Sorry buddy. It's over. Congrats on scaring the crap out of us though.

There's that assuming stuff...you'll soon learn to never assume. I learned it more than ever this year, hell when Biggio hit that 3 run homerun against Wagner in the ninth, to David Bell hitting a 2 run homerun to win it after going up 6-1 and then down 10-6, to have a 5-3 lead in the 8th to see Urbina suck up the place and lose it to the Mets...

You know, Gregg Maddux has never done anything to benefit the Phillies. Well he's got a chance tomorrow to make it to my good list. My boy Oswalt also has a chance to make me like him more...by sucking. The Cubs better win, cause I've got playoff tickets(I'm just assuming the Phillies will win Monday if there is a playoff game between the Phils and Astros, even though If thre is one thing I've learned this year is to never assume).

GO CUBS!
GO PHILLIES!

What, going 1-5 against the Phillies wasn't enough? Cubs don't owe the Phillies a damn thing! :lol Phillies shouldn't have lost 2 of 3 to the Mets. ;)

Having said that, I hope the Cubs win along with the Phillies to force a one game playoff. Maddux needs his .500 season.

Miguel don't curse your team! :lol

Matrix, chill.

Like I said, you guys gave us a scare over the past 6+ weeks, but, it's not gonna happen for you. The sooner you accept it, the sooner you can get over it and start enjoying the other playoff teams.

Edit: Sorry, we don't have Bartman.

You're right, the Phillies shouldnt have lost 2 of 3 to the Mets. If Urbina didn't suck so much, they wouldn't have. That game was so painful, and then the following night was pretty bad too. Fortunately that's over and done with, and they managed to stay in this thing somehow.

If anybody finds a larger version of this, I'd be very thankful.

"I love how the home plate ump is trying his level best to give the Bosox an edge--I can see why Johnson's so pissed. Last night was even more blatant: "Hello, Wang. You're a sinkerball pitcher that lives off the low strike. Instead, we shall take it away completely, making you elevate and throwing you off completely!" See: Year high in walks, sac fly.

I just wish they wouldn't be so blatant."

I doubt you've played baseball, and being completely biased to one side makes it hard for you to see that a variety of factors played into the way was being called today, especially the fact that sun/shade differences make it very hard to call. Plus, Wakefield was also having a problem getting strikes called as well. It wasn't just Johnson.

Let's not forget the non-call of Matsui running way out of the baseline in the 8th.

OH NOES! Conspiracy against Boston too! MLB is EVIL!!

how did the Yanks win the division? I always thought that if 2 teams end up tied recordwise, they go to a 1 game playoff.

With the Indians unable to finish tied with both the Yanks and Sox tomorrow, it means that the Yankees win the division based on winning the head-to-head season series with the Sox.

The point is that if the Red Sox win tomorrow, no matter what both the Red Sox and the Yanks will be in the playoffs. So a one game playoff for bragging rights about winning the AL EAST is pointless because the World Series is what it's all about.

Is that plain enough english for the boys in Lubbok?

Jaret Wright will be going for the Yankees tomorrow instead of Mussina. A Yankees loss coupled with an Angels win means that the Yankees will be flying to Anaheim for game one of the ALDS.

Today's the day boys! Final day of the regular season. Doesn't get much better than playoff baseball(it can only be better with the Phillies in it, though, it's been a while)!

GO CUBS!
GO PHILLIES!
GO EAGLES!

dear red sawx,
consume big papi penis.
kind regards,
solrac.

Big Papi had a double, but it was in the third and not in the ninth, so it was meaningless. Sorry Big Papi, if we can't put it on the highlight reel, then you lose out.

Now, A-Rod on the other hand, he had a wonderful day, but since the Yankees won, it was also meaningless. Therefore, the AL MVP goes to Tony Womack.

Game tightening up in Houston now. Cubs score 2 in the 5th so it is 3-2 now. Damn maddux gets that bunt down it is a tie game.

Barrett with another RBI in the 6th off of Oswalt! Talk about irony! Barrett owning Oswalt today! :lol Tie game 3-3 in the 6th.

The whole "Yankees can't beat schilling because he gives up 500 hits and then strikes out the ass of our team" routine is really annoying.

Dear Mr. Torre,

Stop playing Ruben Sierra.

Thanks.

Manny has just been huge for the Red Sox this week. Everyone looks at Ortiz's game tying and winning hits against the Blue Jays to keep the Sox alive, but Manny had a huge two-run blast in that game to give them a chance. And today, Manny is once again doing his part.

Theo, please don't trade this guy.

It appears that Matt Clement will start game one. I'm nervous about that.

So it's looking like Clement against Contreras. Interesting.

I'm glad it's Clement, since he's about the only starter of yours people on the White Sox not named Carl Everett can hit.

Here is some simple math for everyone...

The Mets lost for the fourth time in 16 games and finished 83-79, their best season since reaching the 2000 World Series.

15= 1+5 =6 Next year is 2006... 6 years after 2000 the last time the Mets were in the WS... NEXT YEAR IS THE YEAR OF BELTRAN!

7 is next to the number 6...

5... 6?

4... 5... and then? 6
