There's nothing to be done. Sitting out a season won't make his knees any better.
What do you think the Blazers should do?

As of now they're risking slipping into the "never good enough to contend but never bad enough to get a high draft pick" Indiana Pacers region.

I got no fucking clue. I think they'll wait to see how the team plays up to February to decide a course of action. They've played extremely well the past five games. The schedule is still giving it to them up the ass, so I can see the rationale in them waiting for the schedule to ease up.

I'm with Gondo. Roy's expiration date seems to be looming closer and closer. I think your best bet would be to trade him for picks and possibly some young talent.

Don't necessarily have to blow up the team, but it'll be hard to contend with Roy as your franchise player of the future.

That move to bring in Matthews is looking smarter each day. Before I thought it was as much about screwing the Jazz as it was getting better, but he'll help out a lot there with Roy ailing.

I never proposed trading Roy--in fact, I'm guessing he would be extremely hard to move considering his contract and health issues. You'd probably get peanuts in return, anyway.

There's some good young talent still on the roster, with LMA, Batum, Wes Matthews and some others. But the Oden and Roy injuries have really put them in a tough spot.

Nobody's going to take him on with his contract. Plus, this trade talk is also some "Chicken Little" thing. I'd like to think that his BBIQ is smart enough to be a key player on any quality team.

It's like peterb0y is doing a stand-up routine at a comedy club and the rest of the room is just checking their FB updates on their phones.

No he's right, it did. I think they took it away because they felt it was used too often and degraded the quality of discussion.
In other words...

Who's going to give them picks for Roy? Gilbert Arenas has better value at this point...

Crazy enough shit has happened in the past. You never know. :lol

I guess I would try to at least play this season out... but damn, their situation just sucks right now.

Can anyone give me updates on the status of Boston's bigs?

Shaq
J.O.
Perkins

What's the deal with each of them and when is each expected to return? I know Shaq has sat out the last couple of games with a sore right calf. He should be good to go within a week or so, right?

Here's to hoping all their bigs, along with Delonte, can be back in time for the Playoffs so they can make a healthy run.

Wow...if he keeps playing, he's going to be one of those dudes in a wheelchair or on crutches forever at like 40 or something. It was sad watching players end up old before their time like that when the 50 Greatest were walking in 1997. :(
McGrady :(

That's unfortunate about Roy. He will not be the same player in five years that's for sure.

Shaq has been sore, he'll probably play a few games/sit a few games for a while. Jermaine O'Neal's knee is so bad that he can't even practice. I really hope he retires soon, stupid Ainge gave him a 3 year deal at the MLE...........

Perk should be back at the all-star break.

If a player retires he still stays on your cap for another year anyway, might as well hang onto him as an expiring.

Coach Larry Brown suggested for the first time that his players aren’t listening to him. That’s a big deal. It was telling that owner Michael Jordan interceded after the game, addressing the team. I hear it got really loud in there.
Please don't let MJ coach Based God...

Not sure if this was brought up before, but the great Antoine Walker gave a fantastic interview on Spider and the Henchmen on Friday (for those who don't know it is hands down the best sports podcast out there). Hench (and myself) fully expected to come out of that interview hating Toine even more (though each of us for different reasons). I always hated the way he played and that retarded shimmy. Hench and the rest of Boston hated him for the color of his skin as is their MO.

Anyways, I was shocked to find out that Antoine is actually a really likeable guy who acts nothing like his on court persona. He is playing in the D league now hoping that some playoff team picks him up for a late push. Hope he gets his chance and starts playing closer to the basket now.

JO counts as a big man?

Yeah. And if he never turns in official retiring paperwork you retain their bird rights forever, like with Keith Van Horn.

Yeah, you keep telling us how good that show is...I still haven't heard an episode yet.

Aight, aight I'll give it a listen.

He's so good, he held out until a true contender offered him a contract. That's why he didn't sign with anyone for two months. No one else wanted to offer him a contract because they knew he would reject their puny team.

It really is that good. Not like the Spurs record good, I am talking like the 2008-09 banners for the Lakers good.

Speaking of which, gonna see someone get blown the fuck out this Friday when the Lakers comes to town. Hope the Lakers are the ones doing the blowing and hope that Bynum is back.

So injury riddled for so long, the #Timberwolves now will get both Flynn and Webster back together on the same nite Tues at Golden State
That's right, NBA. Our mediocre shooting guard (that's really a SF), and our below average point guard are back. Get ready, you're all on notice.

And it only took Flynn complaining to the press that he was ready and being held back by Rambis to get Jonny back. That's a functional organization and healthy player-coach relationship right there.

Mac10 said the same thing of the Blazers. They responded with a four game win streak. Somehow I doubt the Cats will respond the same.

JO would easily be the best center on the Heat right now.

Oh really? The same JO that grabbed like a total of 5 rebounds in the series against Boston?

And you are all right. JO is as good as Joel Anthony at this point. That says a lot about JO.
