This is breaking.

At least 17 people were shot in an Arkansas nightclub early Saturday morning and more were injured trying to escape or being trampled, police said.

One person was in critical condition and the other injuries did not appear to be life-threatening after the 2:30 a.m. shooting at Power Lounge in Little Rock, according to police there.

According to police, there was a dispute during a concert and an exchange of gunfire took place.

There was no immediate information about suspect, but police said the situation did not appear to be connected to terrorism or an active shooter.

One could only imagine how bad it would have gotten if there wouldnt have been any guns to keep people safe.

You think the type of people who shoot up nightclubs in arguments are the type to respect gun control laws?

Its about minimising harm. Acts of extreme violence against masses of people are orders of magnitude more common in the US. Take the guns away won't solve the fucked up relationship with violence that country has but it will ensure less people are maimed or killed when that fundamental part of the american individuals psyche manifests.

Australia banned guns.

They don't have mass shootings.

How they do that?!

They don't have a portion of their population that was reasonably assumed to be willing to engage in some kind of civil war when their guns were taken.

Uhhhhhh I've never seen/heard of any shootouts in nightclubs in Tokyo and I've been clubbing daily

Did I say we shouldn't have increased gun laws?
What was your point then because your comment seems pretty specious given the statistics conform better gun control would prevent incidents like this and you just posted the usual nonsense "but..." reply.

You think other countries with better stats than US magically have people who always obey the law?

Guys a school filled with children was shot up and ZERO changes were made.

U.S. aint getting any kind of gun reform.
Back in the day, I remember getting an email titled "did you know the Sandy Hook shooting didn't happen?". I've never been to the US, my native language isn't English, why on earth would these denialists target me with their conspiracy nut spam? America is a weird place.

You'd think no... and yet that same type of people is somehow NOT shooting up nightclubs in any other country in the world. Funny how that works.

That was the litmus test. America failed. If anything, America will be getting more lax and less restrictive gun control laws going forward. Like Trump overturning the rule that would have restricted access to firearms for individuals classified as having poor mental health.

I think if we have some folks of Sub-Saharan and Middle Eastern descent start exercising their 2nd Amendment rights and suing (and losing) when the right is violated, we might accidentally end up with some strict gun control.

No gun problem here. Nope. None at all.

This is 2 mass shootings in less than 24 hours. Wtf is it going to take in this country?

America DOES love its racial profiling. But then, they'd rather just introduce laws to deport those sub-Saharan and Middle Eastern descent Americans. Or find easier ways to get firearms into the hands of rich white people and give them carte blanche to shoot people on sight based on racial profiling (i.e. the 'ole "I was scared / they were coming at me" defense that white cops use all the time).

Because too many guns can NEVER be the problem. Too many guns can ONLY be the solution.

Just like prohibition made alcohol harder to obtain and US a safer place?

Prohibition doesnt work in a society built on Guns.

Yeah I really don't think they are the same.

As a gun owner, if they banned guns I wouldn't be trying to find ways to sneak them. But if they banned alcohol again, I damn well would be.

Can't wait for so many to start talking about the importance of thoughts, prayers, etc. Can't wait for politicians to talk about how there was no way to stop this from happening. Can't wait for everyone with half a brain to point out the obvious only to be shot down the the death-peddling NRA.

A country built on alcohol and guns. What could possibly go wrong.

Lol I agree, but its true.

You wouldnt, but Rusty up there in the North Georgia mountains? You bet he would. As would many other people throughout this nation. You cant separate them from it because it as much a part of them as free speech or the stars and stripes.

This is why everyone needs to have guns. So that everyone gets shot. Nice logic.

The NRA doesn't want everyone to have guns! They want rich white people to have guns. You bring up making it easier for black people or Hispanics to have guns, the NRA will shoot it down.
