PSO is the one MMORPG I'd play if I were into paying subscription fees.
PSO2 is F2P, if you didn't know. There's no pay-wall for unlocking content or anything, and the restrictions are pretty reasonable (just no direct trading, putting stuff up for sale on the broker/"My Shop", or "My Room" access). Mind, I've been enjoying the game enough, and SEGA has been brisk enough with the updates, that I haven't felt the slightest guilt over spending a small pile of money on the game.
It probably helps that the game is a major nostalgia bomb for me, so I'm supporting them just for the sake of seeing more of this sort of thing in the future.
Oh... and you can impale things on your sword and throw them! That helps, too.
...But you do have to get used to seeing people wearing wedding dresses into combat.
