Batman has the BROADEST shoulders of all time. He looks like such a meat head

To be fair, everyone looks bananas in that game apart from the ladies. Joker's facial structure is completely bonkers. If you took his skull out, it would look like a space alien. Gordon looks so buff he could probably punch everyone to death himself, which makes you wonder what he needs Batman for. Beyond that, they've gone with visible pupils Batman but his eyes are still so cartoonishly close together he looks like the dad from The Incredibles.

They're amazing games, luckily.

I believe Crysis 2 was one of the best looking games I have played for the past couple of years.

Sethos' screenshots testify to this belief of mine.

I really can't understand all the hate it gets on GAF.

Well, yes, it is a really good looking game, but I really can't see how that stops it from being a bad game.

I don't think it is btw, but being one of the best looking games and being hated have nothing to do with each other.

First time I have ever heard this.

It's far from bad, but the monotonous values used on everything, and caused by the post processing and haze, makes the whole game look like a very detailed 2D backdrop to me from the lack of color differentiation to use for depth perception. And of course I love games that use more than one or two color palettes throughout.

It's not awful, it's in fact pretty decent. It's just that people understandably get upset when a sequel to a very innovative, fresh game comes out and it's not much more than another trite and mundane CoD clone.

The game was designed with obvious sacrifices compared to the scale of the first, and it streamlined a lot of aspects that made people feel like it allowed for less freedom, but, aside from iron sights and a few scripted events, it plays much differently than a Call of Duty game.

It thankfully doesn't have the shooting-gallery type shooting, at least, not very much of it, and it doesn't have as many scripted sequences which makes what crysis 2 does quite a bit more interesting than your typical call of duty campaign, but I can't help but imagine the boardroom meetings that went on during development where everybody sits around a table going "how can we attract more of the call of duty demographic?"

Yeah, Crysis 1 gameplay was so good, too bad they streamlined (or dumbed down if you wish) the controls for the sequel. And I really don't get why, Crysis and Warhead played fine on the 360 controller, so it's not like they made it because of the console versions.

Also DAT STEALTH lol

But yeah, it's a decent game, only disappointing when yo compare to it's predecessor.

It came out in the same year as CoD 4, but was outsold like 5:1. So yeah, they definitely went into development of the second with a bigger audience in mind, regardless of what they'll ever admit to.

Stranger's Wrath 4xSSAA

JAW really got their shit together in the end with this port. The latest update adds the option of FXAA support, fixes the galloping problem, and labels the SSAA modes properly so you know wtf you're using. (4x = 2x2, 9x=3x3, 16x=4x4) I can run 2x2 and still keep 60fps barring anything like explosions (like with every game).

Gawd, this one drives me nuts. You'd think by now game makers would know well enough to reduce instances of particle overdraw.

It'll be especially bad when we finally come out with higher PPI screens and we're still crawling when any particle effects touch the camera at all.

Though granted, to be fair, very few gamers use supersampling in the general population... but it's still going to be a problem in the future. Grumble, grumble, mutter, mutter...

Not for me.

If you hate the color and want it to use your monitor settings just use r_colorgrading 0. Make sure if you're vista or windows 7 you tweak your icm profile or you just get default srgb settings not your monitor natural or calibrated profile.

I didn't know about this. I'll have to try it out later. Does it make a big difference?

Installed it again to see if they had fixed the problems with DX11 where AA is completely broken on my 6950 and it still is. The game didn't even want to launch in 1440p with DX9 for some reason, but 1080p still looks good enough. I need some money so I can get myself a 670 soon. :(

I really like the last screen for some reason, it looks so animated for the lack of a better term. The shopkeeper looks like he's pulled straight out of a high-res 2d background from a static point and click game.

Is it just me or do the colors seem to "pop" more in your screens? The Dota 2 I've seen before seemed a bit washed out.
