Thanks, here's my first proper screen!

Good shit! You've just made this thread that little bit more tolerable amongst the anally retentive of us ;)

PS Don't forget to put the name of the game somewhere in the post (maybe in the title). Great screen, but I don't know what it's from :( If you're particularly proud, post the AA settings and whatever else you think might be of interest (if any).

No probs. If you haven't used Fraps, it's pretty simple and it's free. Google is your friend :)

Save it as BMP, download Paint.net (it's free!) and save as 32-bit PNG. Bam.
It should actually be 24-bit PNG, 32-bit has different properties which are not required. It also probably has a larger file size, but I don't know.

You can even use Paint to save BMP to PNG. :p

Personally, I'd use Xnview or IrfanView and use its batch command tools to convert all BMP to PNG (just make sure to set the compression level to 9).

Thanks for helping me get up to speed. I now see how everyone else is doing their's. Makes a lot of sense.

Posted this in the Guild Wars 2 thread, but it's probably gonna get buried in there anyways.
So I got Ambient Occlusion working in it, but in the process found out that doing "Reflect All" or supersampling will disable it (or just cause it to bug out), so you may have to compromise.

The working bits are:
0x0000001F (Demigod) (Darkest, and best IMO)
0x0000002A (Diablo III) (A little weird, obviously intended for isometric view)
0x00000006 (Left 4 Dead) (Rather subtle, like all the Source Engine bits)

All of the Call of Duty ones I tested work as well. They're a bit more "in the middle", so to speak.

Here's a screenshot for your perusal. Using the Demigod one. Dat HDR!~

One with my FXAA Injector settings which I set to reduce the exposure with a pretty strong bleach bypass:

Asura clearly get the best eyewear.

Thanks to Zyrusticae for the AO bits. I'm using Demigod at Performance level, which seems to cause a weird effect on my character's body. I wish I could downsample from 2160p, add SMAA, and enable HQ AO at the same time with a stable 60+ fps.

Zyrusticae and Decyx, can you please explain to a total Nvidia noob how to setup the game to look like that ?

I just got my GTX 670 today and I want to put it to the test :)

Thanks !

Here's my downsampling tutorial. You can get the SMAA injector here for post-processing anti-aliasing and you can download Nvdia Inspector here to force ambient occlusion.

Here's what my Nvidia Inspector profile for Guild Wars 2 looks like. You can use it as a reference. See Zyrusticae's post for working bits.

Thank you ! Much appreciated :)

Edit: The application seems to crash when I put the SMAA Injector files in the GW2 directory. Am I missing something ?

I now totally regret buying Dark Souls for PS3. Also, GW2 looks gorgeous. Nice to see an MMO with such pleasant visuals.

Guys, I'm new in PC gaming and I have some doubts.

I have an 27" 1080p monitor and I'd like to know what's better: 1) play in 1920x1080; or 2) play in 2560x1440 downscaled to 1080p?

When I set a game's resolution to 2560x1440, the screen becomes a bit darker, like if I changed the brightness of the monitor. Why did it happen?

Sounds like it's turning on Full RGB when you normally use Limited. What kind of video card do you have?

This was taken pre-DOF fix, but I like the shot.

Is it on Steam?

It was, then they ran out of keys and it was pulled permanently or something. (No idea) If you buy a retail copy, though, it's redeemable on Steam. Due to this, they're getting harder to find.

GTX 670 FTW. I created a custom resolution on NCP and set that on the game. That was the only thing I did. Did I miss anything?

I'm new to Nvidia, but I think it has to do with how they handle the whole thing. I had trouble getting it to actually let me downsample in Full RGB, sounds like yours is defaulting to it automatically. I don't know why that would be. I had to set a custom refresh rate (60.001) to get it to work.

I am stunned at how great looking of a game for PC Dark Souls turned out to be with GodDurante's fix, and horrified and appalled to imagine how From wanted us to play it. Have they even seen their own game like this? Are they aware it can look like this? /boggle

I'm tempted to pick up DS but I'm on the fence over a few things, can you guys tell me:

1)How it controls with a 360 pad?
2)Could I expect a perfect locked 30fps with a 570 and Phenom II X4?

@tankshell some great shots there, but there is a 2 shots per post rule

@watevaman - yup its designed for a controller and works perfectly, 570 should be able to handle it well with a bit of downsampling
