Fisher would've made it, hell Sasha would've made.

On that 2nd look the last play Steve Blake had Bynum to pass it to down at the block for a better shot. But whatever, they never should've blown the lead in the first place. This is about as close as being a competitive series it can get.

Fuck this one stings, I'm gonna click furiously at D3 all night.

lol Jordan Farmar on Twitter saying he would have made that shot.

i was assuming he meant Fisher.

Fisher would've made it, hell Sasha would've made.

They would have been down 10..

The Lakers are stuck with tremendously shitty contracts. The only player they have with any value is Bynum.

Can still sign and trade for $9 million salary this offseason. 1 more ace in the hole for next year.

The thunder beat the Mavs in two close wins last series. Every team has meltdowns from time to time, people are over reacting.

It was a shitty loss, Kobe lost them the game definitely...

just like people said the thunder wouldn't shoot as hot as they did in game 1, they won't shoot as horribly as they did in this game. i think the lakers will win game 3 and then it either becomes a series in game 4 (if the lakers can win) or else the thunder win game 4 and close it out in game 5 at home

Sessions has been invisible all series long, if he's not aggressively penetrating he's not better than Fisher.

Nobody screens for him, anymore. Kobe has taken the ball out of his hands. They're running the same offense they ran the first 2 months of the season. :(

He has to do better, though. His D on Westbrook was much better tonight, though. Fisher would have been torched.

Lakers also shot 2/15 on 3s. Kobe and Blake missed a couple wide open ones. Works both ways. Lakers haven't shot 40% yet...

Phil Jackson wouldn't have allowed for Kobe to go full retard at the end like that. The Lakers essentially don't have a coach right now, so Kobe is left to his own devices.

Let's not forget Mike Brown had to burn 2 timeouts because he couldn't draw up a decent inbound play. Also it seems pretty obvious Kobe didn't know OKC still had a foul to give when he was running out the clock with 18 secs left. Mr. Potato Head should have been shouting that shit from the sideline when the clock went under 12 seconds and no one was moving.

Like it or not, Bynum does have value. He's often considered the second best center in the league even though he is a turnover machine and has attitude problems.

He's not TO prone. He's 25th in the league among Cs, but most of the Cs better than him are dudes like Johan Petro or Kurt Thomas who never touch the ball. Or are spot up shooters like Channing Frye. Better than Howard.

Kobe knew and didn't care. I know Kobe enough to know he wanted a buzzer-beater and nothing else.

It's been over an hour since the game ended and I'm still dejected.

Blame Kobe, blame Brown, blame the boogeyman...seriously, blame whoever the fuck you want. We lost in a worse way than we did Monday night. Up 7 with 2:08 left? You could have sat on the ball, gotten 3 straight shot clock violations and still had a chance to win the game...

There are those losses that almost break you as a fan--the losses where you know, at that point, the series is indeed over.

The missed Horry shot 3 in 2003.

The Game 6 loss in 2006.

The 24 point choke in 2008.

The Game 2 loss in 2012.

And to ClovingSteam, there is a huge fucking difference between being realistic about your chances, but still rooting for your team.

Being indifferent in a loss like this...I don't know, bro.

The dent in my office wall was fixed a couple of years ago.

Thanks for remind me of that shit.

I was rooting for the team. I always root for them to win. Im disappointed yes but upset? No.

I'm still pretty upset, despite knowing full well that OKC's chances of winning the series was in the 90 percentiles.

On to the next topic, who do The Lakers fleece next year before the trade deadline?

We need to clean house. Seriously. We need a new bench. We need to get rid of Bynum/Pau. We need a new coach. Now jist how likely is it major changes will be made? Doubtfull. Gasol hasnt helped us with his play during these playoffs.

Do you realize how huge this loss was?

It was the Lakers only real path of winning this series (the long shot that it already was). You win tonight and all you have to do is protect home court to win the series in 6. Lakers actually play pretty well in the confines of Staples.

Now?

You hope to protect home court and push it to 7 (you aren't winning Game 5 in OKC, no matter what).

And if it goes 7, you think this Laker team can close them out @ home?

And if you didn't think that far ahead, then you're indifferent and that's the shit I'm calling out.

Yup. So dejected after this one.

Im fully aware that this was their best shot.
My other concern is them winning a few games doesnt help them for the next few years. It prolongs the inevitable. It gives Buss and Kupchak to backing ti make minor changes instead of the big ones that are needed to make sure we dont go through what we did after the Magic era. Dont get me wrong, I loved watching the Van Exel and Eddie Jones Lakers but they were never going to win.

Lakers may meed to be blown out to force big changes on the front office. The longterm health of this franchise is more important than one or two victories. Again, I'm disappointed but why should I be mad? And i'm serious. There is a lot of things in my life that can cause me to be angry, alter my mood, etc, why should basketball be one of them?

You dont know how upset i was during 2008-2010. Literally, my days were ruined when we lost. I wouldnt want to talk to anyone. It wasnt healthy. Maybe i just refuse to get back to that point again.

Actually first thing that came to mind for me when he mentioned rings was Boston blowing out Lakers by 20+ in game 7 some years back.

Game 6.

I think all his comments were pointed @ Dallas last year.

Games - Lakers gave away Game 1 which started the sweep.

Contracts - Both Barea and Chandler got nice contracts following last year.

Rings - Dallas chipped.

They can't just "blow it up." It doesn't work like that so easy.

The Lakers have been very fortunate. Remember when Magic and Worthy left? I don't want another near decade of not being contenders. I also don't want to become the Knicks.

They have to ride out the Kobe era as best they can right now because there is no other alternative.

Ok, I think we've gotten to the point where comments from Bynum can be aptly titled "Bynumisms".

I mean who says shit like this consistently? For real.

Can the Lakers recover? Yes. Will they? The roster doesn't have that mentality.

Even if they save face on Friday, there's no reason to get my hopes up that Saturday will have the same result. If by a miracle it did, every member of this squad and Mike Brown will control their fate with a series tied 2-2. The failure to make things interesting would be legitimately more painful than a sweep.

My takeaway is this. If Dirk and the current champs suffered the same fate we did in the first two games, how exactly is this team going to be turn things around on a back-to-back at home?

I'm not saying get rid of Kobe. I'm saying to follow what the Spurs have done with Timmy. Build around him. Bynum was suppise to be that guy but he wont mature. Pau is done. Our bench is unforgivable. Sessions isnt ready for the big time. I'm not saying it will be easy or can be done but this team wont win.
