ESPN has all their expert picks, and 6 out of 16 experts picked the stors to win it all, including Peter Gammons. Granted, the Angels got picked 6 times as well, but I would like to think that Peter Gammons' pick is a tie breaker.

Jim Tracy deserved better than this. If anything, DePodesta should be the one to go.. his miscalculations have hurt us two years in a row down the stretch. I'm a big fan of Tracy's and I think any team would be lucky to have him as their manager.

overrated? hardly any sane baseball writer picks them for the World Series (see SI or ESPN for instance) and its common knowledge that pitching is their biggest weakness.

i have a feeling that both Boston and the Yankees could get routed this first round.

Maybe in years past (especially when SI picked them to win the WS year after year), but not this year. And I'm not even saying they're better than ever this year - I'm saying, who is overrating them like you claim? No one picked them to repeat, from what I can remember. Hardly anyone is expecting them to even get back to the WS, and plenty of people are expecting the White Sox to eliminate them in this round.

Man, I remember seeing Contreras pitch back when he was on the Cuban All-star team. He was striking everybody out. I thought, "wow, imagine if this guy was in the major leagues!"

When the Yankees got him, I thought for sure he'd become their ace. It's strange how it never worked out for them.
