While I agree that the Heat are not the best constructed team, the big 3 were probably a package deal, and I'm not sure what the better alternative was to signing the best player in the NBA in LeBron.

I agree with you that he had to grab all 3 if they were on the table.

But i'd still think about shipping out one of the two wings for pieces.

And LBJ's value around the league is the highest, so they could probably get some very nice pieces back.

I wonder if the nets would trade Deron & Lopez?

We've gone over it a million times, and there's ton of interesting trade scenraios really.

Which team tunes out their coach more, Clippers or Lakers?
sigh
thats a good question.
So is Wade gonna get suspended for this or what*? If this was anybody doing it to Wade or Lebron they'd be out at least 2 games.

As bad as it would be the best move is trading Wade. I realize what he means to the city and franchise but for a pure basketball move its Wade. You dont trade Bron and Bosh would fit much better with Bron than Bron and Wade.

Despite their flawed roster, the Heat are a LeBron choke job away from winning a title last year and a Bosh injury away from walking through the Eastern Conference unopposed this year. Compare that to where the Heat were before they signed Bosh and LeBron. I find it hard to blame Riley for more than the Miller contract. Haslem has been a problem, but who could have predicted his injury and following steep decline?

If the Heat fail this year, then breaking up the big three becomes a possibility. But I'm not seeing how any GM could have done it right after they were signed and the compatibility problems hadn't been demonstrated. Ownership probably wouldn't have allowed it and the locker-room would have gone crazy.

I don't get this. Wade is the most popular player in a franchise with a super fickle fanbase who barely show up even when the team is winning. It's not like he's Drew Brees rebuilding the city after a hurricane.

It's funny; Wade's heavy endorsement that it's "LeBron's Team" could be a catalyst in the Heat seeing what you could get for him. The fact he's had a few games this postseason where it's questioned why he's taking the shot/missed FTs in a clutch situation doesn't hurt either.

Of course it will never happen (Bosh would be dealt before Wade), but it's something to think about.

Why wouldn't the Nets trade Deron & Lopez. lol

Because then they're starting Farmar.

Haslem is weird. I thought he would be huge for them. Before the injury he seemed ot be hitting the baseline 12 - 16ft jumpshot regularly and was a beast on D and on the Glass.

Maybe that was when he was just in comparison the beasley though.

I'm not sure you get the value for wade that you do LBJ.

Wade would probably only get you Deron, not Deron and Lopez.

Deron Wade Battier? Bosh Lopez.

Thats not bad.

Particularly as Lopez CAN his a jump shot so would help spacing. They'd just need to motivate him on the defensive end.

Before Bron he was the greatest Hestle ever. Brought them their only championship*. Just sayin, wouldnt be easy.

If the Colts can cut Peyton Manning, the Heat could certainly trade Wade
Peyton Manning was old and injured for a year and they were able to draft Andrew Luck, those sort of circumstances haven't existed for Miami thus far. After this year, it may be possible to trade Wade, but earlier than that...I don't think it was really feasible.

*I know, he's Wade. He'll get a small fine if anything. Dude is the ultimate punk on the court; takes cheap shots, flops like a premier leaguer and argues with refs with no repurcussion. No idea why the media types try to ignore his play.

...3 more to go for the P's.

Wow that should be a suspension

Riley should have never paired Lebron and Wade in the first place. That is all on Riley. Can you imagine what kind of pieces he could have surrounded Bosh/Wade with using Lebron's contract?

Yeah, a real bench.

Wade isn't going to get suspended, although he should. The foul from Kobe smacking Faried in the back of the head in the air was worse and he didn't get suspended. Also Wade is a dirty fucking player.

Rumors that there will be a press conference today about an agreement being reached between Chris Hansen's investment group and the city and county on a plan to build an NBA/NHL arena.

don't think you can make trades during the playoffs..

i really want bosh to come back very soon. rooting against miami when they have a legitimate excuse is only half as fun and i want the team that i support beat the best teams there are.

Bosh is untradable.

They have no quality bigs outside of him. You don't then trade him away.

They do have a spare wing.
From a PR standpoint Wade is untradable. He's the 2nd most popular sports figure in S. Florida behind Dan Marino. He would have be in a Peyton Manning situation for Riles to even think about dealing him. However iffffff there needs to be a change made I feel that dealing Wade for another big/quality bench players would be the best option for us.

I know LBJ is putting up the better stats, but if i have to trade someone, one of the 3, it's him.

You'll get more back, it's essentially that simple to my mind. I don't have a particular fondness of LBJ, but he's worth more ATM than wade. You could even get dwight + your pick of the rest of the roster.

http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles...098/del-negros-name-still-used-in-san-antonio

“Some of the stuff we do on defense, we actually have one thing we call on the pin downs, we say we’re going to ‘Del Negro it’ and that’s in his honor and we’ve done that for 15 years,” Popovich said. “We have a Del Negro defense out there because he couldn’t play a lick of D. At times we had to invent something just to hide him, so we call it ‘Del Negro’ and you do certain things on the court and everybody has to make up for that guy who’s the ‘Del Negro.’”

Coooooldblooooded

I don't think the lakers will resign sessions if doesn't perform in teh playoffs.

Going by the CBA, not resigning Sessions would make no sense basketball-wise since they could only sign a 2.5m a year guy to replace him and those guys are generally terrible.

Then again, with the new luxury tax rules, it could be super costly to resign him, so maybe.

Two important points from last night's game. When the Heat don't get bailed out by the referees late they A) Lose the game and B) Cheap shot the opponent

I don't see why Skip thinks Wade should've taken that shot. He's never been a three point shooter and hasn't really even taken them this year. They have a point about the role-players though.

Now I hope you all see why I have almost no faith that we are gonna beat Boston. 50 points for Lebron/Wade, usually around 60-70 in a game like this with Bosh. The role players not showing up is an old story, but without bosh we can't survive with the next highest player scoring 5. Without bosh we are fucked.

I love how on this forum you can make up whatever the fuck you want and have it be a "point".
