may not be alive if it weren't for rick & co, and he tries to defame them.

Man no shit that was a great finale. Really tense. And everything surprisingly worked out. Until the fuckfest of season 6 where these evil fucks are gonna try and kill everyone. They got fucking disco zombies.

Abraham: "There is a vast ocean of shit that you people don't know shit about. Rick knows every grain of shit, and then some.".
The greatest line ever on the show.

Not that it matters at this point but why did no one from Rick's group actually elaborate on all this "ocean of shit" they kept mentioning? Maggie didn't find it useful, when talking to Deanna about loss, to mention how she saw her dad get his fucking head cut off by a madman who was about to pound through their seemingly safe prison with a tank? Seems pertinent to the discussion they were having. Carol could have said "you people seem to like stories so let me tell you about a little place called Terminus..." The word 'cannibal' might get their attention.

But no, it is all "stuff & thangs" with them.

Blinded by the luminous glory that is David Bowie's physical manifestation.
I was confused, did Rick shoot the old guy so he wouldn't turn, or did he kill the doctor?

He killed Pete for Deanna.

People are saying it's "unrealistic" for a chain to cut through three zombies heads like that, but screw it. It was one of the most bad-ass ways to take out zombies. Just wish the CGI was delayed for the first and second (from left) heads so the chain's "going through them" would have their heads falling off a few seconds after each other.

I really want to see the behind the scenes for that shot given they were using live actors to drop while the split head was practical(?) effects.

Oh shit Daryl!

Some Kratos shit right there

Triple kill!

Daryll using the threaded cane from bloodborne

TRIPLE KILL!

Edit: Damn, beaten. Stupid 60 second post limit thing.

That chain kill tho

Dat chain-whip moment!

*dead* especially the Bloodborne reference

That fucking ending scene!!! :O

Carol is something else.

Rewatching that final scene is pretty fucked up. Rick is ready to take out Pete as soon as he shows up sword in hand, but Carol stops him, as if knowing Pete was about to dig his own grave by escalating the situation even futher and irreversibly. She just stands there cool as shit when Pete does somethign stupid, and then, as Dianna's husband is dying, she looks at her, and then Rick, as if to signal that the right time to commence the Ricktatorship.

Carol on some devious shit.

Weren't the actors hyping this episode up to be one that viewers will cry about, or something? All I remember is that they were making it seem like some major stuff was going to go down.

Started watching this, am at the scene where Glen, Michonne and Carol visit Rick in "jail".
Just came here to post that I'm in love with Carol. ("Where did you get that gun from Rick? So stupid." - "These people re children. And children like to hear stories.")

Pelydr

mediocrity at its best
Morgan being the walking deads Donatello is amazing (forgive me if someone made that joke already, I'm on the west coast).

Finale was pretty disappointing. I liked all the Daryl / Morgan scenes. Glenn scenes were really dumb and having that fight drag out for the entire 90 minute episode was very tiresome, it had no payoff too with them seeming to be fine with eachother at the end. Gabriel's scenes were by far the most nonsensical, just really stupid filler with characters that don't act realistically. Really don't understand why Maggie kept quiet about Gabriel the entire episode. What was the point of showing her eavesdropping? There wasn't one I guess, sloppy writing. Carol is becoming way too cliche (her whole scene bringing the food to Pete) and I was hoping to see her offed off because she serves no purpose at this point really.

I liked the end scene even if it felt too predictable and safe though. But this finale had no reason to be 90 minutes, think they just wanted extra commercial money.

Rick's speech at the end gave me serious TDK epilogue teas

Talking Dead's Inside the Dead:

  • When Morgan honked the car horn, he was making sure it was safe to leave the two 'Wolves' there because he wanted to give them a chance.
  • “Love and Mercy” by Brian Wilson is the song used to lire the walkers into the trailer.

Daryl and Rick are tied for zombie kill of the season, but Aaron's use of the license plate and the door slam was pretty cool. TWD never disappoints in its cool and/or inventive zombie kills

What was the point of the zombie torsos hanging from hooks in the trucks?

They were probably people alive who were put there to be eaten alive by zombies.

Honestly im not, we had Bob, Beth, Ty and Noah die. No need to kill off any body else until next season
