Someone must have told Cashman (I still can't get over his name) that ERA's are like salaries.......the higher they are, the better the player. :lol

Late to the party, but I just want to laugh at the Yankees for picking up Tim "nutjob" Redding :lol :lol

That's better than the scouting report for the Bosox RP they just called up from AAA (he was warming up today but didn't play

" He's blind in one eye" I'm so glad they didn't bring him in....we would have been humiliated!

Yes. This is me talking trash after a loss! It's official, I have no shame.

Alvarez was up with the team for an emergency start last year during a double header against the Orioles. He got roughed up a bit, but I think he can modestly contribute this year, which is more than I can say for John Halama-lama-ding-dong.

Is Dusty finally understanding you can't have a .220 average out of your number one and two spots batting? Todays starting lineup is easily the best he has done all year:

Jerry Hairston Jr, CF
Todd Walker, 2B
Derrek Lee, 1B
Jeromy Burnitz, RF
Aramis Ramirez, 3B
Todd Hollandsworth, LF
Neifi Perez, SS
Michael Barrett, C
Carlos Zambrano, P

I'd switch Aram with Burnitz, and get Cedeno some more playing time over Perez, but for now this is actually a pretty decent starting lineup!

Carl Everett is an idiot.

Everett has had gay teammates, whom he has accepted, but: "Gays being gay is wrong. Two women can't produce a baby, two men can't produce a baby, so it's not how it's supposed to be. ... I don't believe in gay marriages. I don't believe in being gay."

• Wrigley Field is the worst park in the majors: "They need to implode Wrigley."

• Most baseball fans don't know diddly: "Fan is short for fanatic -- he's crazy about something he really doesn't know about. And it's proven that 99 percent of baseball fans have no idea what they're watching."

Did you see his manager? It's like a traveling circus! But they keep on winning right now! But they will collapse. Oh yes, they will! :)

MORGAN ENSBERG!!!

It's shocking, even despite his awful year. Everyone projected he'd have a huge rebound year, what with Sexson and Beltre on the M's.

LMAO @ Tony Womack
The Yankees' second baseman-turned-left fielder-turned-center fielder has a chance to win whatever would be the opposite of the Triple Crown. Among qualified batters, through Thursday, Womack ranked last in the American League in home runs (0), last in RBI (11) and 79th out of 86 in batting average (.240).

:lol he's like the anti-Derrek Lee. How pathetic do you have to be to have ZERO homers and only 11 rbi's in an offense with Arod, Sheffield and Matsui? Eventually you'd figure he'd hit one out by accident. Nice offseason signing, Cashman.

I knew his season last year was a fluke. Cards were smart not to resign him.

STOP FUCKING AROUND BATISTA. Halladay should have pitched 9. He's the league's best pitcher and his count wasn't that bad. We can't trust anyone else dammit!

Oh my god. Cubs are down 2-0 going into the bottom of the 9th. On the cusp of being swept at home by the fucking expos. Pathetic!

The "expos"? The "expos" are leading the (second) toughest division in baseball by 5.5 games! At least admit you're losing to a good team.

Wow that was scary. Big series win though. Batista makes for good TV! ugh....At least he's better than Foulke.

Halladay update:

ERA down from 2.40 to 2.33 (1st in AL)

SOs up from 98 to 104 (2nd in AL, passing Randy "I lost to the Tigers" Johnson)

Wins up to 12 (2nd in AL)

If he doesn't start the all star game, I'm going to kill Terry Francona.

-Vernon Wells saved our ass with his outfield assist with the bases loaded

-Red Sox fans will hate Reed Johnson (It's always fun having our 4th OFer be the biggest concern of a team) even more, despite him not winning the game for us

HOLY SHIT! THE NATIONALS ARE HUMAN. THE NATIONALS CLOSER IS TOUCHABLE. RAMIREZ WITH A 2 RUN HOMER WITH TWO OUTS IN THE BOTTOM OF HTE 9TH TO TIE THE GAME!

The Nationals have been getting all the breaks. They suck and keep on winning. It is pissing me off! Now lets get this game won!

You're just setting yourself up for failure.

It's official. Corey Patterson can't do anything right.

OH yes what a SWEET throw by Walker in the top of the 11th. Right past perez on a potential double play AWSOME ERROR runners at 2nd and 3rd no outs now YES.

wilkerson!

Cubs game is pretty good so far. 2 outs, even though Burnitz is slow as a slug I would have sent him home on that play, but that's easy to say when you don't really care about either team or much care who wins. ;)

:lol Holy shit Cubs tie it again.

If the Cubs win this thing in spite of themselves it could be a season-defining moment. Same for the Nat's, they've won pretty much every game "like this" all year and for another team to fluke out a win against them would be poetic justice.

Runners on 2nd and 3rd, still 2 out, Perez just got walked to load the bases. Great game, I'm sure glad I flipped over to this once the Jays game ended and saw it from when the Cubs tied it in the 9th.

This should've been the NL starting 8...

1B D. Lee
2B Kent
SS Lopez
3B Ensberg
LF C. Lee
CF Jones
RF Abreu
C Piazza

Eckstein, Rolen, Edmonds, Beltran? garbage. How can the fans get the AL pretty much right but screw up the NL so bad?

In the GAF Yahoo League, I think I had the most dominating offensive performance yet...

51 Runs
16 HR
49 RBI
.402 AVG (92 HITS!!!!!!!!!!)

Can anyone come even CLOSE to matching that?

Dontrelle is a fucking animal. :(
So is Clemens.

If Clemens had even 10 wins the Cy Young race would be amazing. At the moment, it is all Dontrelle's though. 5 complete games, sub 2 era, 13 wins!? That's insane.
