2006 AIAS Interactive Achievement Award finalists announced

Old? I searched for "interactive achievement," or something like that, and saw nothing. It's been a pretty solid year, to say the least.

no RE4 as overall GOTY, GAF goes nuts.

At least Shadow of the Colossus and Guitar Hero made it

No SotC for soundtrack? :|

What...the....Resident...Evil...WHAT?

At least we know a PC game won't win it this year, like it has before.

:lol They didn't nominate RE4 in any category?

Damn you're right. lol....

And where's Geometry Wars?

...And Dragon Quest VII? Buh?

No GT4 for racing game of the year?

RE4 at least should've been nominated in the animation catagory, all the animations in RE4 were to smooth and believable.

Jaffe should be happy, he's about to be getting more awards.

I say, it must be a huge relief to him. Sony putting millions into development of an original IP(that's a scary position right there), 3 years of work. That's some major pressure. Remember how in the demo Jaffe pratically spelled it's doom and gloom for the studio if this game failed?

Kick ass Jaffe!!

Condemned better win for sound

edit: wait, no RE4 nominations? WTF? I don't care how much of an arty farty softie you are, there is no way in hell you can declare SoTC or Nintendogs being all around better video games than RE4.

What's wrong with the PC version of Call of Duty 2? I have to assume that's the 360 version they nominated, since the PC version isn't in the computer category.

Talk about losing any and all credibility.

Letting Splinter Cell win console game of the year in 2002 but not be nominated for overall GOTY pretty much set that in stone.

If Guitar Hero doesn't sweep, I'll be disappointed.

And if SotC even comes CLOSE to winning anything, I'll be disappointed.

d. Original Music Composition

- God of War (P: Sony Computer Entertainment America, D: Sony Computer Entertainment America-Santa Monica)

- Rise of the Kasai (P: Sony Computer Entertainment America, D: Bottlerocket Entertainment)

- Gun (P: Activision, D: Neversoft Entertainment)

- Jade Empire (P: Microsoft, D: Bioware)

- Kameo: Elements of Power (P: Microsoft, D: RARE)

I guess they didnt want SotC to pull a Lord of the Rings or something, but how do you leave one of the best compositions videogaming has ever heard off this list with a straight face I dont know.

I don't think Shadow of the Colossus was developed by SCEA, though they keep insisting it was. And Katamari is a kid's game!? Weird.

If Kameo deserves mention for anything, it's the music.

I thought the KOTOR soundtrack was superior to Jade Empire's.

No RE4, no GT4? Where's DQVIII?

And Shadow doesn't deserve GOTY. RE4 does. And it isn't even on there!

Dragon Quest 8 is there, but they accidently put up Dragon Quest 7

No Resident Evil?!

And SotC better not win in animation, unless AIAS likes girly man running animations.

Only if you ignore transitional animations of various movements, in which there are loads of and then there is the horse and colloussii themselves. SOTC should win.

The only sane reason for not including RE4 is because they MUST think it released in Dec. 2003... that's the only explaination for it's omission.

Congrats to David Jaffe, this is a good sign of things to come IMO.

But I'm a little pissed about RE4 not being in any category.

I almost thought it made it onto last year's nomination since it was so close to 2004. But bleh.

Kick ass Jaffe!!

He's got a decision to make now. After completing GoW he said if there's a sequel that he wouldn't direct it, but I don't think he expected it to have this type of success both in sales and critically.

No Advent Rising nomination for original music.

No Phantom Dust nomination.

How the heck is GoW innovative? The other 4 nominations at least are arguably innovative in some respect.

No Geometry Wars nomination for Downloadable Game.

No RE4 nomination.

No DMC3 nomination.

No Burnout Revenge nomination.

THE SUCK! :p

Uhhh...Call of Duty 2?

It looks like they nominated the Xbox 360 version, because it's not listed in the PC category. Who knows though.

In either case, I think God of War is a lock.

Screw RE4, you guys need to understand how insane that MLB 2K5 nomination is!

It's seriously one of the worst sports games ever created.

I suggest you listen to the Kameo soundtrack

If thats the case, that deserves a big WTF. PCversion is far better than the busted x360 version(better and functional multiplayer, better graphics, kb+m)

What are the nomination requirments for games? Maybe RE4 was denied because of its early release date?
