The next to last, I think it defaults to it. It's just SMAA with nothing else. I'm downsampling from 2880x1620 too.

Yeah I knew you were downsampling, I'm running at 3600x1800 and it still looked jaggy but I might have messed something up. On another note, can you get d3doverrider to work with this 4.0 version? I'm getting tearing so I guess it ain't working for me.

SMAA breaks it, I think, so I'm forcing VSync with Inspector. If you ALT+Enter the game twice, in-game triple buffering will kick in.

Sigh fuck me I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Forcing triplebuff via inspector didn't work ( then again I've never tried that before so maybe I'm doing something wrong, I just set force triplebuffering to : on ) alt-enter twice didn't work either. Only thing that works is in-game v-sync and motherofgod it added a 500 ms input delay.

Dishonored
forced 8x Adaptive MSAA in CCC
in-game FXAA for softness (i usually hate fxaa but i think it looks good with this style)

I'm this close to having the perfect settings but I can't get triplebuffering to work and it's pissing me off so much GAAAAAAAAAAAH......

That looks like it would have some insane flicker in motion. (particularly the high frequency patterns in the distance in the second shot)

Surprisingly enough they don't, if you're referring to the blue solarpanels they're as cool as a cucumber in motion. In that entire area there's but one 1x1 m2 area where the texture flickers and that spot has flickered since the day I bought the damn game haha.

I'm gonna have to try forcing MSAA and see how it compliments my SweetFX/SMAA settings. That looks wonderful.

Yeah, I meant the solar panels. It just looks like they would be temporal aliasing hell, but good to hear that that's not the case.

the worst thing you can do when you're holding on buying a game is to come to this thread, ended up buying dishonored, will install when i get home, thanks guys, you just broke my wallet again ;)

I'm sorry, Zyrusticae, but it's looks pretty blurry to me.
I already covered this - I hate temporal aliasing to the point where I will do anything to get rid of it, up to and including dealing with perhaps a bit more blurriness than is necessary.

It also conveniently helps to mask sections where texture resolution is inconsistent...

This is like shooting yourself in the head so you don't feel that papercut on your thumb .__.

In your opinion, perhaps.

Nothing takes me out of a game quite as quickly as aliasing. In addition to just plain looking bloody awful, it's a very stark and obvious reminder that I am playing a computer game when I would rather be imagining that I have a tiny window into another universe (however fleeting that universe may be). As far as I'm concerned, obvious aliasing is like a gashing, bloody wound, especially in otherwise beautiful games.

I also have really, really poor vision IRL (I can't read 12-pt font on a piece of paper sitting 2 feet in front of me without my glasses), so obviously I have a resistance to blurring. YMMV.
