*looks at Bob*

:lol Cubs with the commanding lead over the Stros in the standings.

MMMM sweet ownage of the Nats by Roy-O :D

3 games over .500 for the first time this year :lol

edit- wtf Yahoo scoreboard lied to me.....COME ON LIDGE DONT FUCKING BLOW THIS W!

schilling blows another lead :lol :lol :lol

...and of course Vizcaino gives it right back to them. WHY IS HE STILL ON THE TEAM. HE IS A FUCKING BUM. ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS

HE GAWN.

Great win for the Red Sox. They never win openers, and to get one against the best team in the AL with their top starter is fantastic.

yea that sucked. Giambi got screwed too on that call- that was ball 4. Not that Bernie would have done anything anyway though...prolly would have just hit into a 2-4-3 dp.

Yeah, we figured there's no way in hell the Braves will stay down below the Nats. Nats are about to tank. We'll just beat you in the first round again. (Ignores anything between 1998-2003)

Torre lost that game for us.

No he didn't, your bullpen lost it. It's not Torre's fault that your guys didn't perform.
Quit throwing blame around, you sound like an idiot.

I know it's easy to say "managers can't win games, but they can lose them" but this wasn't that case.

ocelittle:
FOB! The way Torre handled his pitching staff during the seventh was clearly his decision as well as putting up the clutch hitting Posada. So I'll point this out to you in case your too much of an idiot to figure it out...IMO Torre lost that game for us.

damn, this ties our longest losing streak of the season. 3 games. wow. i guess that's why we're 30 games over.
still, that's impressive to be near the end of july and have 3 games as your longest losing streak.

Thomas and Wood should go on fucking tour! Send him away, too. I'm ready to move on without Kerry Wood. I'm sick of waiting for him to come back and back and back and get injured again and again and again! Lets deal him for another pitcher! It is time to get it done the rest of the year without him!

Also, rumor mill is talking about the Cubs getting Kearns? I don't know if I'm too excited about that. I'd rather have Damon. From ESPN Insider:

Johnny Cub?
Jul 22 - Johnny Damon can be a free agent after the season and admitted Thursday night before the Red Sox-White Sox game that he would have interest in the Cubs, who are having center-field problems, the Chicago Tribune reports. "I'll have my eyes open to any team with interest in me, but the Cubs would have an appeal," Damon told the newspaper. "The fans were not really on me when we played at Wrigley Field in June. They were rooting for me to come to Chicago. They have guys like Derrek Lee and Aramis Ramirez to drive me in, but I wouldn't mind staying here where I've got [Manny] Ramirez and [David] Ortiz to get me home."

:D

Too bad we won't be able to get him till after the season is over....

yeah, good thing you guys kept wood and let clement leave =p

also, fuck that. i love damon. to see him in a cubs uniform would hurt my heart =(

the way Boston's front office is, i doubt they offer Johnny any kind of long term deal anyway. PRobably no more than 2 or 3 years max. I would be cautious of signing him though. He's getting old, and about due for a fall off numbers-wise. He was never THAT great defensively in center anyway, with that noodle arm of his.

Did the Nat's turn into a pumpkin exactly at the All Star break or was it actually a few days before? :lol Guess all those sabermetrics guys who said that their first half record was a lot of luck and that those 1-run games could have gone the other way were onto something.

Woo BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRNNNNNNUUUUUUTTTZZZZZZ robs Pooholes of a home run! :D

Tight game, 1-1 going into the tp 7th now.
