Can it possibly be that moving from 3rd is just what he needed? Maybe the batting order shuffle when Carlos left or something.... or else he was just much better than his last 2 shitty years would indicate and he can get back to the level of his rookie year. Either way, I hope it's not just a hot streak (obviously he won't be flirting with .400 but I just don't want him to fall back to .240 with minimal pop) and that he's turned it around with the bat.

As far as I know he changed his batting stance. His arms are raised slightly and that supposedly allows him to cover more area when he swings. That and he seems more comfortable at first base. You can tell he's playing with much more confidence there.

Billy Beane really knows his stuff. With Harden, Blanton and Haren (pretty impressive so far, lots of movement in his pitches), the A's might be looking at another big three. However, I think he should have traded Zito instead of Hudson. Since his Cy Young year (which should have been awarded HANDS DOWN to Pedro Martinez), he has been a complete bust.

he did make a mistake giving money to chavez instead of tejada. keep tejada, then shift crosby to 3rd. obviously its much harder than it sounds and chavez is still great but tejada is just silly.
