I'm not taking sides in this whole thing as I do realize that there are some advantages the bigger markets have over the small but honestly many of them are difficult to change as in the end you can't force dudes to play somewhere they do want to go....if a guy wants to go play somewhere and he has the power to make it happen then he's gonna make it happen.
LA can't really help that it is a nice place to live and that NBA players want to play there over say New Jersey or Milwaukee.. and outside of forcing people to play in one place or outlawing free agency, that advantage will probably always be there.
I just don't feel like it's that big of a deal especially since my team is in a big market but has not seen any of these advantages work for us. Maybe players like to go to places that has shown the ability to field a winner consistantly?
I don't know....
what I do know is that I thought this argument died when the lockout ended.
