I've only played it for a few hours but I think it's so dumb on purpose, the guy says a lot of cheesy dumb stuff and the "good guys" in the game is a bunch of frat boys, it actually kind of works I think haha

You should watch the first 15 minutes of the giantbomb quicklook. I thought that guy was corny as hell from the E3 trailers, but he seems great in the actual game.

Pretty much all the character are great EXCEPT the damn main character. I thought I'd love him, but I think it's his voice. Sounds like I'm running around as Hayden Christensen.

Yeah, bunch of frat boys and some completely uninteresting support characters.
I know you love the game man but this is no oscar worthy story and the characters are quite shit.

It's a huge improvement over Far Cry 2's speed-talking bunch of nobodies.
A slice of mouldy cheesy is an improvement over anything Far Cry 2.

People raving over anything "decent" about farcry 2 or 3 make me want to eat my own arse.

No really, I totally agree with him here's a list of the characters I encountered in my playthrough ( up until the point where I gave up and removed the game ) :
- Main character : wet nap
- His brother : yeah
- His little brother : many hours of gametime and he is mentioned once, I'm sure he is an objectivemarker further down in the game
- Dennis : Know nothing about him other than he's introduced to you 5 min into the game and acts as a quest-giver and apparently a staunch proponent of "ta-taous"
- Lady nr 1 ( Lisa ? ) : with a character depth resembling the width of a hair.
- Lady nr 2 ( this one I don't even know the name of ) : somehow even LESS interesting than Lisa.
- The Dr, this dude could be interesting from the little I saw but I'm sure they manage to ruin his character as well.
- Hoyt : this is supposedly someone important, in my book it says "bad dude"

- Vas : an enigma wrapped in a riddle, great voice acting even if it's over the top since it lends to his insanity. Who is this guy? What is his motivation? Even his bloody animations seem in a league of their own compared to the rest of the cast and npcs that are straight out of GTAIII. I'd like to know more about him but nah I gotta save a bunch of polygons for tits that I know nor care nothing about.
So yeah, Vas is and was the only thing I cared about in my stint with the game, which I find sadly ironical given the fact that I too was very put off by that character in all the promo material and media.
