I really do hope the Astros win it this year. Bagwell/Biggio are due.

They have become the Malone/Stockton of baseball, except not dirty players.

Yuck.

Sea-Level Chacon is the best pitcher we have.

If you hit that curveball, it's because you got lucky.

Thank you, Chacon.

Special thanks to Posada for owning the Angels running game today.

Finally:

Ultimate thanks to the greatest reliever in the history of baseball.

Bomber boosters, unite!
WE FINISH THE JOB IN ANAHEIM

I'm not uneasy, per se...but I don't call it a lock for him to throw gold tomorrow.

He really knows how to pitch, though. If he can throw a comfy first inning, he should be alright for about 6 innings.

I want to jump on Colon early, however; gotta set the tone quickly.

Man it feels good. My ass was glued to my couch through the entire marathon that was this game. You could just feel the collective sigh of relief from Astros fans during that walk-off homerun. Some dude in my neighborhood blew off a boat horn when it happened. I was at one with the world. Come on 'stros, you can do it this year...

that was some sweet ass baseball last night.
Unfortunately I had to leave my tv at 11:00 to catch my bus to beantown at 12:30, so I had to throw it back to the ole black out days when I didn't have MSG and listen to John Sterling commentate the top 9th. Man, those were the good ole days :lol

Yankees win
TTHEEeEEeeeeEEEEE YankeeeeEEESsssss WIN!

He went on and on about how that game was one of the best post season games he's seen in awhile :lol. Oh John, youre such a cornball.

I dont think my nerves can take anymore close games like this one. Pure insanity. <3 Post-season baseball.

No one in this thread should diss the Braves, its not like they are the Cubs.

WTF. Like the Stros have won anything over the years!

At least when the Cubs implode they do it on such a magnificent scale fans don't care anymore by the time the season is over.

Braves choking couldn't have happened to a better team. I will never forgive you Chipper Jones for your comments against Wrigley Field! Losing in such a destructive fashion was such a beautiful thing to see!

Uh, woot woot!

Yankees need to get on Fatty Fat right away. His back and his arm are bothering him, so we should be okay. Then again, it's the Yankees, so I expect like 8 quiet innings before we explode off K-Rod and make him cry.

The Cubs have experience losing in a destructive manner too, don't they Bob?

Just so everyone knows(even though they don't care), MrBob is a standup guy, despite being a Cubs fan =p

He lost his bet to me and paid it right away. Definitely a good guy :)

Cubsfan, on the other hand.....he disappeared as soon as he realized he owed me $20 :lol

Cubsfan has pulled a disappearing act the past 3 years. :lol

Bob is awesome, awesome is Bob. He talks shit but he sticks around to take the heat.

Plus, Bob is about to get his nightmare World Series. Astros vs Chi Sox. :lol

Whoever wins.

I lose.

:lol :lol

I really hope the Cards lose though. Fuck their improved pitching....their hitting still scares the fuck out of me.

I hope the Yanks bunt tonight. We need to move runners over, we need to capitalize on Colon's injuries.

I also hope the first 5 of our order wakes up. This reminds me of last years ALCS--the last 4 games when all the top bats went quiet. Where's A-Rod's MVP swing? Giambi? Shef?! MATSUI!?

Wake up bats! WAKE UP!

Oh yeah, Mussina needs a great first 2 innings to get settled down.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/john_donovan/10/10/donovan1010/1.html

The game, in front of a sold-out crowd in Houston's Minute Maid Park, was filled with quirks. The grand slam and the game-winning homers, both hit to the short porch in left, traveled a mere 335 feet and 338, respectively (if you can respect that).

note to John Donovan:

The "Shot Heard Round the World" went over the Polo Grounds left field fence that was 279 down the line.

Fuck off.

John Donovan is a fucking prick.

As far as sports writers than aren't normally on ESPN, he is by far the one I hate the most. He loves the Red Sox and is just normally a dickhead.

Also, Yanks and Angels(are there any here?) fans, who would you guys be sending out for game 1 of the ALCS?

Yanks I dunno....Randy on short rest or Wang....or even Small? No idea. Pretty sure not Randy....

Angels is either Ervin Santana or Byrd also on really short rest ... I'd think Santana since he made us look like fools during the regular season. Or Washburn if he's healthy? Yikes, no clue.

anyone know anything?

Yanks would probably end up sending Wang for Game 1, and RJ in Game 2 if he doesn't pitch in relief tonight.

T-MINUS 3 HOURS UNTIL ENDGAME

You do realize if it ends up being a Sox/Stros series....

we will become enemies!

yes, but it will be a more friendly rivalry. in a series like that, we'll be more angry at our teams for fucking up, and not pissed at who we're playing.

think opposite of sawx/yankees. white sox fans wouldn't have an Aaron bleepin' Boone, we'd have a Jose "YOU MOTHER FUCKING CHOKE ARTIST" Contreras

:lol Very true.I have no hate towards your team and Id be super happy at this point to even have my team playing in the WS for the first time.

I don't really care who wins too much at this point. I'd like to see the Astros win it, because they took us out and also because Bags and Biggio deserve a ring. I hope the Yankees lose tonight, or just in general. Yankee success is bad for the sport.

After thinking about it... I also hope the Chi Sox don't win. Sorry Eminem, but your team's manager is a gigantic douche, he doesn't need to be rewarded.

:lol :lol :lol Well I can't argue with that. (though he has done a spectacular job so far this year, love him or hate him)

Ozzie and Hawk are the type of guys you absolutely love if they're for your team, but if they're not you can't stand them.

Yo Em. Congrats on your Sox dude. I figured their tank was on E after the emotional ride down the stretch but they've shown heart.

Thanks. Been a fun ride so far.

In better news...

They just said on the YES pregame show that Jaret Wright has been sent to Chicago for a possiblle ALCS Game 1 start. Thats all assuming the yankees win tonight, but it also means someone would have to be bumped off the post season roster to make room for him.

:lol :lol :lol......k thx. maybe Al Leiter for game 2?

GO YANKEES
