Nice guy with light hair, nice guy with dark hair, bad boy with light hair, bad boy with dark hair, nice guy with glasses. The possibilities are almost endless!
A massive improvement over last week's letdown of an episode.
You know you've played too many video games when you notice they were basically playing House of the Dead 4 on an arcade cabinet labeled "Time Crisis". Also that amusement park montage was super cheesy, especially with Jintensha as the insert song, but they made it work.
I can't wait until it's time to wipe the smug right off Kuroi's (unseen) face.
Carnival Phantasm 3-4 (finished) - This series was pretty good, let's hope that that Carnival Phantasm 2 they mention at the end actually happens sometime! It was funny stuff, all four episodes were full of amusing skits. Some were just weird, sure, but more than enough were funny to make it well worth a watch. (Oh, this series has 13 minute episodes, so they're half length.)
In ep. 4, the first skit has Rin as the poor victim of a "person who doesn't know how to program their VCR" joke. Apparently she spends too much time learning magic and can barely handle technology... it was funny when she freaked out over the fact that it was a Blu-ray player and not a VCR, but most of the rest was amusing too, even if it was kind of cruel (she's so bad at it...). At least it didn't end up with a stereotypical anime "the thing exploded" joke, just
she recorded the wrong thing
. Oh, and Archer is mean, not telling her what to do and just sitting back and watching her be confused instead, because he thought it'd be funny. ... It was, but that still makes him a jerk.
The next major bit in ep. 4, with the two MCs (Shirou and the Tsukihime guy) trying to come up with a plan for how to have dates/do things with all of the girls in their harems (five for Tsukihime, three for Shirou) was pretty funny too... Quite an entertaining skit beginning to end.
As for the repeating skits (stuff with bits all four episodes)... the parts with those three girls doing that comedy routine or something were kind of odd. They were somewhat amusing at times, but often more weird or pointless than funny... #1 says some setup line, #2 then says something completely different about why she wants to leave, #3 says "all is going according to calculations", then they all do their pose and stuff. Odd.
The magical girl "episode previews", and the real episode previews, were all pretty funny stuff though.

Carnival Phantasm 1-4
Seeing the Tsukihime characters makes me wish someone would reboot the series, but nonetheless the four eps. were great and its from the same director of Seto No Hanayome so the style of humor was just what I expected. It sucks that there's no season 2 for SnH, but at least I can still look forward to CP's season 2. ^_^
Huh, yeah, the anime preview does look worse, doesn't it. Also, why are the uniforms different? How odd... I'm just hoping that it's a followup to the movie, and not a retelling... I mean, the movie basically ended at a good starting point for a series, hopefully it starts from there, or about. But we'll see, who knows if it'll be any good.\

I liked this show more when I thought it was supposed to be a MuMorPuGeR.
I think episode 1 set the stage in terms of the show being crazy, but episode 2 brought the intense masculinity and crazy honour code. All the wacky "wolf" stuff, for example.
Loved the way they did the scenes like these, even slow motion to the water droplets. It felt Shu was acting OoC, or just had a huge change since even episode 1. I guess Shu x Inori is canon.
The ending scene with his friend pushing him off the train and that ending was wow, mind blown, wonder what void he will get. Gai and Inori's ability origin needs to be detailed. Shu with the powers cant see voids in people but the others can, what.
This show is actually. good. I'm glad others are giving it a watch. A lot of staff that worked on Twelve Kingdoms worked on it, and that's the initial reason I bought it. but it turned out to be a great story and Shurei HNNNNGH is just cute.
I don't think the stalker line should be taken too literally. In episode 14, Ringo forlornly accepted Shoma and her being apart as their 'fate'. Presumably the scene in episode 16 takes place after he's apologised to her for his earlier comments and she's again convinced it's okay to be with him.

her step forward is a big one, rather than relying on fate that was pre-ordained she's gone to create her own fate, still it sounds like she's going to do everything she can to win Shoma's heart like she tried with Tabuki SLEEPING DIRECTLY UNDER HIS BED, I'd love to see that lololol.

Funny as that would be, I doubt she'll have to go to too much trouble.
Shoma sounded like he was struggling with the notion that the son of terrorists can associate with the family of a victim. I don't think it will be too long before he realizes that his notions of inherited guilt and punishment are rubbish.
The series seems like it's leading up to a big event where all the characters and plot threads will converge. I'm wondering what it will be:
I've been thinking that ever since the skyway anniversary celebration scene in episode 12.
It seems like Sanetoshi might be trying to get Kanba involved in a terrorist conspiracy, perhaps as blackmail in exchange for saving Himari? In the next episode preview, we have Kanba saying that he would do anything to save [a person], even if it turned the whole world against him. Hmm...
I'm actually enjoying it, overcoming all the odds really.
It's worth watching the first 2 episodes. The first episode was a bit of a mess as they tried to cram a ton of stuff into it. Second episode is pretty interesting, I enjoyed it a lot more.
The first PV for Ryochimo Quartet Final is out. It literally redefines "ruining the entire story in the trailer", so watch it only if you've already read the manga or don't care for HUGE spoilers.

I've watched all the previous ones and I couldn't tell you what the damn thing is even about. I just know it has cool fight animation and cute girls. This seems to be continuing that trend so I'm good.
