It's the whole Walking Dead story. It's never ending, and this cycle of finding a new place, meeting bad people, surviving, shit hitting the fan, and finding a new place is not exciting anymore.
I kind of agree with you, but i have to admit that Negan has sparked my interest for the show, because he is just on such a different level than all the previous villains.
After him though, i think it's almost impossible to repeat the cycle again and stay fresh. Because i just don't see how you can top this level of violence, and not make it feel forced or borderline ridiculous.
For now, Negan makes me glad i stuck with the show. The Walking Dead was never on the top of my list of all the shows i watch, because of the repetitive cycle you mention. Untill last season i was on the brink of abandoning the show all together.
