Ugh.

Uuggggghhhhh

Seriously. Go fuck yourself, LeBron. Eat a fucking dick. Choke on that shit and like it.

Whatever image he had is completely destroyed. Even Phoenix was booing him when the Heat came to town last night, right?

He earns millions of dollars every year, but basketball star LeBron James wants investors to splash out up to $500,000 each to sponsor his lavish 26th birthday celebrations.

The Miami Heat player has hired a marketing firm to find backers willing to help fund his December 30 party, dubbed the "Full Court Birthday Celebration."

James, who earned a reported $14.5 million in salary this year, enlisted SA Global Plus -- whose website shows slides from a presentation given to potential investors.

The sponsorship opportunities range from $10,000 for a single event on his 11-stop "LeBron James Dinner Party Tour" to $500,000 for a season package.

wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

Is it just me, or does LeBron seem like he was destined to be the arch villain of this league? Just everything about him. He seems like he enjoys the role and he's even been playing better this season!

Just feels like all of this was fate.

Lebron thinks he's the good guy though. He's like heel Chris Jericho, he's just a few weeks away from calling the booing fans in every stadium Lebronaholics. He's already been escorted into a stadium by a faux-security team.

I don't think he is playing better this season. He just has two other guys who are taking the load off which is exactly what he wanted. Less responsibility.

He's just out of touch with ... the world, really.

If LeBron was the basketball historian he thinks he is, he should know what a good market Minnesota's been when the Wolves are worthwhile. Hell, even when they haven't been, people have supported them better than a lot of other markets.

Well think about it. He has been coddled since he was 13-14 saying he potentially could be the greatest player ever. It has to fuck with your head. His buddies from high school running his life probably isn't doing him any favors.

Yup. Unlike Magic, Michael, Kareem, Larry Legend, Russell, and the other GOAT candidates, LeBron had it plastered on him from day 1. He never has and most likely never will truly understand what it takes to earn that title since in his mind (and Heat-Age) he deserves it for winning a couple of MVPs and some nice padded stats.

Wow. Did anybody catch this on Inside The NBA last night?

Apparently the Magic shooting 59.5% from the field was the highest allowed by the Spurs since 1997 (Coach Pop's first year with the team).

Damn.

When you look at the comments on contraction and his "plan" for getting sponsers to pay for his birthday parties, can anyone actually believe the whole "this is for the kids" BS any longer?

I'm not even joking when I say this:

There is no guy in the NBA today that deserves a chip less than LeBron.

Let me say it again:

I'M NOT SAYING MIAMI DOESN'T DESERVE A CHIP, I AM SINGLING OUT LEBRON.

Agreed. But you know, Heat-Age have accepted him as their own long lost son so therefore they don't deserve one either. I'm sure they'll win one or two but it won't happen while the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, and Mavericks still have their core together.

I don't know, Chris Paul is a pretty terrible person as well.

Eh, any team with him on their roster would circle the wagons, even Lakers-Age.

My point with LeBron is, that bullshit of "this is for the kids".

You know how many NBA players (and all athletes in general) do amazing things for less fortunate kids?

A lot.

But none of them except LeBron use it as a sympathy garnering mechanism to deflect the attention away from the narcissitic mis-steps.

You really think LeBron needed 'The Decision' to "raise money" for the kids?

I hope he gets booed to hell at Target Center and introduced like this: "At small forward, the man who wanted to contract your Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James."

For the rest of his career. Yeah, I'm petty, but so is he.

Honestly and people can say what they want, I wouldn't root for the guy if he were on the Lakers. I'd root for the team but I'd never root for him. He's a cancer, a spoiled egotistical and narcissistic child.

Westphal: Personal Issues Impacting Evans On Court

Sacramento Bee said:
The Kings lost their seventh game in a row. The loss featured another blown fourth-quarter lead, a slew of turnovers and another long stretch in which the Kings couldn't score.

The twist came when coach Paul Westphal revealed that struggling guard Tyreke Evans is dealing with personal issues that are negatively impacting his play.

The Kings lost to the Milwaukee Bucks 84-79 Thursday night at Arco Arena. The Kings led 75-69 with 8:24 left in the game before the Kings stopped scoring and the Bucks took control.

The Kings have lost 21 of 23 games and have the worst record in the NBA at 5-22. The Kings have led in the fourth quarter in five of their past six games and have suffered breakdowns that cost them each time.

The Kings committed a season-high 25 turnovers that led to 30 points for the Bucks.

By the time Evans made his first basket of the night, there was 2:30 left in the game and it made the score 81-77. Evans said he's dealing with a family issue that he declined to discuss. He missed 11 of 13 shots and scored a season-low four points.

"It's affecting me a lot," Evans said. "It's just a lot on my mind. I just have to find a way to get over it and just keep playing hard."

How the Kings can work themselves out of their current struggles is hard to envision, especially if Evans isn't right. And with each loss, frustration grows. The testy relationship between Westphal and rookie center DeMarcus Cousins took another turn.

Cousins was benched and fined for making a choking gesture late in Tuesday's loss to the Warriors. Thursday, in the fourth quarter, Westphal offered a high five to Cousins, who declined. Westphal grabbed Cousins' hand and said something to him.

When asked to elaborate on the situation, Westphal declined.

"I understand there are a lot of frustrations right now," the coach said. "Who wouldn't be frustrated when you're 5-22?"

The answers to the Kings' problems remain elusive. Carl Landry said players might be trying too hard late in games because they are so "thirsty" for a win. For the Kings to begin changing their losing ways, it will take everyone associated with the team to help out, he said.

