Thomas plays into Chicago's system very well. He's a good PnP shooter, a tough rebounder and physical defensive player. Plus he can still guard bigger Centers at 6'9.

So sad Knicks couldn't grab him in the offseason.

Yeah, he's done all of that so far.

I am most impressed with his blocks and steals.

He'll hit the open jumper often.

Kurt Thomas is a great player. Always has been. Incredible post defender. Consistent with his jump shot. Great help defense. Hes a year off retirement now, but I always felt like he was one of those guys who didn't get the recognition he deserved.

But yeah, the 8th seed in the East is going to be historically bad. Very possible we see a sub-32 win team in the playoffs...

smh

repost...

I hate making the last post on the page :/

We'll see.

Found this:

Eddie House doesn't know what he's done wrong, all he knows is he's gone from contributor to spectator.

Going into Wednesday night's game against the Utah Jazz at EnergySolutions Arena, the Miami Heat veteran 3-point specialist had been held out of the previous two games and appeared for a total of 24 minutes in the three games before that.

"I'm just as baffled and dumbfounded as everybody else," he said after Wednesday's shootaround. "It's not like I played myself out of the rotation. My numbers don't look like, 'OK, I could see why.' "

Instead, coach Erik Spoelstra has stuck with James Jones as the team's 3-point specialist and worked Mario Chalmers into the rotation because of superior ballhandling skills to those of House.

I asked this same question last night:

and got no answer.

Because he IS that horrible. He doesn't play D, he can't dribble, can't drive, can't pass. and apart from hitting the corner 3, he's not that useful. And even that wasn't going down at a great % this year iirc.

I've been saying it for seasons, House is not a useful bench player.

At least Sancha didn't go the Mo Williams route when he didn't get to play with his idol anymore.

EDIT: Sancha just hit another 3!!

Maybe he'll do better now that he doesn't have to play behind 4 guys with the pressure that for every single mistake he made, he'd get even less playing time.

That's actually kind of old, but from what I've been hearing its a non-issue. Eddie isn't disgruntled...yet. He's getting along well with guys in the locker room.

If it becomes a problem we'll just end up swapping him for some other minimum guy or something.

Ah I see.

I'm not really advocating for him, just curious where he disappeared to when Chris Bosh suddenly started taking a bunch of late-game 3 point shots.

Does anybody know why Eddie House fell out of the rotation for the Heat?

He was playing 15 - 25 minutes per game, then during the start of the win streak, he just completely fell out of the rotation. He now either gets a DNP or gets a couple of minutes in garbage time during blowouts.

He wasn't playing that bad. Can anyone Heat fans explain what were the adjustments Spo made that caused Eddie House to ride the pine?
they decided to play the whole game with a natural point guard, rather than running the offense directly through bron or wade

eddie house can't perform as an actual point guard, so him performing the sit in the corner and shoot threes move isn't as useful

i think that was the line of thinking, jvg was analysing it during some heat game a while back

works a lot better this way

edit: yeah, even that article pretty much says straight up eddie can't move or dribble worth a shit anymore, so the play time is split between chalmers and arroyo

Kahn did well to avoid drafting him.
Dude would have been all over if he had the chance to or the balls to trade up. But neither situation is good for him. Doug Collins loves vets, and Kurt Rambis hates everyone and wants them to conform to his system.

We’ll begin with Wes Johnson. To me, Johnson is probably the Timberwolves’ most aesthetically pleasing player; there’s just something noble about the graceful, balanced way that he carries his body. Still, despite his great vertical athleticism, it’s been clear that he’s still at one extreme of the defensive learning curve. “He doesn’t have elite level quickness,” says David Thorpe, “and he doesn’t really have anticipatory skills at that position. And that’s primarily because he’s not really been a wing before, defending wings. And even if he was a wing player in college, which he wasn’t, he was also almost entirely playing zone, which is a very different movement than man-to-man.” This goes a long way to explaining why, as we’ve discussed here before, Johnson is still struggling with the nuances of NBA defense.

What’s more, we know that Wes’s is a one-dimensional scorer. His undeveloped ballhandling and inexperience as a slasher prevent him from using his formidable leaping ability at the basket. As a matter of fact, Wes has attempted more threes than free throws and shots at the rim combined. That’s really amazing.

... he's 23, so I'm not sure how much more growth he can have. I'm not sure what the Wolves were thinking when they picked him with the 3rd pick. Of course, he's obviously not as bad as Larden, but that's not saying much.

Just a video on kobe, motivation, heat, getting older.

It's kind of sad to watch really...Kobe maybe for the first time I've seen him on tape admitting that he sees the light at the end of the tunnel. Kobe, Ray, Garnett, Pierce, T-Mac, Vince, Iverson, Timmy, Dirk.....it's going to be a shame when the league belongs to the 2003 draft class and all those vets are out of the league.

nice clip, im a huge fan of kobe but kobe winning a 6th in his prime is not the same as kobe winning a 6th in 3 years from now.

It was between him and Cousins and Cousins was just like Al, who they already had.
Cousins was never in the conversation because of concerns over his attitude. It was always whoever falls between Favors and Wes.

Sit Tyreke. Please. Just sit his ass down. This team won't be any worse without him at this point. His shot selection is fucking horrendous.

That would still make him the same age as Jordan's 6th.

that is true and i havent thought about that but do u think kobe is still going to be scoring 25ppg in 3 years from now..?
i sure hope so but u never know.
looking forward to the game tonight.

But Beasley and Darko didn't have attitude concerns? KAHN!
Interesting take, but there's a difference between having concerns about the guy you got for 2 second round picks, or straight up for Brian Cardinal vs. the number 4 overall pick and the guaranteed money and such that went with it.

Kahn pretty much traded Al Jefferson for Michael Beasley and made Darko the highest paid player of the team despite being the classic Dampier. That's ignoring huge character issues.

Right now, darko's adding more to the wolves ability to win games, than al ever did.
