So everybody's hating on Westbrook for getting to the line, but it's apparently exactly what makes him a more effective scorer than Derrick Rose.

Yet, perversely, if [Rose] wants to really win, and climb to the top of his profession, he is incented to hone the art of trading the game's best moments -- acrobatic scores in the paint -- for the very worst the NBA has to offer: standing around waiting for free throws.
Contrast that, for instance, with Westbrook's bull-in-a-china-shop approach, and there's no question which one is easier on the eyes. Rose's tactic is less effective on the scoreboard because Westbrook is taking twice as many foul shots every night.
Take THAT, anti-Westbrook GAF. Great players get to the line, period. :P

I'll admit that Rose is more fun to watch than Westbrook much of the time

seriously. were it just pau holding us down i'd get it, the dude's being run into the ground, but it felt like everyone was crap. at least kobe didn't attempt mamba mode and shoot us to death.

I will never support the use of Durantics. Anyone see the free throws got on that 3 the other night? Ugh.

If Boozer is playing then Lakers win.

Jazz must win tonight.

If the young players of the NBA all turn into foul baiters, I'll stop going to games and will definitely not watch any more games on TV. It slows the game down so much to have teams at the line so much. I'd almost prefer they'd go street ball rules and just put do away with foul shots and award a new shot clock (unless it's for an intentional foul) rather than see foul shots inflate any more than they have.

Things are looking up though.

Apparently Theo Ratliff and Bynum will both be back before the roadie is over.

Hopefully Pau's hamstring hasn't exploded by then.

When he didn't even have control of the ball and just threw his arms up and they whistled Brew for a foul?

Did he do it then too? He went to shoot a 3 and AK backs off so he didnt get any contact and Wade leaned in as far as he could and even twisted his body just so his hand would make some contact, it was pretty hilarious.

The "under the arm" move is bad but this was on another level.

OK, there's a crucial difference. KD does engage in foul-baiting much of the time--that is, intentionally initiating contact (often on the perimeter) with little intention of getting off a good shot.

Westbrook's fouls are almost all when he drives to the basket and willingly accepts contact, but with a good chance at converting the shot as well. While Rose's ability to avoid contact makes him more fun to watch, getting to the line is a crucial aspect of being an effective and efficient scorer in the NBA. I think the article makes a good point.

This is just annoying, but brilliant. It will force a player to not use his arms to guard up. Once the defender gets called for a foul he will leave his hands down which will lead to alot of rise and fire jumpers. Thanks KD. You broke the NBA.

The Sweep threw is some deadly bs in the post. Amare does it quickly, spinning on his pivot, all the time and gets the call. Then guys start taking their hands off him and its easy for him to drive are pull up.

Games of the night:

Tier I (must watch):

Lakers @ Bulls -- No explanation needed, really. Will Boozer make the difference?

Magic @ Jazz -- With both teams underperforming lately, this game is a battle of the Dws: Dwill and Dwakeem.

Tier II (should be good):

Thunder @ Hornets -- The league's two most bipolar teams. Hornets have negative home field advantage so this game probably won't be that good, but eh... Hornets need some love.

Rockets @ Bucks -- Perhaps the fastest team in the league against the slowest team in the league. If nothing else, this should be entertaining.

Trailblazers @ Suns -- Blazers aren't totally dead, and the Suns have been playing better recently.

Tier III (tune in if it's close):

Bobcats @ Pacers -- I get the feeling that the Bobcats' brand of shameball will slow the Pacers. Just a guess though.

Knicks @ Wizards -- A battle of the All-Star PGs with Raymond Felton and John Wall? Sign me the fuck up!

Hawks @ Spurs -- With Joe Johnson out, I think the Hawks actually match up better with the Spurs than they do with him in.

Heat @ Warriors -- I don't really think the Warriors have a chance here, but am open to their surprising me.

Tier IV (for fans of the teams only):

Nuggets @ Raptors -- I might Watch this game just in case I see Toronto lose on a buzzer-beating NENE THREEEEEE

Pistons @ Timberwolves -- Once again, Love will have another 20/20 game, and once again no one care.

Great games tonight.

Is there a Youtube video of this? I haven't seen too many Thunder games this year.

Vegas has the Bobcats as 6pt favorites.

Will Granger make Wallace his bitch again? Will DJ make Collison look insignicant and Wall-like on the court? Will MJ send one of his many whores down to Larry Brown's office knowing full well that she won't be coming back?

Is the December 10th episode (no. 626) out yet?

So Heat got injury exception for Haslem, which gives them another spot to sign someone.

Possibly bring back one of the rookies we had, or maybe yet another vet like Rasheed or something.

smh if you think Sheed is re-signing with anyone not named the Boston Celtics.

Knicks - 49
Wizards - 54
Half

What a blah half. Knicks shot well but the offense has no flow tonight. Amar'e is making silly TOs now, he's got 15 points but McGee is playing him tough. Chandler and Gallo should be destroying the Wizards with their matchups, why do they have 8 FGA combined? Felton has to look to get it more to those guys, or Amar'e do an in-out kickout. Knicks are right there just like the Minny/Toronto game, Lets see if the script is the same.

Friday Night MSG,
Knicks and Wizards is the Game Of The Week...
The Wiz got Wall,
it's time to play ball,
This I gotta see (Heyyyyy)

I gotta GET THERE...
as fast as I can!

Bulls look like they are lost out there on the court....maybe their team puppy ran away.
man, f any team in the nba had a team puppy I'd probably start watching their games just for the puppy.

good to see the lakers are concious today. i dread the inevitable lazy slouching.
