I really hope Shane Bettenhausen the MANGOD does not watch The Hills. I mean really?

Im pretty sure he watches all that crap. Its part of what makes him ManGod.

BTW, when he talks about Lost being the best show on network TV, is HBO considered network or cable? Im assuming its cable right?

Because Lost doesnt even come close to some of HBOs best like The Wire, The Soprano and on and on etc...

Hearing John say "Mom" just freaks me out. Mum!!
I reminds me of when I visited my English friend who now lives in Chicago and he was telling me to put my bags in the 'trunk'. Sellouts!

I haven't listened to the ep yet. I was responding to 'best tv in 15 years'

will listen on way home on subway.

The Wire is probably the single best show of the last 15 years, both network and cable. Personally, it's the best tv show I've ever seen, bar none. But I think it's easily arguable that Lost is the best thing network television specifically has produced, at least during this decade.

Entourage says hi.

Interesting Baldurs Gate tale. Reminds me of the Christmas Eve I spent camped out waiting for copies of Torment to arrive.

The lack of non-Nintendo/Sega stories was a little surprising. Though maybe that simply reflective of the posters or whoever selected stories to read. But then maybe thats simply how different Australia was (or at least my portion), where everyone had a C64 or an Amiga not a NES or SNES.

I was stunned the first time I found out the Sega Master System outsold the NES in PAL regions. PAL tastes in gaming have for the most part never been in line with JPN or the US.

Yep. I love Entourage. I actually cant believe the show is still going, usually HBO wait for something to peak then cancel it. Carnivale and Deadwood say hi in that regard.

Hear, hear. Couldnt agree more - although I think Battlestar Galactica is better than Lost.

Japan I can understand with respect to Commodore hardware, it being completely forgotten in the US surprises me. I know the Amiga did better in PAL land, but I didn't realise the C64 also did as poorly.

But yeah it is different. In Australia for instance the NGC flopped hard. Dunno how the N64 or SNES did.

Shane, i think you're the only reason to listen to the show, but Lost? Really?

Have you people never seen the shield?
I agree 100% with this man! The show just ended its seventh and final season this past Tuesday. If you can pick up or at least rent the series, do it. I have a big gap in my Tuesday viewing now.... :(

I wouldnt say thats particularly true. It was just a marketing thing...

well in Australia anyway...

Was that just the best segway ever? from telling haters to shut the fuck up and play shitty Ur in the Movies right into talking about Ur in the Movies while drunk because it might be fun and they actually talked about it longer than you ever would have thought anyone would have talked about it.

That's because ABC has to make things so people will watch the commercials. That's what Lost is designed around. On HBO your show is designed to be a complete story because all the revenue is from individual payers.

HBO is not network TV. You have to pay for HBO :P

I'm not sure I agree that Lost is the best thing on network TV though. Maybe if you limit it to drama.

:lol Shane is so awesome

It's like the very same reply I would have said about Garnett saying ESS-NESS came out of his mouth instead, except more coherent and less annoying.

Arrested Development says hi as well. Only network show I can think of which ran three seasons and stayed consistently high the whole way through.

I'm not from US but are Seinfeld, The West Wing and The Office (US) network shows?

You guys are all nuts. The greatest network show ever is The Adventures of Briscoe County, Jr. and there is no debate about it.

Mrbob said:
Yup all three were/are.

Eznark we should play some L4D tonight!

I'm hoping to get to it tonight, when are you planning on hopping on?

Seriously, I have the most pathetic problem. I'm staring at my systems and games and my computer...and I am absolutely overwhelmed by the gaming choices I have. I finally accepted a trade on Goozex for Vesperia just so I would finish the damn thing (only a few hours to go I think). The number of games I have sitting on my shelf has literally crippled my ability to choose...so I spent most of the day watching the last season of the Shield.

Mmm I'd say West Wing 1-4 and Seinfeld are both more entertaining and more culturally significant than Lost.

yeah entourage and arrested development are pretty sick also. i watch AD far too frequently, and actually i used to own entourage but got the chance to buy back seasons 1-3 today, best buy had them on sale for 10 bucks each (!!!)

I'd like to watch the wire, unfortunately i don't know much about it but trusted opinions say i'd love it.

and to the dude that mentioned there's a gap in tuesday television now, i feel your pain.

Anybody know what LittleBigPlanet level John is talking about being made after some painter or whatever?

I've never watched Lost, but I love me some Battlestar...

wtf. bsg > lost

shawn you're dead to me.

Huh? hes agreeing that BSG is better than Lost. Or do you disagree with that? Couldnt tell from your post.

BTW, Q for people that like the Office. Do you watch the American one or the UK one? Which do you like better?

If you,

a) havent seen the British Office then you should RIGHT NOW because it RAPES the US version.

b) have seen the British version and like the US one better, go jump off a cliff.

Both versions are excellent TV. Why can't I like both?

I'd like to watch BSG but the name alone is such a turn off. Battlestar....not for me....Gallactica...okay definitely not for me. I hate star trek too.

I keep hearing wonderful things about Battlestar, and at this point in time I do think Lost is probably the best television show I've ever seen, it's just flipping awesome as hell, and I'm uber excited for the next season.

however that chick in the red is very appealing and wth, is that max weinberg on the right??
