Get your priorities right, Japan. Does Yokai Watch have the glory that is Poe Dameron? DOES IT?!

Have you seen both movies?Shit taste, Japan.
There's a Yo-Kai Watch movie? Since when?
children > man-children
Star Wars OVA when?Shame. SW 2 straight to DVD/VHS combo.
Oooo. Interesting numbers! Thanks a lot! Can't find any ticket numbers sadly. Considering though how ticket prices have ballooned in most of developed countries with time my guess would be that the difference would be even bigger in terms of ticket sales. With todays exchange rate the dollar difference becomes a little smaller though. 17.55 million vs 13.3 million.
Edit. Found the admission numbers.
Admissions:
1.358 million for Revenge of the Sith
1.040 million for Force Awakens
Have you seen both movies?
If The Room 2 and a new movie from back-from-the-dead Stanley Kubrick were released at the same time, would you also reserve judgement? Take out the hyperbole and it's the same situation here.
What kinda comparison is that? SMH.

The Disney's downfall continues.
The one with hyperbole in it, in case you didn't manage to read the sentence until its end to post your outrage.
Kubrick being even remotely compared to TFA. The Yokai Watch flick being even remotely likened to a genuinely terrible movie. If The Room 2 and a new movie from back-from-the-dead Stanley Kubrick were released at the same time, would you also reserve judgement? I'd watch two movies before saying anyone seeing one over the other has shit taste. If The Room 2 and a new movie from back-from-the-dead Stanley Kubrick were released at the same time, would you also reserve judgement? Take out the hyperbole and it's the same situation here.

The irony of an immature drive-by post on a video game enthusiast forum calling out man-children.
Ayy...
They're both silly popcorn movies though.
Yokai probably has a deeper story than TFA so it was probably able to reach both kids and adults.
DEEPEST LORE
DEEPEST LORE
This is the first movie page on Wikipedia I've seen with a one sentence plot summary. Usually those things are miniature novels.
Deepest lore.
Not even a competition. Disney should rename the movie to 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Nyan!' before it's too late.
Would be nice if it stayed that way instead of transforming into six paragraphs vomiting out the entire plot of the movie.Deepest lore.
Seems like Star Wars is in decline there.

The first movie sold 1,484,916 tickets opening weekend. So yeah, decline in full effect. What's weird is that I've read Yo-Kai Watch was already declining in Japan, yet there's news like this. No idea how this premiere compares to the first movie, though.
The current plot summary for the Force Awakens page is six paragraphs. That's Wikipedia for you.Yeah but you know it'll get there. Six paragraphs would be a lot for TFA as the story is pretty straightforward.
Just goes to show for many things you have most of the world.....and Japan.
I have never and will never understand the japan taste for games.
I don't understand how that mediocre pokemon rip-off sells so much. Seriously, wtf?

Better than the shitty Pokemon movies I assume.
Star Wars fanboys like to believe they're cinematic masterpieces on the level of Pulp Fiction and The Godfather.

Yo-Kai Watch airs on Disney XD.
6 (4). "Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Chou Movie War Genesis"
Someone better tell Japan that The Force Awakens has tentacle rape monsters in it.
Probably cheaper because no IMAX and 3D showing of Yokai. Also maybe early in the day ticket sales since kids are seeing it (I don't know if Japan does the whole cheaper tickets earlier in the day that the US does).
