I'm 44. Teenage Dream was probably my favorite pop song of 2010 (actually favorite song, period) or whenever it was. Everything she's put out since has been turgid, tuneless crap. There's plenty of electronic based pop music I like...Empire of the Sun, M83,,,,,artists that seem to put a priority on crafting an actual song. I have an open mind and have no problem embracing the occasional ubiquitous pop song but the majority of mainstream pop over the past few years is just irredeemable to me and will have the shelf life of a fruit fly.
