He's had one game, in which he shot .250.

I'm talking about tonight. I didn't watch the game against ATL so I wouldn't know.

Not nearly as great as he was when he left.

Hopefully he can start tapping into his inner 2009 Playoffs Hedo soon.

I don't see why he can't. He really doesn't look like hes dropped off physically.

I'm a believer.

Magic have missed some layups but honestly, thats par for the course for this personnel. None of the guys they acquired are great finishers.

Expect them to miss layups.
Have you watched any basketball in the last 3 years, or is this another of your spurs in 4 like comments?

I already know what that is, but the amount of dunks, oops, ridiculous reverses and quality finishes J-Rich also has had, far out weigh that.

Hes the best on the team for sure. But I don't think thats saying much. I think calling any of them "great" finishers would be a big exaggeration, especially when other contenders have multiple players who are much better...just look at SAS (Tony, Manu, Hill, Jefferson) or BOS (Rondo, Nate Rob, Pierce).

At least they aren't DAL-bad in that category.

Uhhh, wut? if you're going to put tony, many, hill and jefferson into the "great finishers at the rim club" so goes j-rich, arenas, vince, jameer and hedo. there's no way i say TP or hill is better than j-rich or arenas. Can TP still dunk even?

They're playing like crap right now, but when they gel it's going to be a helluva team.

Oh yeah, dallas can't. Chandler is about the only one on that team that can, and thats on putbacks/oops. Caron can't/doesnt, dirk can but doesn't often, jet/marion cant get there much anymore, particularl marion whose loss of a step of pace, has hurt him a lot.

How the hell does a 47% FG/41% 3PT guy like J Rich come to this team and completely miss everything? At least he gets boards unlike Wince.

He was in another of his shooting funks when he got traded.

But at the suns they had him coming off good screens, were letting him run and post up and such.

Maybe we have a different definition of finishing :lol

I think TP is a top 5 finisher in the league. I don't think how you finish matters, just how well you can covert based on adjustments to the defense. And TP is amazing at that. He won't dunk it, but who cares when he makes it anyway.

And come on Jameer and Hedo aren't very good. Hedo can make a straight line drive and thats about it. Occasionally a more complex one but nothing extraordinary. Jameer is the 2nd best on the team, but again, nothing special...I feel like he misses a lot of gimmes.

Its a bit unfair to compare teams' finishing ability to SAS though...its easily their best trait. You put a pass into the paint to just about any of their players (Blair and Duncan are really good too ofc. not Bonner or Dice but whatevs) and its basically a guaranteed 2 points.

I see him on the floor and I think giri can agree with me that he's thinking too much. Give him a few games. He'll be flourishing in this system before you know it.

Dwight having a monster game. Some really pretty moves.

Chandler playing well too. Great battle of big men.

I wouldn't worry about it.

J-Rich will love the Magic system. Dudes built for it. Hes gonna be soooo good for you guys.

Have we even seen/heard from dy_nasty since yesterday? I'm legit concerned that Larry Brown knocked him off

He was on yesterday iirc. Isn't he in the military and awaiting orders to ship out? Hope that's not the case...

Jesus christ Gil.

Thats about as bad a pass as you can make. 4 point swing; team loses an easy score and gives up 2 FTs. Such an easy pass to make too.

Ouch.

I'm pulling for Gil but yeah that really was an embarrassing sequence for him.

TP's just as likely to throw up an 8ft floater, that more oft than not goes in, but by no definition of "finishing at the rim" does that count.

Manu and Jefferson are good finishers, but Manu does play for the foul a fair bit too.

I mean TP has lead the league in FG% in the paint for years...hard to say hes bad at finishing. He does some crazy finger roll, reverse, off-the-glass shit too...its not just the floater.

You saw that shot by Jameer? Thats why hes a mediocre finisher :/

Arenas: 2 points, 2 turnovers, he was just mailing it in DC, he'll turn it in Orlando. Ignore him pretty much not playing in four seasons and his two major knee injuries.

Yeeeah, I think the Magic are done being an elite defensive team. Maybe we can become decent after everyone gathers themselves and learns their roles, but the days of being Top 5 are over.

The one bright spot for the Magic this game is that the gamble on Turk looks like it worked out. Hes playing great.

I'd say Earl Clark too but his defense has been so bad its been embarrassing.

Haven't watched the last 6 minutes or so of the game but his 1 on 1 defense has been solid...it's his rotations that have been a bit spotty...but overall not a bad pickup...
