Because the Knicks have a better record, more impressive hot streak, and have beaten better teams than the Mavs and Spurs? That makes sense, I guess.
Not like the knicks are much bettter than they were last year...

captmcblack said:
wtf, there are only two other games on right now, and unfortunately Sixers-Age, Nets-Age and Hornets-Age aren't here to discuss any basketball :lol
The Frankman said:
Raptors have done nothing except be a farm system for NBA talent. Mind yours.
Which team has had the fewest playoff appearances since 2001?
Nets
Bobcats
Hornets
Charlotte Hornets
Sixers
Knicks

Knicks fans just ask for it... people were saying it was good win and all but AM I PRETTY NOW DADDY? shit just keeps on going

The Frankman said:

Only NBA Talent the Knicks been seeing in the Aughts were wearing Away Uniforms. This is all while having a bloated payroll year in and year out.

Oh, and PS? Last time your busted franchise actually made the Playoffs? Raptors politely escorted your ass out.

Level up. 8 game winning streak, and your team still ain't on Toronto's level.

Oh, and I forgot Manu. So that makes the MVP ranking:

Dirk
Deron
Manu
Dwight
Rose
Ed Davis
Amare

Seriously, who fucking cares?

They are winning the games in front of them.
You're right, it's irrelevant that during this streak they've won two against Toronto, two against Charlotte, and one each against Sacramento, Minnesota, Golden State, New Jersey, the Clips and the Wiz.

A win is a win, but it's undeniable that their recent schedule has been pillow-soft, and that fact probably has something to do with their winning streak.

Amar'e leading the MVP discussion right now is ludicrous.

If they're still cruising along after December, I'll be leading Amar'e for MVP bandwagon.

I don't know why cats are entertaining sharp and gondo but you really can't see the saltiness? Really? I'm loving it personally.

Sharp i want you posting during every Knicks game, I need it in my life!

SVG is right... people really do forget about Dwight.
He's improved a lot - but his team has taken a step back and I just can't see him winning it over any of the other guys mentioned.

I only watch good games unless there's nothing else on.

I don't think he's the leading candidate just because the rest of his team is awful, but I definitely think he's up there. Probably around the same level as Rose.

No, you really wouldn't. You would find some other reason to hate the knicks. And you would find some reason to why Amare isn't the top MVP candidate.

First your Amare hate arguement was David Lee>Amare. Then you were on the Amare is nothing without Nash bandwagon. Now you say he looks good because the teams he's playing suck.

Stoudemire Sets Franchise Mark In Win

RealGM said:
The Knicks topped the Nuggets 129-125 on Sunday afternoon thanks to 30 points and eight rebounds from Amar'e Stoudemire.

Stoudemire has scored at least 30 points in eight straight games, a franchise record.

He is averaging 26.1 points, 9.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game for New York this season.

Stoudemire's scoring streak started on Nov. 28 against the Pistons. He's averaging 33.9 points during the streak.

JUST GIVE HIM THE TROPHY

I would say something like 'act like you've been there before', but clearly Knicks-age hasn't. Not everyone can handle things with class like Carolina Sports-age...

Yeah we did miss you on friday...
Beating the Wizzzzzzzz is something you share with the Kings. I still probably would have watched the game if I hadn't been watching the Bulls-Lakers game on an actual TV though.

SamuraiX- said:
Wtf is going on in New Jersey? How is it a 2 point game? :lol

Whoa, Lakers shooting 41.3% against the Nets? The Nets?!

We are so shitty right now plus Pau can't play vs. any good bigs. Only way LA wins this is if Kobe stays hot and Fish stays on the bench

Nobody's even here with that "am i pretty now daddy" bullshit.

We are literally being told that we cannot post frequently during Knicks games - win or lose - for all sorts of nebulous reasons like "acting like we've been here before", or "the team they were playing is bad", or everything else under the Sun. I know this is NBA-Age and shit is talked here, but honestly its sort of fucked up that even on a morning where there are no other games except for this Knicks game and the few regular Knicks-Age posters, we still can't post about the game without being criticized. Shit, at least discuss the basketball being played on the court - when other teams are playing and they're getting shit like we are (like Lakers-Age), at least they talk about stupid basketball shit the Lakers are doing, like the game they're playing right now :lol

But the point is, last year they weren't running off 8 straight, regardless the opponent.

Give credit where credit is due.

Raptors made it in 2004?

Seriously, have people forgot the offseason thread where apparently NEts had a better offseason than the Knicks, and The Knicks somehow would be a worse team than last year by signing Amare and Felton? People have short memories.

I have been there before, this isn't new were hated when we were good, we were hated on when we were terrible, shit doesn't change. I don't think anyone’s overeating about it, we're just pointing it out...

I encorage it personally. :D

I'm not saying shit until this game is over.

Edit: Amare has to at least be in the running for MVP, something that he never really got a fair shake for in Phoenix. He's definitely at the top of the "earning that FA contract money" pile. Right now I would only put Dirk and maybe Deron in front of him, Spurs are too well-rounded to put Manu up there.

:lol You are hilarious. Yes, let's argue about what I would or wouldn't do in the future. And all of those arguments I made were extremely successful
trolls
. Seriously, you have the thinnest skin on GAF.

I'll clarify my earlier statement: If the New York Knicks have a .600 winning percentage on New Year's Day, Amar'e deserves to be the leader for MVP.

Who said anything today?

?

don't say thekad, he's in the middle of identity crisis right now and Sharp is in Wall Denial

God damn it Nets are frustrating... down by one and they start panicking and chucking threes with tons of time on the clock.

Wall just needs to bulk up a little and a different coach and he'll be shitting all over the league. That shit doesn't affect my judgment.

NeoGAF wasn't even around when the Knicks were good. Wtf are you talking about? :lol

Gosh how I miss Farmar's signature move of shooting and missing a 3 during fast breaks. :lol

In fairness, he should be able to bring up shit talked about two week ago that keeps getting posted.

I love how non-factual anti-Knicks GAF is. Especially Raptors-age, thinking last playoffs were in 2001 (dy_nasty making the same mistake, as he does tons anyway).

8 game winning streak, including wins against New Orleans and Denver... 13 out of the last 14... Great results on the road since the beginning of the year... Amare on pace to catch up and lead all scorers, Felton getting closer to averaging 19/9...

Anti-Knicks GAF went like this in october: "Amare won't score 20 a game without Nash. He'll be lucky to get 18 on 45%. Felton will average 12/5. 24-58 record. blablabla".

Just suck it.

The Frankman said:

By all means.

And speaking of shit from the past, I expect my avatar from Knicks-age to better than that bullshit that TCB made for Branduil.

Lakers fans always talk about how teams step up their games against them but they never bring up the fact that opposing players' balls shrivel into raisins in the final minutes of the game.

And honestly Knicks fans, I expected the Nuggets to win. So congratulations on finally beating a team that wasn't shitty or dead.

Okay Dr. Genius. When was the Knicks last winning season? You want credit for Isiah Thomas taking Lenny Wilkins' will to live - take it.
Who said Felton would put up 12/5? I said he had a good shot at putting up 18/8 so please tilt your head back.

New Orleans has been dead for a while, but people actually JUST gave yal props for a good win.

It's almost like the Lakers have home court advantage with all the bandwagoners at the game.

Nets are particularly prone to it because they have no stars. It doesn't matter if it's the Lakers, Knicks, or Heats.

Sorry wasn't talking about just here. Thought that was clear. But even here in the last couple of years some people were giving the Knicks way too much attention given how relevant they were.