"It's from top to bottom all the way from the owners," Landry said. "I think everybody can do a little something better. I'm not pointing the finger at just the players. I'm not pointing the finger at just the coaches. I'm pointing the finger at everybody in this organization. I think everybody can do a little bit something better to make this team a better ballclub, including myself."

Westphal said he sympathizes with Evans.

"There's more going on in his life," Westphal said. "It's a difficult time right now."

Evans isn't especially vocal and Westphal didn't find out about what was bothering Evans until after the game. Westphal said he found solace on the court during his playing days.

Evans is trying to do the same, but the losing doesn't make that easier. Evans said the Kings' problems shouldn't be blamed on Westphal.

"I'm not the type of player that blames things on people," Evans said. "He's a good coach (who) coached good last year. We've just got to figure out a way to work through it. It's been tough season for everybody."

Sucks to hear about Evans. It's funny that he says Westphal is a good coach though. Why's that? Because he's letting you jack up 16 shots a game with shitty shot selection? C'mon 'Reke.

Joe Maloof says Petrie, Westphal firings not imminent

Sacramento Bee said:
Kings co-owner Joe Maloof responded with "No" via text message when asked if ownership was about to fire basketball president Geoff Petrie and head coach Paul Westphal.

That was the latest in a series of messages I've exchanged tonight regarding the job status of Petrie and Westphal following the Kings' seventh consecutive loss and 21st in 23 games dropped them to an NBA-worst 5-22.

Westphal is probably up watching the replay of the loss to the Milwaukee Bucks from Thursday night. He replied that he'd probably have a "long night" so to please not call him too early in the morning.

I haven't heard anything from Petrie. The idea of firing Petrie now wouldn't be a simple undertaking.

The staff consists of Petrie's longtime friend and general manager Wayne Cooper and Petrie's son, Mike, who is the assistant general manager. Shareef Abdur-Rahim is also an assistant general manager.

It would be hard to imagine the move being made with Petrie's entire staff still in place for the rest of the season. An interim coach is one thing, but an interim executive in charge of the team's future is another issue to sort out.

Well there will be more on this throughout the day.

Firing Petrie would be just stupid. He's a legit GM. Westphal on the other hand... Ugh. Why did we ever fire Aldeman? :(

Did I cheer for him when he wasn't acting like a spoiled little cheating brat? Yes. When he went on radio and threatened to force a trade, I was ready to help him pack his bags. And when he came out as an adulterer, I was agreeing with others of what an asshole he was. I don't support Kobe because he is a great man because I don't know the guy. I don't expect the Heat to support LeBron because he is a great man because he isn't. It's about basketball and how both players view their role and the NBA as a whole.

LeBron sees the NBA as an avenue to display his talents and spoil his fans. He sees the NBA as a way to make millions of dollars. He sees his fans as individual who worship King James the persona. He sees himself as someone deserving of the title of the GOAT without having done anything of substance. He is more concerned about Brand LeBron than winning the ring. THAT is what I and many others have an issue with.

Kobe wasn't the greatest teammate according to many players for the first decade of his career. However, unlike LeBron, nobody ever questioned his desire to win. Nobody ever doubted his work ethic. For Kobe, he wants to assassinate and humiliate. He wants to win as many rings as he and his team can. It isn't about spoiling his fans. It isn't about the cameras and the dancing. Its about winning. The same cannot be said about LeBron. Do you think Kobe or any other star of the NBA would do what LeBron just did and call for retraction of the league? Calling out the players and the cities? He's not just a douchebag off the court, he is a doucebag on the court.

LovingSteam said:
Ehh i find it funny when supposed fans of teams become fans of total douchebag players who are more about dancing and partying than working hard and winning.
Once again whats with all the Chris Paul hate?

Not to be a contrarian, but regarding contraction LeBron has the same idea that a lot of people here have and to be honest its the right idea. The NBA would be better with fewer teams, thats a fact. This happened in soccer in the 90's where 4 teams per division were cut and it made the whole league a lot more competitive.

The difference is we're not a member of the players union who are basically calling for our fellow members to lose their jobs.

The difference is, no one on NBA-GAF is part of a Player's union.

Whether he is right or wrong, you just don't make comments like that in the middle of CBA uncertainty.

But to address LeBron's romanticized view of the 80s:

With less teams, there were still a LOT of bottom dwelling teams and the Lakers came out the West 8 times in that 10 year period and the Celtics came out 5 times.

Yeah, it was a really competitive time in the NBA.

He would have been better to use the 90s as an example (especially the parity out West) but wait, that was the Expansion era and that doesn't fit his argument.

Just saw that news, and laughed.

His view of the world and history are quite narrow. I don't think Miami's coming out of the East this year, but when/if they do, I would want a curbstomp Finals again. Can't let SA be the only team to keep him winless.

With less teams, there were still a LOT of bottom dwelling teams and the Lakers came out the West 8 times in that 10 year period and the Celtics came out 5 times.

Bandwagon--another poster quoted the article, but this is to-down view, not a level one.

We can joke about that shit here, but none of us are NBA superstars naming teams.

Read this out loud.

The sponsored birthday thing...why is this a big deal? I almost expect pro athletes/celebrities to have sponsored birthday parties. No way Lebron is the first person to do this. Jesse Jackson - erm the REVEREND Jesse Jackson - had one of his parties sponsored by Grey Goose, for crying out loud. :lol

Man has an ego. Gots to feed it.
