Yeah, many of the big current gen games are very colorful (eg. Infamous, Sunset Overdrive, Killzone, Destiny, Dragon Age, Witcher...), not to mention the indie games. It's a very distinct difference to the early days of the previous gen, but I guess some myths tend to live on in people's minds.

It might be the best looking game I've ever played, which is high praise for me as a massive fan of Infamous SS's visuals. There are aspects of it, like image quality, that some games do better, but the overall look is mindblowing.

Absolutely one of my favorite overall aesthetics ever in gaming. They captured that thick and grimy Gotham atmosphere perfectly. Blows my mind that it's a UE3 game.

I totally agree. What it lacks in IQ, it makes up in everything else. And on PC at 4K, the IQ is off the charts as well. All Rocksteady needs to do is fix the performance, but this has already taken the crown for the best looking game I've ever played.

It's kind of like The Last of Us where the game engine itself is last-gen, but it's done so well that it doesn't even matter.
