damn

I hope Felton didn't use up all of his hero juice on the Kings and Raptors.

Some big news out of Duke today...

Duke Could Lose Irving For Remainder Of Season

RealGM said:
Duke's Kyrie Irving could miss the rest of the season with a right toe injury suffered in the second half of Saturday's win against Butler.

Irving, an early candidate for freshman of the year, didn't break a bone but the injury involves ligaments.

"Kyrie's injury is a serious one," coach Mike Krzyzewski said after Duke beat Bradley on Wednesday night. "

Duke will not rush Irving back from injury, according to a source.

Irving is widely considered a future top-five NBA pick.

Shit sucks.

Knicks only got him because he sabotaged things in Detroit. See the trend?

No.

Larry Brown left Detroit with a second trip to the Finals that went all the way to game 7. Hardly sabotage.

The problem was he started having health issues and then he pulled his usual Larry Brown antics by talking to the Cavs organization about a front office position before the Piston's playoff run had even ended, which pissed off Joe.

IMO, Larry Brown and the Pistons dissolved the relationship about a couple years too early. Both needed each other more than they realized. Larry Brown knew how to keep the Piston player's edge and the Pistons fit Larry Brown's "Team" concept perfectly with no superstar egos.

When Larry left, Flip came and made the Piston players much more complacent. They did better in the regular season, but they still stayed in chillax mode even in the playoffs until they were ultimately embarrassed year after year.

And Larry Brown on his new teams, got immature players who basically didn't give a shit. Also the roster situation was so FUBARed that even all the subsequent coaches in NY couldn't make it work.

I haven't been following Brown with the Bobcats, so I don't know what the dynamics are. But IMO, I think it was the health issues he had in '05 that damaged him. I don't think he's had quite the same energy level. At least not enough to start from scratch with a bottom-feeder.

Lebron's twitter comment hurt's my brain.

That wasn't a pass, that was a bailout. He looked after he threw it. That shouldn't count as an assist. :lol
Except nothing less of you to hate on the best PG in the game.

Do you just have an affinity for the most hated teams in basketball?

I see 12 losses without trying too hard, and there are definitely more they could lose.

Should lose:
DEN
BOS
MIA
OKC
CHI
@MIA
@ORL
SAS
@PHX
@LAL
@POR
@UTA

Could lose:
IND
PHX

Should win:
@WAS
@CLE
SAC

If they get through that stretch with single-digit losses, color me shocked.

I go to the school, yeah. I don't get the Duke hate either- were not a team of superstars, we're just disciplined and skilled.
People are laughing because you complain about the refs while being a fan of the two most favorably-reffed teams in all of basketball.

You're right, Duke does it all on grit and Coach K Leadership (tm).

Seeing as how they don't get the pick of HS basketball recruits, it's amazing they're able to scrape by.

Pretty much agree, but I think they split the games with the suns, and definitely beat the pacers

Hey, mines more realistic than your prediction.

At best, i see 6 - 11.

If you get out of that 8 & 9, i'll be slightly impressed.

That said, OKC are in a funk, Suns are playing like ass, and pacers well... who knows which pacers will show up. Still, i'd expect those teams to beat the knicks, especially if you are on a loss streak and in the struggle.

They might beat the Blazers, and they're bound to win around another two games or so on sheer luck. 6-11 or 7-10. Not good, but not bad enough to dampen Knicks fans' spirits.

me and smokey gonna try to form our own 2k/nba-age league for GT.

OK, throw in 3 wins against good teams. That's still 6-11.

LA spends the entire summer training so that they might come out of Charlotte with a win. Kobe has nightmares of Matt Carroll 4pt plays.

I do like how half his argument is based on outlier odds though.

I guess last years nets won 15 games too.

Riiiight. Like how everyone predicted the Heat be a game ahead of the Knicks. Right.

So its the rest of the league's problem that the Knicks get awarded a 2nd preseason for sucking for 10 consecutive years?

What are you talking about? I just love the 15 game losing streak that is predicted for us. As if Amar'e and Felton will revert to gaffer rec league status.

DCX

The Jazz starters are playing way too many minutes. Deron needs to have his minutes cut by 6-12 and have those minutes given to Hayward (Price would be defending PGs in Hayward's minutes playing point). Sap's minutes need to go down 6-12 and those minutes need to go to Evans. And Al's minutes need to go down 12 when Memo comes back. This team looks dead tired in 4th quarter of every major game they play and, while Paul is made of steel, Al's knees are made of glass. He can't be playing 36-40 minutes a night.

Definitely? What a weirdly definitive stance to take on two evenly matched teams in a regular season game.

OMG, Babbitt is playing on the same D-League team as Antoine Walker :lol :lol . People thought he was a no defense, threes only, blackhole before, just wait until Antoine Walker mentors him.

And the pacers have length. And collison could shred them apart. The pacers team isn't a bad team anymore.

Looks like more trash games to me, the Portland/Orlando maybe the only hope.

I think Orlando have had 4 days off, and portland played only 2 days ago? (i.e. only one days rest, which would've been used to travel on).

I'm not sure it will be that competitive :(
