I felt like Kobe and the Lakers always beat the Spurs when it mattered. I feel like that head to head is like 4-2 in our favor, and Kobe always feasted on them even when Duncan and Robinson were able to slow down Shaq.

Duncan and Kobe are not real rivals IMHO. They are both past their primes and just competing with history at this point.

I won't give up hope on the Lakers just yet. OKC owns us but we are a Harden and Durant injury away from being right back in the series!

While the Spurs are responsible for dethroning the three-peat Lakers, the series since then have been decidedly one-sided unfortunately.

I wouldn't mind playing the Lakers this year in the WCF, and I acknowledge that things could change this weekend, but right now - the two best teams in the western conference seem to be OKC and SA and we seem to be steaming right at each other.

People on real GM are saying that the Pacers are a dominant defensive team like Dallas(lol) last season and that's why Lebron isn't scoring. The excuses people make for Lebron are hilarious.

I had an argument a month ago with a guy that proclaimed that Lebron hasn't won a championship yet is because his teams never had a Jason Terry guy to help him out.

If people say the Pacers defense is affecting LeBron, how exactly is that an excuse for him?

Pau won the citizenship award. Good on him. Does as much charity work as any athlete I've heard of, especially among children, across the world over.

This is the Roster Lebron needs to win:

Eric Gordon.
Ray Allen. Both for 3pt shooting. Gordon adds another slasher.
Lebron. Does the play making.
Dirk.
Chandler. This a frontcourt that would mix well with Lebron. Dirk spaces the floor and chandler can catch and finish.

4 bench players:

Chris Paul. Off the bench play maker.
Kobe Bryant. All around guard that can play a little 3 too and post up guards.
Mark Gasol. Physical center off the bench that can open things up with the jumper.
Lamar Odom. all around big that can play the 3 and 4 and some spot minutes at the 5.

This is the team Lebron needs

Its an excuse because he's a 6'9 270lb slab of muscle that could just catch the ball on the move and drive into the lane and smash through guys like a wrecking ball? Instead he lets Granger talk shit to him and scare him away from the basket.

You and I both know that he'd still find a way to lose.

Spurs in 4.

If San Antonio wins this year, Popovich > Phil
Phil had the greatest coaching career of all time.

But in a shortened season no one does it better than Pop. I said that as a joke prior to the start of the season with a my Spurs friend, but it looks like it might come true!

Pop is great though. It is almost unfair seeing a stupid team like the Clippers play them. I still think OKC will give them problems with their length and speed. It will be close. At this point I would favor the Spurs, but you never know when the young kids are going to take that next step. If Durant is going to do it then this is the year to do it and the Spurs are the team to do it against.

2012 off-season predictions

Wade to Chicago for Boozer and Deng.
Heat trade Deng and Boozer to Orl for Dwight(insert Bosh for Boozer if necessary)

Lebron and Dwight get to play with each other, whine and make excuses all year.

Bulls get the 2 they want for when Derrick gets back.
Wade gets to beat Lebron and Riley(now as coach) in a "revenge for trading me" series.

Orlando gets decent players for Dwight, not great, but better than nothing.

Kobe sees what's happening in Chicago, demands trade, Bulls trade Rip and CJ to Lakers for Kobe.

Not 5, not 6, not 7...

DAAAAAA Bulls.

Totally not serious.

Wait, why is everyone defending Spoelstra? He's literally turned Bosh into a spot up jump shooter. He started Dexter Pittman in a playoff game.

Deng is hurt and will miss most of next season. And bulls could just offer up Noah and some players for Dwight, tank, get a top pick, resign Dwight, and have Rose and Dwight in 2 seasons with a top prospect.

Pittman starting was bad.

But the Bosh thing I can understand. He has two iso heavy players that aren't going to give the ball up or don't run the pick and roll well enough to take advantage of Bosh in regards to trying to get the roll man the ball.

Wade and Lebron turned Bosh into a spot up shooter.

And there are no answers for Spo without Bosh. The rest of the roster after Chalmers is garbage.

Wade usually attacks the pick and roll, but Lebron has always run it well.

Lakers fans acting like an iso wing and a post threat have never played together before. It's not Wade and Lebron's fault Spo doesn't want Bosh to have the ball on the block.

Are you 15 or something?

10 is literally twice as many as 5. In two different eras, with two different teams and several different cores and no tanks and always in the playoffs.

This discussion is not happening.

Take away a single player, Tim Duncan, and Pop would have zero rings.

He also gave the NBA, Mike Brown.

He's a hack. Imagine how amazing Duncan would have been without Pop holding him back? He could've been Barkley2.0... maybe. Definitely had a shot at being a top 5 PF ever, but we'll never know I guess.
