Boston - Major trade for Ray Allen/KG. plus 2nd year of Rondo. That team was ready to compete bigtime when the season started already.
Phoenix - D'Antoni's 2nd year of "7SOL". 2nd year of STAT + Joe Johnson/Q-rich/Nash/Marion/Joe Johnson and a rookie in Leandro Barbosa
San Antonio- You trollin' now. Greatest intentional tank job in NBA history, that team easily could've made playoffs previous year. Nabbed Duncan.

Every team you mentioned was ready to go talentwise before the season started. Knicks talent doesn't even come close to these teams...
You set the parameters... I set you straight:

Nobody goes worst-to-first in the NBA.
Boston: 24 to 66 (+42)
Phoenix: 29 to 62 (+32)
San Antonio: 20 to 56 (+36)

And this is funny...

D'Antoni's 2nd year of "7SOL"
What season is this for D'Antoni in NY, again?

Plus, if they had the talent in place, why didn't they win more games the year before? Not only didn't they win, none of them won more than 29. None of those teams had coaching changes, either.

Didn't D'Antoni take over at the end of the 29 win season and start the next with Nash new?

They had it when that season started, not the previous year. Really dude?

don't even bother. He's trolling now. Why do I let him get to me?

Coached 61 games the season before Nash and went 21-40. Nothing to scoff at the amount of games. He was also an assistant the year before.

Ugh, what? The Knicks didn't have the same players available on game 1 as they did on game 32 tonight?

The Frankman said:
... try again.
What does that matter anyhow? Isn't that how a lot of teams improve, during the off-season? You said "nobody goes from last to first". What difference does it make how they achieve that?

Just because the Knicks were incapable to get more talent in the off-season, it doesn't dismiss what those other teams accomplished.

so will you say it's easier to go worst-to-first then to progress to getting better? Because that's how this discussion started.

and before you go OHNOWMAITAMINUTE: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=414568&page=376

read masud's post and my post after it.

How did you manage to infer any of that from my posts? All I said was that teams can go worst-to-first and have done it, where as you said that nobody can.

I understand baby steps and all and I've watched Portland successfully attempt those steps before the injuries hit, but don't say such ridiculous absolutes and then complain about being called out on it.

Still waiting on an answer... are my chances of getting it better or worse than the chances of trolling being outlawed on GAF?

I just point out the NBA Offseason thread as such massive trolling/"absolutes" being thrown out and hardly a mention of them now.

I keep trying to tell people I'm not a troll!

You guys throw the term "trolling" out way too much:

Discussion you don't agree with = Trolling

Heckling = Trolling

Trash Talk = Trolling

Getting owned for spewing nonsense = Trolling

right... I'll drink a Coca-Cola and thank God Amare and the Knicks starters still have working knees. don't need any potential trade chips getting hurt.

All those healthy knees and still that mediocre record as they've lost 5 of their last 7.

Baby steps and all.

Gotta learn to crawl before you learn to walk... :D

*waits for scientific research of baby walking before ever crawling*

If 18-14 is still in the crib, then they need to sleep on their backs. Medical health experts agree that a large majority of crib death seem to be attributed to babies sleeping on their stomachs.

Another study attributes it to certain toxins that can be found in mattresses
Oh I see...Trash talk and heckling on a FUCKING SPORTS THREAD is trolling.

smh

Grow a backbone, ffs.

We ALL cap on each other here.
when it gets excessive like a smoker's breath it befouls the air before one, causing unpleasantness for the group as a whole. WHEN WILL IT END???

But The Frankman is crying about "trolling".

GTFO
... really? WHERE IS THE TROLLING?

Half of GAF said Amare will get hurt in year one of his deal and the Knicks are retards for paying him because of his knees or retina (LFK). Chandler has had knee issues in the offseason. Turiaf has missed time and still isn't 100% on his right knee. Randolph hurt himself in practice, but they said it was minor. If you've seen Felton at all this week, he's getting banged up/looks like he's hurt everytime he hits the ground. Knicks cannot afford an injury to a starter, they don't have enough bench depth.

... but you're right, I'm trolling.

Felton got whiplash and played a day later... dude is indestructible. But his powers come at a high price, he'll never get a call.

And its only been 20+ games... Amare's Bosh-esque start is still young.
