Guilty Crown 5

Shu needs to pull a Simon and Gai needs to pull a Kamina
if he hasn't already.

Still love the music placement. Always been a fan of "shit getting real, start the music!" scenes. Would be nice if we got one on the level of TTGL ep 11.

Guilty Crown 5

Characters still suck though Ayase is the least egregious so far. Still slapping a guy because you walked in on him in his own room is an anime cliche that puts a character on my shit list.

Also
What the hell would Shu have done if the void he pulled out just created a big explosion and killed a bunch of people? He had no idea what the fuck that thing would have done since only Gai has shown any knowledge of people's void's before they're pulled

Guilty Crown 05

Wow.
Shu got NTR'd by Gai and Inori. That was some heartless shit on their part.

Looks like it may be a feint though, Inori seems to be giving Gai blood transfusions? With Wheelchair-moe setting up some melodrama. I suspect the next couple episodes will have Shu learning the truth, since Gai is apparently in trouble/missing.

All my Friends are Dead 06

Not sure if Yozora is a real bitch, or a hardcore tsundere.
She is obviously his childhood friend, and seems to be [trying to] help the other club members get over their individual social anxieties. Albeit without betraying her own problems of loneliness and regret.

I bet one could stretch an arguement that each member of the club could represent a carnal sin.

Otherwise fun
karaoke
shenanigans!

Basically he'll pull out whatever DEM he needs to get through the episode. Shit's lazy.

I thought Inori could see voids? Though I wonder what type of personality one would have to possess in order to have a void doing something like that

Bokutomo - 06

I can only be thankful that Kobato got cut off from singing, any further strain on my heart along with the Indian pizza I was eating would have killed me.

A gloomy one, like he said at the end of the episode!

Oh lovely lovely Kanuka Clancy, we don't need a long wiki article for the word "Beauty", just a picture of you is enough!

But it's a little strange that a third generation japanese-american looks more japanese than any real japanese characters.

Also, the blushes in GC are pretty awful.
It's always disappointing when an artists limits themselves by only drawing the blush on the cheeks.

I'd like to think the wheelchair girl is a cool, unique twist on the typical tough girl mecha pilot character type, but I just can't help thinking it's nothing more than a terrible, terrible new fetish the Japanese have decided to add to their repertoire of "helpless girl" character types....

Momoka Drum 18
Fantastic Episode though I do have one gripe that really applies more to the whole series. There is a lot of tension build up that just gets resolved too quickly and it takes away from trying to create a scene that is really worth caring about. At this point,
I kind of want Himari to die so as to create some actual long lasting tension. This episode was real tense but the way it came and went felt rather unsatisfying.

Admittedly, the group scene at the end was really well done despite the previous events.

Momoka/Tabuki Child Broiler scene was A+. Symbolism Everywhere.
.

I also really like having no real clue how the series will end.

If she did, she'd just get shibireru darou'd back to life.

As long as there is at least a 2 episode gap between her death and revival, I'd be good. Though I do have a feeling something bad is going to happen to her, and it's acutally going to take the PenguinDrum to make her all better. Or something like that.

The Pixiv output is pretty low, so she is maybe not the beginning of a new archetype. The fanbase is more into Inori... the typical helpless anime character.

That because she's been hardly seen till now. Wait till more screen time the output will increased.

The scene where she spills out of the mecha, and her boobs bounce on their own should have been enough to set something in motion already.

Not to defend this but a person's void is supposedly based on their character and personality. This could imply that Shu has finally gotten control of his power and/or was perceptive enough to figure out the bro's "dark" personality.

For all its faults, I can thank Un-GO for giving what might be the best OP/ED combination this season. How To Go is an insane song but Fantasy is just excellent. Might be the best ED this season and one of the best this year. The way it's weaved into the ends of episodes is perfect too. It doesn't feel out of place and seems to fit the overall mood of the show.

Makes people rewatch gainax shows for bouncing boobs and skintight suits.

At least she still has four limbs and two eyes...

But yes, I've complained before about how unpleasant I think the "helpless moe" thing is. It's pretty bad.

Un-Go is really weird. A detective show where all the cases are solved through a single conversation and a supernatural being helps the protagonist cheat.

If
Himari were to actually die, it would take away motivation from the brothers to do anything. Once all the backstory was out of the way, there'd be nothing to drive the plot forward.

It seems that the scene in episode 9
set in the Child Broiler was a memory of Momoka inherited by Himari. Through the hat? Or is she a reincarnation herself?

At this point in the show, it's better to think the detective gig as a setting for stories on how petty and filthy humanity is because each and every episode has been building into whatever the main story arc will be. Episode 4 was pretty telling I thought.

Yugo the Negotiator 4

Getting better. Wonder how Yugo was able to
avoid the pain. Perhaps some kind of drug. Don't know when he would have the opportunity to take one though. I guess he could just have a REALLY good poker face.

Nice episode. I'm a little bummed though, because despite the really good sense of tension that permeated the episode coupled with the show's consistently excellent use of music not once did I ever fear for
Himari's safety, since even if something were to have happened to her there's nothing really stopping anyone from just bringing her back yet again next episode anyway
. The precedent is already there, after all. I'm also bummed we didn't get to watch
Yuri and Masako duking it out
.

In any case, things seem to be reaching the boiling point now. I'm excited. Also, this episode had the best after-credits illustration yet, imo.

I agree with that.
A problem with the way the show is built around this theme is that all the mystery stories have trotted over pretty similar material and been resolved in a similar ways. I'm glad this is only a one cour show.

They don't have to kill Himari, they just need to present her death as a credible threat to Kanba and Shouma.

Too bad her death stopped being a credible threat to the viewer a long time ago.

Sekai ichi Hatsukoi 2 episode 6...or rather Junjou Mistake
tumblr_luiuoj58Mi1qeurcno1_500.gif

Ryūichirō Isaka is a pretty cool character, I like his plot and the history between him and his assistant was touching (childhood). It seemed they reversed the roles based on the appearances that the characters of Sekaiichi play, ie characters that look like him afraid to admit their in love, while he admitted it first, I guess. But next episode looks like it will be good.

episode 12 has a explenation for the Himari thing, the possibility that they lose her forever is the wort punishment for both. And punishment is the big theme of the Takakura family.

Well yeah, but I don't think that's terribly important. She's only being kept alive by Kanba's continued intervention, and even in this episode the most important thematic element wasn't necessarily the threat of her death but the fact that the three of them keep going through these horrible things for stuff they aren't responsible for.
