Cavs have no stars either but they still have great HCA.
The Nets arena has never been particularly active. Even when Jason Kidd, RJ, and Kenyon were together they weren't getting all that much from their crowd.

This is NEW JERSEY we're talking about here.

The New York area (North Jersey, NYC, LI, Southern Conn) is knick country. If your a basketball fan and you live in the area 85% of them are knick fans. They are just like the clippers in the shadow of the bigger team in the area.

The arena is just terrible and its in a natural pothole.

Speaking of which, I thought I saw The Frankman's pic in the photo thread rocking a Mets lid.

Say it ain't so, Frankman!

Say it ain't so.

The Newark arena is actually quite nice. If I still lived in Jersey I'd go all the time.

Feel bad for them seeing the permanent devils logos on the back of the seats a reminder that they have no real home.

Game a little sloppy early on.

Wes Matthews made like 3 mistakes that last possession. Didn't pass it to Pryz with RJ on him (twice), and got blocked terribly on a weak drive. :/

That game was sad. We can't even dominate the nets. But I'll take any W I can fucking get right now. That's for damn sure.

And Jordy is the same old Jordy. Which is trash.

It's a testament of how shitty the Nets are actually.

The Lakers shot 41% and got destroyed in the paint 58-32.

Gasol had a mere 15 points.

The Lakers played a fucking horrible game and still won by 7.

But I agree, as shitty as the game was executed, I will take Ws any way I can get them.

G-Hill MVP torchin' them.

Portland sure knows how to grind a game down to their pace. Decent defense too. Their offensive output, particularly in their second unit, is highly suspect though. For that reason, I have very little fear of a comeback...POR simply can't score.

BTW Amare is clearly MVP up to this point IMO. Thank goodnmess for this trade to expose all the dishonest sportwriters who claimed Nash "made" him even though he was a beast before Nash ever got to Phoenix. Oh and how's it going for the 2-time MVP these days? :lol
:lol :lol :lol

Thats right, talk shit about the suns, even though no one in suns-age is talking shit about you, big reppin right there guy. I hope you're here talking the same shit if you go on a 10game losing streak. Though of coure you won't be. Even though all you seem to be doing is picking up ex suns as the major components of your current win streak. Suns who couldn't get it done in the play offs.

And for the record, nash is doing work this season, it's going fine for HIM, for the suns? god, they're falling apart, without lopez there's no D, no bigs rotation, no one to block out the rebounds. It's horrible to watch.

Amare is the mvp leader right now. Then Dirk and Manu.

You hate on the knicks whenever you mention them. Your tune will change when Amare kills half your squad.

Dirk, Rose, Deron, Dwight, then maybe amare. Driks been by far and away the best player in the NBA since the season start, it's insane what he's doing over there in Dallas. And it's not even close for second place.

Also, :lol you're so bitter. a decade of frustration being released here or something? you talk so much shit.

We almost beat the C's already, in Boston. We def could lose though.

To be fair, the suns regularly beat the C's over the last decade, their bigs usually can't keep up with Amare in transition. If kg's healthy... who knows. But they certainly have a chance, for what ever reason they don't play well against Mike D's sets.

Seriously, who fucking cares?

They are winning the games in front of them.

Truth, you want to be a good team, these are the teams you're meant to be beating.

trolls
. Seriously, you have the thinnest skin on GAF.

I'll clarify my earlier statement: If the New York Knicks have a .600 winning percentage on New Year's Day, Amar'e deserves to be the leader for MVP.

Why? thats a silly statement to make. If the Mavs keep on their hotstreak Dirk could have the MVP won by new years day.

Fuck you Andrew Bynum.

Regardless of today's game, if the Lakers lose HCA as a result of that 4 game slide, the blame goes squarely at his feet.

Bynum, even when not on the court acting like a shelfish 4yr old making stupid decisions, he's hurting the lakers. (I know he adds a size match up nightmare for teams, and the bigs rotation is so damn solid with him, but i can't see how anyone can like the guy).

MVP watch goes like this for now IMO:
1. Dirk Nowitzki
2. Manu Ginobili
3. Amare Stoudemire
4. Dwight Howard (lost 4 in a row, momentum)
5. Kobe Bryant / Derrick Rose

Most portland games are.

I get it, it's their style. And it wins them games. But i really can't stand watching it.

Unlike the run and gun, above the rim play of them Spurs

Sounds like someone who hasn't been watching the Spurs this year.

But even with the old Spurs teams, you had great offensive execution even with the slow pace. This POR team can't run a play right. A turnover after almost every timeout (no exaggeration).

Eh, at least the spurs game seems to have some fluidity to it. The portland ones are just scrappy. Or so they always appear.

Why no Deron? He's been so good.

Oh for sure, he's in the running. I'm really interested in seeing where they'll end up. I hope they'll do great actually... Deron is so underrated (even when compared to a Brandon Roy), I've always loved Kirilenko's game and Millsap/Jefferson might be Eddy Curry/Zach Randolph done right...

AK seems to be in another funk. It's why their play has dropped off a bit lately.

Scary how much that team relies on him playing well.

NEW YORK -- Carmelo Anthony has told the Denver Nuggets he will not sign the nearly $65 million contract extension he has been offered unless he is traded to the New York Knicks, a source told ESPN.com on Sunday.

get it done!

One thing about Melo today, he was smiling throughout the whole game, it was eery. It did feel like this game was somewhat weird to him. I'm not sure I wouldn't rather get him as a free agent and have either Gallo or Chandler coming from the bench.

Dirk is shooting 57% this year, 43% on threes. That's just ridiculous. I've checked past seasons, he's never had a start like this before. How many players are still getting better at 32?

Regular season form.

(he'll come back down to his averages. Then the Mavs will start losing and everyone will forget this hot start)

Weakest MVP pool ever.

It's funny cause it's some of the best talent depth the league's seen in awhile. All the best teams are too stacked. I think Miami will keep it going from now on, but Wade and Lebron are going to split the load so evenly - I actually get a sense Wade's going to have the better season here on out. And Boston/LA are really balanced. I think Manu as good as he's been, would be a bizarre choice for MVP. I guess if they keep the record up, but his stats won't tell the story. My list:

Dirk (well deserving thus far)
Amare
Rose/Deron
Manu
Howard

BOOM.

If this is true, Denver will go to Donnie Walsh and take whatever he's given - or he will walk for nothing July 2011. :lol

Why would Denver help him now? Knicks have nothing to offer
