i'm not going to worry about the lakers just yet. i know they have been playing like shit lately but there is still a whole lot of season left. hell last season the lakers looked like shit going into the playoffs and they still managed to win the title. spurs fans shouldn't get so cocky just yet. watch them blow their wad early in the season and then get taken out in the playoffs.

because we had HCA. We are falling to far behind the Spurs and Celtics in that regard. They might get it together and make a run but that will eventually cost us down the line, which is reason to worry. I can be optimistic, but we can't beat Boston in the Finals (if we even make it that far) without home court. Not gonna happen.

Difference being the Lakers were the clear best team in the Western Conference. Coast and get home court wont work this year and it may come down to home court in the finals.

The Lakers are old too. Didn't you see KoBrett Favryant out there tonight?

Besides at the end of the day the Celts LOST in the Finals. As a Laker fan I wouldn't take any consolation in a loss. If we continue to coast like this we likely won't have HCA outside of the first round which will lead to disappointment.
Wake me when it's April, amirite?

Why are you guys still talking about the Lakers? They're old and busted. The Clippers are the most exciting team in that city now.
Jazz gone lose tomorrow :(

I didn't expect this level of suck so early on. It forced me out of hibernation. I feel like Robert Horry if you try and play him too much during the regular season. It means something bad has happened.

its not like this team is that much different from last years team. they are having a bad stretch. its just coming at a pretty bad time since the spurs and miami are playing really good right now. you can't always have home court in the finals. the celtics almost won the title and that is without having home court.

True but that was against one of the keast deep champs in recent history. Celts are a Hell of a lot deeper and better this year

A few more real good teams this year than the last couple.

maybe i'm not remembering right but not that many people believed in the celtics last season going into the playoffs. they kept proving people wrong as each series went by. a few weeks ago people thought miami was a joke and you can tell by the title of this thread. now many of those people are thinking they are legit. the lakers will work out whatever is wrong right now eventually so stop overreacting laker fans.

Too late, My car flags have been taken down.

The Lakers are still 21-10, which isn't shabby at all. Assuming they can stop sucking soon, just one 8-9 game win streak and they're back in the mix again with the other elites.

I really doubt the Czz and the Spurs will be able to maintain their current pace for the whole season. I pretty much guarantee both teams will hit a slump after the All-Star break. The Mavs are probably the only team capable of being consistent for the entire regular season but then again no one is really afraid of them come playoffs time. :lol In terms of HCA, the Lakers just have to worry about Boston and the Spurs. Both teams are known to have the wheels come off during the regular season, so Laker-Age needs to relax.

It's weird how Kobe needs to relearn how to play with his teammates every season. Every season it's a fucking process that culminates at the playoffs. It's a struggle that Phil must see as a necessary drama for each season to succeed. As a fan, it gets fucking old.

Ok TCB imma post like a Warrior.

Clippers for the Jazz tonight, Deron is going for 35/14, Millsap is going to stuff Blake at the rim for a poster block. Jazz by 16 points. We already won.

Ehh, he is just's been a fan of the Heat as long as you and Pheeniks have been.

Oh yeah cause I'm such a bandwagon fan aren't I?

Your bitter tears are so joyful, I'm going to enjoy watching you break down at the end of the season as you drive your Bentley to Buffalo Wild Wings in Cleveland. By the way, whatever happened to Kobe kicking everyone's ass? I thought this was the game the Lakers would get up for?

I am actually pretty good. Last year? Yea, I was crazy. If the Lakers don't win it this year, it is what it is. At least it will be fun seeing the cHeat break down since that is all LeBron's teams have and will do when it counts. But hey, at least you will never call him out on anything since he's your new boy and all.

NBA-Age is weird sometime. It's funny when some people like yourself think Reggie Miller was on some thuggery shit, somebody thinks Lebron is better than Magic Johnson, while at the same time others try to make Bron look like some sorry ass player that runs over people every play and would suck if it wasn't for those pesky refs.

I've played and watched basketball for 20 years. And I'll say we all know basketball in this thread. And if we were all in a bar or BW3s together we'd agree to disagree on many things and still respect each others arguments.

But because it's NBA-GAF and we are all anonymous people say stuff like "you know nothing about basketball derp derp derp."

