1UP review -- Goldeneye RA

And this is the Xbox version!

All three versions got the same score. At that level, I saw no reason to pick nits between platforms. You don't want to buy any of them.

I don't honestly know whether to call this "murdering the Goldeneye name" or anything like that. Personally, I feel nothing for the original Goldeneye either way, and it's not like this game directly does any violence to its ostensible predecessor. I would say, however, that taken in conjunction with MOH Rising Sun, this makes all of EA's trumpeting of its LA studio sound a little hollow.

But, but... the girl on G4tv.com put this in the same league as Half-Life 2 and Metroid Prime 2!

2 Levels and online play were axed out of the GameCube version

Well, at least you rated Feel the Magic better than GoldenEye. You're not completely soulless. :P

Hey, I liked Feel the Magic. The slingshot mini-game cracked me the fuck up. I just wouldn't shell out $180 for the right to play it at launch.

When EA first announced a successor to the GoldenEye name, our first reponse was to assume the worst, that the publisher was simply looking to trade on another company's much-beloved success. Then, after hearing the sales pitch, we were willing to be a bit more open-minded -- after all, this is an idea that could have a lot of potential in the right hands. Now, though, it looks like we should have trusted our guts.

:lol

Justice is served.

I'll say justice is served when this game bombs at retailers. Which won't happen. It might not do as well as it would have at some other time, especially with all the AAA titles hittng retailers, but it'll do nicely. And people love Agent Under Fire and Nightfire. We get people talking about how great they are in-store all the time. It's a vicious cycle! There is no justice!
