What are you? New?What are you? 10?
As for making the players try harder in the allstar game, I think shaming them into trying harder would do the trick. I dont want to see home court advantage or anything stupid like that, but having the winning team win 1 million dollars for some inner school city would work I think. that city could rotate every year, one city for the western conference and one city for the eastern conference. different city for both east and west next year
Well, they'll try in the fourth quarter at least
Shumpert would have won this years dunk contest.

That would be James "Flight" White:

To cleanse the palate of miserable dunks tonight.
Blazersedge said:My favorite dunk was Derrick Williams' touching tribute to Raymond Felton on the last one (1-for-8)
Have you seen the picture of Chris Paul pretending to hammer? Did you see how little the PGs tried to win scholarships for poor kids? They don't' give a shit.

Obvious Choker is obvious. Trade the bum
The camera dunk was actually a good idea I think but it was terribly executed and he should have dropped it from his routine if it tested badly and just gone with a free throw line dunk.
lol. ESPN has resorted to playing last year's Blake Griffin dunk.
They aren't even reporting on Saturday All Star since it was so shitty.
So why show another shitty dunk?
I was out the whole day. What'd I miss today with the All-star festivities?!
if it was one dunk he still would have won, and if you think that was the worst you clearly have a terrible memory.
Link me to a dunk in recent memory that you think looks worse than Jeremy Evan's EYE JAM. That swinging around on the rim was fucking ridiculous and made it even worse.
Derrick Williams and Chase Buddinger both had worse dunks.

he actually got the dunk off?

Definitely one of the worst All-Star Saturday's in recent memory. The skills, 3 point, and dunk competitions were stinkers across the board. Too many players just going through the motions and the crowd lacked any energy.
As for the dunk competition, several things:
- If well-known players participated, they wouldn't have to do crazy unique dunks. They could just do a power dunk and pose afterward, and the crowd would roar. Today's stars have an irrational fear of the dunk contest. But it would actually be quite easy for them.
- It's the unknown players that have to do crazy unique dunks because they have no star power whatsoever to lean on. And since many of the crazy unique dunks have already been done before, these unknown players have to rely on more absurd gimmicks year after year.
- The NBA should give the dunk contestants a much longer advanced notice, so the players actually have some adequate time to practice and prepare.
- Instead of thinking up bizarre gimmicks and sponsorship tie-ins, the players should research the amateur dunk contests. The amateurs are still coming up with some really crazy dunks because they have nothing better to do than practice dunks. So just "borrow" from them.
- Considering how scripted the first round was, I'm just amazed at how awful it still was. They just need to let the players dunk. The setup for each dunk took the air out of the building and you risk non-sense like having P Diddy scream "Black Power!".
- I actually think the fan voting was a good idea this year. With such a weak field, the judges would either have to give embarrassingly low scores or give undeservingly high scores for lame dunks.
- The dunk contest will probably remain lame for the next couple of years until a couple of breakout young players decide to participate like in Dwight Howard's era.
But this is lockout All-Star weekend so it was destined to be lame.
haha, wow.John Hollinger: Real winner of the dunk contest was Iman Shumpert, who at the last minute avoided having to be associated with it.
