Rasheed just texted me to ask if I saw the thunder. I said I had heard the thunder and I had seen the lightning too. He hasn't text me back.

Parker is freshman of the year

#Duke's Jabari Parker was the ACC freshman of the year with 72 votes. Syracuse's Tyler Ennis got 4, UVA's London Perrantes 1

And of course there's this

Laura Keeley ‏@laurakeeley 14m
Ummmmm Jabari Parker also got four votes for ACC defensive player of the year. Did those four misread the ballot?

Wow, that wasn't even close, nor should it have been to any rational observer. The whole team success argument doesn't really hold any water once you look at preseason expectations. Jabari was on a Duke team that finished 3rd after being the unanimous pick to win it all, whereas NC State finished 7th after being picked 10th. Without Jabari, Duke is still an upper echelon team in the ACC whereas TJ is the only reason we didn't finish dead last.

How many Duke Co-eds have one of his spare keys currently? +/- 9.5? I'll take the over

Two players from Tennessee? Aren't they shit? I'm basing this solely off the fact that NC State managed to beat them at their place earlier in the year.

Back from my ban so I can now talk some basketball.

I was telling you guys midseason Nebraska was legit. They got some guys that can shoot the mid-range jumper unlike Ohio State.

Minnesota should be in with a win over Penn State but most likely will have to beat Wisconsin too. Andre Hollins, our best player, was injured for 3 games in which we went 1-2 and was really weak in his first game back against NWestern. We got hosed by the refs vs. Purdue and Northwestern(our 2 bad losses) but that probably won't be factored in but nobody seems to be talking about our 2 bad losses because Hollins was out/not up to par. Hopefully the committee isn't as stupid as the chumps on ESPN and CBS.

Don't forget to sign up for the billion dollar bracket. Registration is open still(I believe)...signed up a few days ago.

Time for some good basketball on the first day of the ACC tournament. Seriously, expansion has made me a much more apathetic fan. There are too many rounds, too many teams, and only 3 of them are even worth tuning in for.

Yeah. The top level of the Greensboro Coliseum is curtained off for this round, probably the round tomorrow, too. The more teams they add, the less people actually attend.

Hey look it's two teams that beat Duke this year.

Nope, not Syracuse vs UNC. It's Notre Dame vs. Wake Forest.

*hits head against the wall*
So winner of this game to make it all the way to the ACC championship game to face off against Duke and then beat Duke to win it all and get an automatic birth!

As if ;-)

Duke's Friday matchup could be against Clemson, another team to beat them earlier in the season. Clemson would have to refrain from going Clemson tomorrow against the Boston College/Georgia Tech winner, though.

I wonder if NC State has a good shot at beating Syracuse. There one and only meeting was a heartbreaking loss by NC State and by winning you'd get another rematch of State vs Duke which only played once with the now larger ACC (and that game was a beat down by Duke). I suppose a 3rd game between Syracuse and Duke would be interesting as well since it would break the current tiebreaker. Anyway, it should prove to be an interesting matchup assuming Duke handles their business and faces off against NC State or Syracuse.

Nobody wants to see Duke-NC State instead of Duke-Syracuse. The ACC doesn't want it, ESPN doesn't want it. The top 2 basketball games on ESPN this year were the Duke and Syracuse match-ups.

They'll make David Stern honorary ACC commissioner for the tournament and he'll personally see to it the Duke and Syracuse get a round 3.

Oh well, I'm not sure Syracuse would lose to NC State but I just thought it might be interesting to see if the Wolfpack would do better in a rematch with the Blue Devils on a "neutral" court :) Guess I'm in the minority :-D

Edit: Wake Forest wins will play Pitt tomorrow.

It's Match, time for the stars to take over.

TJ Warren vs Jabari Parker Part Deux would be a great watch.
I expect the score to be similar though, State doesn't particularly match up well against Duke

They would only lose by 20 this time.