I for one have never eaten at buffalo wild wings so I cannot judge a man on his choice of restaurant here

I would say the same for myself :lol

You do understand that the Big 3 are playing very few minutes, especially TD who doesn't give a shit right now, thanks to all the help he is getting. Plus Pop is still working Splitter into the system and have yet to get our 1st round draft pick back from injury, after he had a very promising start of season.

This team has quite a bit of upside. NEAL WITH IT! 70+ wins incoming!

Ok, that last part wasn't serious, but the 1st paragraph is. The team has room for growth.

He hasn't been a bad poster since, maybe it's what he needed.

I'd say that Heat-Age isn't as bad as Cavs-Age (besides TrippleU) was in relation to bobbing down on LeBron. Its quite entertaining to watch actually. I can't recall any fanbase here that routinely comes to the defense of their players for stupidity as often as they do. He definitely chose the right fan base to treat like a bitch.

nobody should defend crab dribble, the decision, check my $tat$, etc. but you guys are downright hilarious in how you pick someone apart

Reformat this sentence. I'd hate to unleash the ninjas over a misunderstanding.

It's odd, but the grizz have to decide this year who they're keeping, either Gasol or Mayo. I don't think they can pay both, and that may depends as much on what they can re-sign Z-bo for. If they can get Z-bo for ~12m per, they may decide to stick with him, give up gasol, play thabeet minutes, and re-sign mayo. If they can't, they're going to have to re-sign Gasol, because you can't have your front court being Thabeet.

I think it's the general consensus that they don't keep both. I just felt that Z-bo would demand more than they are willing to give him. I'll definitely be keeping my eyes out for articles on the Grizz, really is sounding as though they are going to be shaking things up soon. Oh man would it be nice if they let Gasol go though. No way we'd be the only team springing for him. Just checked out the FA list you linked...man that needs to be updated.

It became acceptable the moment he got selected as the number 1 over all pick, and people defended him.

If your ass aint on the court no one gives a flying fuck how great your talent is. See Bynum, Oden ,*. Get your shit sorted and get on the court.
Oh, I completely agree. That's why I was as pissed as any of you when he started bitching out of important games earlier in the season. But if he was willing to come back and face the 5pur5 when he wasn't 100% that is a pretty promising development.

Recognizing this, no fewer than seven teams have reached out to the Timberwolves with interest in Flynn, with interest ranging from teams looking for a solid back-up to teams looking for a long-term starter.

Sources close to the situation tell HOOPSWORLD there doesn't appear to be anything imminent, and the Timberwolves like Flynn very much, as much for his character and his locker room presence as for what he does on the basketball court. Still, if the right assets are offered - and high draft picks have been mentioned as possible attention-grabbers for Timberwolves GM David Kahn - Flynn could be relocating before the NBA's trade deadline, which is now roughly a month and a half away.

Fuck you, Kahn. Flynn sucks and won't be worth anything in a few months. Pull the trigger!

What's funny is that mcmas isn't even from Florida, I think.

If the West seeding held, the playoffs would be something awesome to see.

Round 1 you'd have Spurs vs. Blazers, Dallas vs. Denver, Utah vs. New Orleans, and Lakers vs. OKC. Some great individual matchups there with Dirk and Melo, Deron and CP3, and Kobe and Durant. Too bad Roy is busted, or else you could have a great Dirk and Roy matchup too.

The most ideal situation would be for those matchups to hold but for OKC to win home court from the Lakers.

David Thorpe is the most hindsight is 20/20, flip-floppy draft analyst ever. He talked for months about how Favors should have been taken over Cousins. Killed the Nets in Summer League for taking Favors over Cousins because Cousins had a better Summer League. Then praised the Nets for taking Favors over Cousins when Favors had the better start. Then flip-flopped back to Cousins after three quality games from Cousins. Now is back to Favors.

His most hilarious one is that, pre-draft, he said Landry Fields shouldn't be drafted and he just called Kahn an idiot for not picking Fields at 4th overall. This dude is seriously the most annoying fuck in all of ESPN and that's really saying something.

I didn't think Chad Ford could be surpassed for the most "I never make mistakes!" analyst after he said Dwight Howard was the second best draft prospect predraft of the 2000s when he rated Dwight third in the 2004 draft alone, but he did.

rewatching the Lakers game, kinda sorta, but how did Bynum get away with grabbing Splitter around the neck and only getting a foul called instead of a flagrant? That's just....insane.

Bynum the Destroyer doesn't care about flagrant fouls.
