Take my money.

Already have Kaisers unofficial port but I'm all over this.

Exhumed was every bit as good if not better than everything that wasn't called Doom back in the 90's, it really is a brilliant game.

Yeah, I have heard nothing but praise for this game. Haven't gotten around to playing it yet, myself, but I plan to (seems I might as well pick up this new version. I'm hoping it's available on GOG). Lobotomy were wizards with the Saturn hardware and most consider that the best version gameplay-wise (there's a lot of structural differences between the three versions on PS1, Saturn, and PC, but PS1 & Saturn have more in common than either do with the PC one).

Seems like it was basically Metroid Prime years before Metroid Prime, I miss this type of unique creativity in the AAA gaming space :(

The Digital Foundry video about this game made it sound really interesting, like a proto Metroid Prime. Might have to give it a shot at some point.

John Linneman will totally like this.
Never had the chance to play myself, but heard great things about it.

Oh man this is pretty funny. Some of the Nightdive devs were doing a stream about a year ago, and i begged them to do a port for Exhumed. They laughed and jokingly said they will see what they can do.:messenger_beaming:

I played the DOS version so many years ago, and i heard that the Saturn version was a completely different game, significantly better even. It's going to be fun playing this, definitely will give it a try.

Fucking amazing! Will be bought day one!

Mouse aiming and high framerate will put this to the next level.

Exhumed is a total masterpiece but this version looks like crap. Light effects from the original have been toned DOWN.
The PS version as a base is a terrible decision to begin with.

Bad bad bad.

YES. Is the same dev team behind Doom 64. I totally in.

Please, make Quake 1 as well.

However, Lobotomy also compromised the game in many ways, most notably in pared back geometry, and even smaller environments. The levels on PlayStation are still well designed and interesting to explore but the experience feels more claustrophobic and confined overall. Other changes also impact the quality of the experience. For example, Sony's analogue Dual Shock controller released in the month's after PowerSlave's debut, meaning digital-only inputs for the title - a profound cutback compared to the Saturn game.

Well the trailer says it'll combine the Saturn and PSX versions. So this will be the definitive one.
Kind of "Taking the rough with the smooth"
Absolutely :)
Played the shit out of the Saturn version. Will be interesting to play psx stuff too.
Exciting times!

Only played the PSX version mostly, but I thought it looked better even with the missing stuff
I know the differences but it looked horrible with the Saturn's rendering, ideally you want the Saturn version without the Saturn graphics

I only played the PC version back in the day.
I know it's different from the Saturn version, so I'm curious to play this remaster.

Always wanted to finally play this game, preferably the Saturn version. Good thing i waited so i can play this instead.

Man it's been forever since they yanked the fan project, whatever it was called, PowerslaveX? Been a long time in getting this to market

More Saturn, less PlayStation in the mix. Please, ta.
Exhumed as us lot over The Pond had it named, was a fantastic game on The Saturn.
Lobotomy really were a special dev team back then, especially with what they crowbarred out of Sega's machine.

Not sure if I was too young when this game came out, or too poor to afford it at the time; but I've never heard of this game.

But I'm glad a lot of you are excited and happy over the news :)

Impressive. Should of had them work on the Doom port on Saturn too *sigh*
To be fair to rage software, John Carmack was the problem we should have had 60 fps doom on the saturn, but apparently Carmack thought affinity texture warping was worse than 13 fps

Yeah, this looks like one of those cases where improving the problems of the original irons flat some of its old charm; the chunky framerate could make the sprite characters seem creepy, and the grainy texture display really gave the lighting effects stark contrast and dimensionality. It's a rare case where "better" isn't better because some of the technical deficiencies played into the highs of the original experience.

(*Another one with that "better better" feeling for me is PS2 Medal of Honor Frontline; when they "remastered" it for PS3, it felt like a normal game, not this incredible epic that was straining the console to its metal to try to render the chaos and expanse of that harrowing beach assault.)

In other parts of the trailer, Exhumed Remastered looks fine and like a lot of fun, so maybe you can get used to it or there's plusses and minuses to the conversion and that's just part of its own take on things. NightDive usually does trustworthy work, so I don't want to pass judgment, but looking at the trailer kind of made me still want to track down an old PlayStation copy or boot up a Saturn emulator and see this as it was in its prime.
