The pickem that was done on Christmas day was pretty fun and had good participation. I figure a full slate tonight is a good time to try it again.

Tonight's schedule:

Golden State @ Atlanta
Cleveland @ Charlotte
Indiana @ Washington
Boston @ Detroit
Denver @ Minnesota
LA Lakers @ New Orleans
New Jersey @ Oklahoma City
Miami @ Houston
Philadelphia @ Phoenix
Memphis @ Sacramento
Utah @ LA Clippers

Hayward with the a career night, calling it now. 5 points on 1-5 shooting.

AK is out, CJ might not play, and Deron will play but isn't 100%. Jazz got beat up by the Flailblazers and that douche wipe Fernandez sliding under people all night. CJ is sick, but Rudy probably gave it to him.

We're planning to thank the Lakers in our acceptance speech, aren't you excited?

You know, kids read this forum. Do it for the kids, Lebreezy-style.
Any mention of the Lakers gets me as excited as gifs of Mariah.

And I will keep posting pictures of her for the kids! I don't want them growing up to think that female versions of Skeletor are acceptable mating material. Most of the poor bastards today already idolize shit like Tom Brady and LeBron, it is the least I can do for them!

Did you ever find it odd that you are a fan of both Roethlisberger and Kobe?

The Rockets are like that guy who opened the really lame white elephant gift that's neither funny nor remotely useful in any way and they're just begging for the guy who opened up the $50 Best Buy gift card to swap.

Not happening for what you want, Rockets. You'll take the once-used toilet brush or you'll stick with what you got.

Luke Walton for Yao Ming and their two championship trophies.

I really wouldn't be shocked. Though this team seems to be much more focused and urgent on the road than they are at home.

I think with your scratches for tonight, the Clips have a pretty good chance.

Not even a troll.

this country has enough obesity problems as it is. You are going to create a generation of Roseanne Barrs. Or even worse, a generation of Mariah Careys

eeeeeeew

I'm going to pick the losers.

Boston @ Detroit
Denver @ Minnesota
LA Lakers @ New Orleans

She's the Lebron James of music. She has lots of crazy demands, thinks we're lucky to have her talents brought to town, and she doesn't make anybody around her better.

J-Lo's even fucking weirder. She's an absolute C&*T

Valid point if it weren't the fucking Sixers

Man, they've been playing ok recently, they're 12 - 19 atm. Suns are only 13 - 16. Records not that different.

That sounds like utopia. Especially if they are wearing that sexy NBA uniform that Mariah sometimes wears (preferably in Laker colors!).

If only the future generation of kids can be so fortunate. Unfortunately they probably won't be so fortunate and women will continue to shrink into oblivion.

Man, you clearly haven't look at the difference between strength of schedules
neither have I but it couldn't possibly be as bad as ours has been

This is a nice scenario for us to test run VC and snap that loss streak. Besides that 76ers suck, they have been on the road for a while and are wearing down, we have HCA, and are rested. Peaches looked far more comfortable in the last game. Your lack of faith is disturbing :|

Also, seriously, adding Al Harrintong into a Melo trade isn't that bad. His contracts ~6m per year, which aint horrible. The nets could absorb that, and doesn't he play the 3/4 ? Not a bad bench player really.

I have Harrington on my fantasy team and I hate him.

Only someone who hasn't watched him play consistently would say that. Do you really want to be paying $6mill a year for AL into his 30s?

You need to watch him.

Pietrus looked good, but he was knocking down contested 3's. Thats not exactly something i'm going to build houses upon.

The 76'ers are the sort of team that will catch the suns team unawares. I just wouldn't be surprised if they lost. In fact, i put the odds of the suns winning at 50/50. It could be a good audition for igoudala though. i wouldn't mind him on the same team as nash.

Oh, forgot to add that, Iggy's doubtful for playing. So yeah, we'd better not lose this. It shouldn't be a trap game, they shouldn't be complacent when we've dropped 3 in a row and are under 500. THEY BETTER NOT DROP THIS.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR thekad IN TONIGHT'S GAME
No there isn't. If the Rockets win he can say how crappy the Lakers are for not being the Heat. If the Heat win he can gloat about how great they are and how much better they are than the Lakers.

True, his obsession with the Lakers is unnatural.

And this is why thekad's "trolls" are so low rent.

Everyone sees them a mile away--even Carmelo's fans in Utar can see them clear as day.

Ok, maybe he's worse than i give him credit for.

He's a guy who looks good in a box score but when you watch him play he's a complete detriment to his team.

see:
T.Murphy
A.Blatche
A.Jefferson
K.Martin

Just got 100 bucks worth of free store credit today at Gamestop - then I come back to see everyone picking the Bobcats to win? The fuck is this?

Golden State @ Atlanta
Cleveland @ Charlotte
Indiana @ Washington
Boston @ Detroit
Denver @ Minnesota
LA Lakers @ New Orleans
New Jersey @ Oklahoma City
Miami @ Houston
Philadelphia @ Phoenix
Memphis @ Sacramento
Utah @ LA Clippers

Guess my "fuck it" picks

So, question for NBA-Age:

What is your favorite basketball movie(s)?

I know bionic77 loves Space Jam and peterb0y's is More Than A Game and charsace/TheFrankman love Eddie...seriously though, we all have them (some are silly, others are not) so what are yours?

I'll start:

For me it's:

Blue Chips
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgeSww9uCAo

White Men Can't Jump
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CbhCIzt3mag

Sunset Park
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjsvTIlTdvg

Heaven is a Playground
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tp7_Xy7slX8

Yes, 90s were dope for cheesy b-ball movies
White Men Can't Jump is amazing. It is a time capsule of the early 90s AND it is ridiculously witty too. I love that movie.

Hoop Dreams is the best basketball movie of all time, though. And one of the best documentaries of all time. Way too many amazing things about it to list. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yzczgdv1gKU

THrough the Fire -- ESPN documentary follows Sebastien Telfair from high school to the NBA. It's a good add-on to Hoop Dreams, showing the slimy hangers on, coaches pulling you in different directions, etc. Really solid.

Al has mostly looked better than his box scores this season outside of his and Millsap's lack of chemistry on the glass.

I am surprised more of you aren't taking DET over BOS tonight. I thought that was a pretty tough call to make.

Hey man, you may love the chubbies but keep your fetishes to yourself. The whole world shouldn't suffer because of your stanky ways.
